Shifter Vets #3

Winged Wolf Vet

Rate this book
Who do you call when a winged wolf crashes through the roof of your chicken coop? Shifter Vets!

Leslie’s house was already falling apart before mythical animals started plummeting out of the sky. Now she’s got a hole in her chicken coop, an adorable (and impossible) cub hiding in her kitchen, and her nosy neighbor barging in to search for cryptids.

Not to mention the naked man locked up in her chicken run. Who up until five minutes ago was an enormous, unconscious, injured wolf… with wings.

Shifter vet Bryan is not having a good day. First the magical cub he’s trying to help runs away from him. Then someone put a bullet through his wing. And now he’s woken up in a chicken coop…looking straight into the eyes of his one true mate.

Who just saw the one secret he can never let anyone discover.

Finding love in these circumstances seems impossible. But Vets for All Pets - and the magical creatures its shifter veterinarians care for - has a lot of experience with things that don’t seem possible…

That was a nice wrap-up of the Shifter Vets (and my current Zoe Chant binge). I kinda wanna visit her house, it sounds so cozy, always jam on the stove, berries in the backyard, a winged wolf-cub running around... She was my highlight of this book, tbh. Velvet is so adorable. Like with Waylon's book, I loved Black Flame the most. The magical pets are definetly a highlight of the whole series, so if I ever get back to the shifters of Zoe Chant (very probable, I always end up reading them when I get a free month of Kindle Unlimited), I might get back to read all about our little dinosaur shifter friend. These books are too addictive to stop.

Light, fun, and full of shifters!

I liked the veteranarians who are shifters as well as treat a wide miscellany of creatures. I loved the vets, all male, who stumbled while recognizing and winning their mates. And the wide variety of mystical creatures who drop in. These included an adorable blind flying wolf shifter pup, a hen who was apparently telepathic and also able to lay eggs containing whatever she wanted, and the most dangerous of all, an endearing bunny who could literally eat anything. Fans of Zoe Chant's other series will recognize a raptor shifter (think Jurassic Park, not Wild America) who drops in to help.

This is a cute shifter romance, the third in the Shifter Vets series. It was short, so there wasn't time for as much character development as I normally like. It gets 3 stars from me.

I liked both Bryan and Leslie, and thought they were good for each other. They both had issues that they helped each other with -- him with his fear that he would endanger everyone he loved (because of his very unusual shifter ability), and her with her home repairs and crazy neighbors.

I also liked that this book contained several magical animals that came thru a portal in the town where they lived. I hope Zoe Chant writes more books set in this town, as the possibilities for creative creatures could be endless.

This story features shifter instalove, and hints at sex (but in a fade-to-black way, there are no sex scenes).

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

Good

When Bryan falls into Leslie’s chicken coop while in his winged wolf shape, he’s sure that it’s going to cause trouble. Instead he discovers his mate…

If any phrase can describe this book, it’s “enchantingly cosy”. With a heroine who makes jam, and a hero gifted at home repair, as well as a winged wolf, paranormal critters from the Otherworld, and of course the other vets and their families, it couldn’t be anything else.
I had to chuckle at the mention of all the children’s literature in this book- a number of old favourites and some classics I introduced my own kids to… I know many of them centered around food (midnight feasts in Malory Towers anyone?) and it just added to the cosy feel of the book.
This one was a lovely read, the romance was sweet, the situations funny, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Leslie’s business and how it began.

This one is a sweet paranormal romance for those who like their romances on the cosy side, or who want a lighthearted but enjoyable read.

Super fun. I loved it!

You have 2 winged wolves, a woman who makes yummy homemade jams, a veterinarian office that treats all sorts of unusual magical creatures along with the regular ones, and a walk in character from The Defenders Inc series! Add in a lot of confusion, some really weird rabbits and a fierce desire to protect each other and you have a delightful mix of antics and serious concerns. What can I say? This is just good fun. I have been waiting for this story for a while. I did read this in brief bits. I will have to reread this in one go soon. Maybe I will re-read them all, along with the Protectors and Defenders series (I may not be remembering this series named correctly).

The pace is fast and the tone is uncertain yet hopeful with a character oriented storyline that has some action and no steam. The characters are quirky and endearing. You want to read these in order to get the most out of this series.

Bryan, a winged wolf shifter, falls through Leslie's chicken coop after being shot while chasing a winged wolf cub. Leslie was surprised to find a winged wolf in her chicken coop, and even more shocked when he turned into a naked man, but she immediately helps him. Bryan had plans to leave town after his secret came out, but Leslie is his one true mate, and her fixer-upper house really needs some work which he can do as he's both vet and handyman. Still, is it safe for him to stay? Will people he cares about get hurt?

