As a first generation american, this book has helped me hold on to my culture. Even though i no longer live near my mother and Aunties who can teach me these recipes I can rest assured I have the tools I need to pass the flavored memories of my childhood to my children. And my mother (a registered dietitian) was a teacher at the Carnegie school around the time this book was being compiled and contributed to its production.
I own and have read both this revised version and the original. For more years that I can count I have always used these as my reference manuals. In this the 21st century it is difficult to carry the actual book hence the online version is a great way to always have them at my side.