I've really enjoyed this series and this book is no exception. This was such a fun read with shifters and magical animals. The book is well-written, and the characters are wonderful. I was drawn into this enchanting story from the beginning and kept hooked throughout. It was "un-put-downable", and I read it in one sitting. I waited eagerly for this book, and it was definitely worth it. Both book and series are excellent reads and I highly recommend them.

A swoony shifter romance

I loved Leslie and Bryan’s sweet swoony shifter novella with a side of slight danger. I was feeling all the feels with this one. Bryan is a vet and a wolf shifter with secrets even from his closest friends. Leslie sells her jams on Etsy and moved to town recently to a farm so she’d have her own fruit supply. They meet when Bryan is shot while flying over her land and crashes into her chicken coop. That is her introduction to shifters and magical creatures. The book details their journey to a real relationship while letting go of secrets, fears and painful pasts. Despite the book being short, the story included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline. This book has a little bit of everything - sweet moments, real life issues, imperfect characters, laughter, cute animals, and so much love. Another great Zoe Chant book.

Wolf, bear, unicorn, and mates....

Leslie moved to the small town to make jam and sell it online. Her home is a fixer upper and she has bad luck with the handyman she had hired. They never showed up even though they kept saying they would. Bryan is a flying wolf shifter and the third member of the shifted vets. The first time she saw Bryan he had crashed through her chicken pen after being shot by her neighbor. Leslie felt drawn to Bryan and after looking at Leslie Bryan knew she was his mate. Leslie and Bryan knew they had the forever kind of love. This is a really wonderful series. Everyone has different issues but they all worked together to become a true wolf pack. Everyone should give this series a chance. It is exciting, fun, A little crazy, and an amazing read.

Bryan is SUPER secretive, and now that his wings have been outed .. he's planning on going on the run to protect his pa... coworkers.

Leslie's startled when there's a crash, and she finds an injured winged wolf and cub in her Fort Knox of a chicken coup. Imagine her surprise, when she comes back with supplies ... there's a naked man holding the cub. Bryan's just as surprised when he realizes she's his fated mate.

I really enjoyed the trust building of this couple. They both have their issues, but Bryan's been trained since childhood not to trust anyone. It was so heartwarming watching him learn he does have a pack, and he he doesn't have to run anymore.

Throw in some troublemaker neighbors, an EAT EVERYTHING bunny who's impossible to cage ... made for an very enjoyable story.

Leslie and her flying wolf

Leslie’s family helped her buy a house so she could keep making her jams, preserves, and marmalade but it was a fixer-upper and no one stayed working on it to help her until Bryan was shot and fell through her chicken run. He had been chasing the little blind flying wolf that escaped from him. He was getting ready to leave the area after the people he worked with saw his wings because of what had happened to him when he was younger to keep them safe. But his wolf said no and Leslie was his mate and fixed her house for her and had neighbor problems but that got straightened out. Good book couldn’t put it down!

Velvet

The vets and family members are releasing the healed magical animals back into the portal. A small wolf cub flies out. The cub hits a tree limb falling to the ground, Bryan burst from his clothes and flies to save the winged cub before it hits the ground. Bryan decides that he needs to leave the puck to protect them. Velvet escapes, Bryan gets shot at by Leslie's neighbor who thinks he's a mothman. Leslie is Bryan's mate, she dresses his wound where he was shot. He takes her to his work place where he shows her the unusual they have. Bryan is trying to decide whether he should leave or stay with the people he loves. Really good story and funny situations.

I really liked this story about a wolf shifter (Bryan) who has wings and a "Jam Witch" (Leslie) who grows her own fruits and makes jam to sell. Leslie has two crazy neighbors one who claims she owns three inches of Leslie's land (The surveyors lied!) and she wants it back; and one who believes in Mothman and carries a rifle to shoot him down. Unfortunately, he shoots Bryan instead and he falls through the roof of Leslie's chicken coop. Oh and by the way, Bryan and Leslie are destined to be mates.

winged wolf Vet (Shifter Vets) book 3

Book 3 and I got to tell you, they just keep getting better. None of the stories are even remotely the same. The characters are different their problems, animals, even their mates are different. At the end of each series I'm disappointed there's not another book to jump into. This story is about Bryan. Whose protective, standoffish, reserved and distant to new comers. If you I read the other two series you might think you know why! But you'd be wrong. I'm sure you'll ENJOY!! this story as well.

A fun story with more interesting animals arriving through the portal and some seriously weird neighbours.
Bryan’s story was of a lesson hard learned. But glad he found his pack at last.
Leslie’s jams sounded delicious. Liked that she was making a business of it.
I removed a star as this was seriously in need of proof reading. Missing words, misspelt words and messy in places.
Read through Kindle Unlimited.

Another good one!

Zoe's written another fun winner here.

Leslie's family helped her but a house in the country that's turned out to be the fixer-upper freedom hell.

Grumpy Bryan's longest held personal secret comes out and he ends up wounded in her chicken coop.

Can her jam and his animal convince his commitment-risk-adverse human that he can?

I'm still chuckling over the rabbit.

Cozy as a thumbprint cookie with artisans jam!

This satisfying, clean-ish romance (nookie is off-page, but the steam is there!) is a warm hug on a cold day. The characters are old friends with new tricks, including a cameo from another Zoe series! Bryan has been a mystery since the first book, and getting closure on him was almost bad good as him finding his may-...I mean Leslie!
Enjoy this quick, fun read!

such an absolute pleasure

I’ve discovered this author a while ago! She made her characters super funny, pleasure to read and I didn’t feel the need for bleaching my eyes from what was read in parts of other books! I rediscovered her Shifter Bites and Shifter Vets Series! It was the perfect short novella! It had awesome characters with fun storylines with Romance and no smut.
I highly recommend all her books and short stories! Enjoy!

I binged UnicornVet, Bear Vet and then Winged Wolf Vet. You don’t have to read the first two but I would recommend them as they put Bryan’s actions into context. Bryan is used to hiding his true shifter side from everyone even his friends don’t know his wolf can fly. When he is mistaken for a mothman and shot at he lands in the chicken coop of the new girl in town and his true mate. This story tells how the grumpy vet and the perky entrepreneur work through his issues and let love win.

I absolutely love the 'magical pets'. They make an appearance in so many of the 'Zoe' series. Now that that's said, this was an amazing read. Bryan's secret is finally out. He is going to have to trust his friends and his mate to get through what happened in his past. As long as he leans on his 'pack', he will find his HEA. Leslie was perfect for him. Great read! I received an early copy and is my voluntary opinion.

WOW!! So Good!!

Well written story and well developed characters! All of these veterinarians are awesome! These books are best if read in order. Lesley is having trouble keeping handy men who really want to work. She bought her home as a fixer upper and wants it fixed! Then a winged wolf falls through the roof of her chicken coop!

Light & sweet

Turns out Bryan has a secret or three he's been keeping from his fellow vets! Leslie is just a woman who likes to make jam, but she's going to pick them out of his brain like berries.

There's no sex in this romance, and the level of violence is pretty low. The real stars are the unique magical creatures that come through the portal to wreak havok.

Winged Wolf Vet is a treat

Personally, I hardly ever read five-star reviews. That is why I don’t feel bad about taking off a star on this review. WWV kept getting better and better as I kept reading. The surprise characters near the end were the frosting on the cupcakes. The only things I can think of to complain about are some typos.

Alone Wolf finding his pack

This book was so sweet with our main characters and how they interact with each other. The jam witch is my favorite and I wish I could try some of those delicious concoctions. I adore how the couple fits into each other's lives, so well and that they're able to fill in the gaps for each other.

He wants a pack

This book is a cross over you get a cameo of Merlin from another series.
The storyline was sad but also could of been better he was worried about the men in black but it was the stupid neighbours that was causing problems also a lot of time jumping at the end and hints of information fired at you.

Love this series!

Don’t miss this 3-book series! In typical Zoe Chant writing, we have quirky characters, interesting plots, unexpected happenings. I waited until I finished this third one to post.

The only downfall? It had but 3 books! Please, Zoe, give us some more tales in La Puerta!

Eats Everything Rabbit!

This one ‘may’ be my favorite of the three. So fun but also a little sad with Bryan’s upbringing finally revealed. I love all the shifter books especially the series where you get to see the same characters again. These are fun and heartwarming as well as a bit exciting.

Imagination is Wonderful

Who would have thought of a rabbit, that eats everything or a rabbit that unhinged its jaw to eat raw meat. But a Winged Wolf that is a animal vet and a man and falls in love with a human woman made everything real. Love the story and loved the other two stories too.

Brilliant Series

Winged Wolf Vet (Shifter Vets) by Zoe Chant. Leslie moved to La Puerta to expand her jam making business. She met winged wolf and vet Bryan when he crash landed through her chicken coop. After running for all of his life it took quite a while for Bryan to realise he could settle down.

Another Interesting Book about overcoming fear

This is another semi short, sweet book, a jammy pun, read to find out why. The story is actually framed around a man that had reason to fear commitment and involvement and how the right woman made him face the issue.
