Irresistible Omegas #6

l'Obéissance de l'Alpha (La Meute Hayes t. 7)

Rate this book
He’s determined to bring two enemies back together…but his own heart gets in the way.

When pregnant omega Sivney is asked to take care of a wounded alpha named Naran, he agrees. Naran is combatant, bitter, and determined to keep everyone at a distance, but especially Lev, the fellow alpha he betrayed in the worst way. Not that that’s hard, since he’s confined to his room after injuries to both his legs.

Sivney thinks that’s BS. It’s easy to see Naran and Lev belong together, even though relationships between two alphas are uncommon. But Lev needs something only Naran can give him, so Sivney is determined to bring them back together.
It works, until his own feelings get in the way…

And outside the PTP ranch, things get worse and worse... How will the pack survive?

Alpha’s Obedience is book 7 in the Irresistible Omegas series, a bestselling mpreg romance series which needs to be read in order to enjoy the plot lines fully. This slow burn enemies to lovers MMM romance has a little kink and ends on a happy for now, but these three will get their happy ever after in the next book.

Would you like the long or the short version of my bio?

The short? You got it.

I write steamy gay romance books and I love it. I also love reading books. Books are everything.

How was that?

A little more detail? Gotcha.

I started writing my first stories when I was a teen…on a freaking typewriter. I still have these, and they’re adorably romantic. And bad, haha. Fear of failing kept me from following my dream to become a romance author, so you can imagine how proud and ecstatic I am that I finally overcame my fears and self doubt and did it. I adore my genre because I love writing and reading about flawed, strong men who are just a tad broken..but find their happy ever after anyway.

My favorite books to read are pretty much all MM/gay romances as long as it has a happy end. Kink is a plus… Aside from that, I also read a lot of nonfiction and not just books on writing. Popular psychology is a favorite topic of mine and so are self help and sociology.

Hobbies? Ain’t nobody got time for that. Just kidding. I love traveling, spending time near the ocean, and hiking. But I love books more.

I enjoyed this love-to-hate-to-love second-chance between Naran and Lev a lot. Throw in independent Sivney and you get quite the unusual threesome here in regards of dynamics.

Naran: alpha, PI, had a sexual relationship with Lev in the past

Lev: alpha, got his heart broken bad by Naran

Sivney: omega, has the Melloni-gene, pregnant, gives birth to a baby-girl

Looking forward to seeing them figuring out their relationship further.

There was not much happening on the overarching plot and with the others in the pack but there are enough hints that it gets a lot interesting and exciting once more soon.

“We're never gonna fit the stereotypes, so why bother? What matters is that it works for us, that we’re happy."

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Umm, excuse me you can't just end it like that without telling me what's up with Palani!! Why is he behaving so uncharacteristically? Is he sick? Dying? A side effect of the Melloni gene? Or can it be - the impossible??? 😳

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Well, apart from that dangling mystery that remains to be solved - and I swear, if anything happens to him - this was a decent inclusion of a new poly dynamic of how the dynamics of the expected behaviors have shifted here. How an omega is more assertive than a supposed alpha, who is at the point that he is questioning if he even is an alpha? And whether or not they fit the norm of what is to be expected in the hopeful prospects of becoming a part of Lidon's pack, it was nice to see how they all agreed that they did not have to fit into that supposed nature. 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️ What makes it harder for them to really make their connection effortless, is how much baggage they are carrying that is still heavily weighing on them - preventing them from accepting the inevitable of how they're fated to be.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ My heart really felt for Lev - there is so much pain he's carrying that it just seeped through the pages. 'Years of living with his father and older brothers had taught him nothing but fear of fucking up.' His emotional doubts and insecurities about not only his doubts, but second guessing his own nature - how he comes off so weak, when his appearance is that of the typical top alpha. 😥 His fear of rejection that exists on the ranch - failing to ever feel accepted, not only because of how he feels less privy to their sexual antics, but forever haunted by the shame of not only succumbing to the ploys of Naran Watkins to outsmart him, but his inability to help him when he was being viciously abused by his captors. 'A hurting soul hidden in that alpha body', it was rough and it was not difficult to sympathize with him; wanting him to feel safe and wanted on the ranch was the prevalent feeling, as well as his own questions about what it was that he expected of himself. 😞

Hating you is exhausting,” Lev said, his voice ending on a choked cry. “I’m so tired of trying to keep it all together. So tired of being angry all the time, of being scared and being alone.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ I did sympathize with Naran; it was not fair what happened to him, and being reduced from the high and mighty alpha that he once was, to the now weak helpless invalid, who was broken and who hurt with wounds deeper than just the ones of his legs. The guilt of how he seduced Lev into helping him, his need to stay away so Lev could find a way to heal himself - the shame of appearing in front of others for what he had done, even at their behest. 💔💔 And now at the tender mercy and care of a very patient and considerate pregnant Sivney - a young omega, a cute one, a healthy one who saw beneath his rough and gruff exterior - 'you pretend to be this big, bad alpha, but you have a soft, mushy heart, Naran' - was a difficult challenge for him to face. I loved how confident and self-assured Sivney was; how he may look sweet and small, but there' sass buried underneath that hides a wicked mouth who won't take anyone's bullshit.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ He was a solid balm for Naran- knowing all about the pangs of humiliation and embarrassment as an omega, himself, he made Naran feel secure and safe in his weakness, allowing their relationship to develop in a tender way in which he did not feel vulnerable with Sivney as his nurse. 'No, it was because the omega managed to pierce through his defenses like it was nothing.' 😥 He felt cared for, enough to unlock the resentment and guilt he'd been carrying for so long over his ill-treatment of Lev, that it would take certain scheming on Sivney's part to finally get the two to admit that they still cared for each other. Even if it hurt Sivney that he may have to let someone into his heart, when he promised himself that he would never be weak in front of anyone else ever again. A bittersweet loneliness that if those two fit together, then there really was no room for them, no matter how much he lends a hand in getting them to confess and open up to each other. 💟

He hurt for them both, Naran and Lev, and it was impossible to say who was the victim here.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Even with the odds stacked against them - the heartbreak, the uncertainty, the sense of longing, as well as the need for protecting, as fate would ordain, life has a way of working out in the way one would least suspect. As Sivney grapples with his own strange notions of not being the typical omega and trying to figure out where his place is with the two who already have a history and a bond that doesn't involve him, Lev and Naran finally address the elephant in the room, and see that their shared hurt and guilt can be healed - together. 🥹 'Everyone deserves a second chance.' And with Sivney as their anchor, they finally make it work. The pregnancy scene was a major catalyst for their relationship and I liked how it involved all of them - capturing the close-knit feeling of kinship. I liked seeing their walls slowly come down as they made their feelings and inhibitions known. ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ There was a sense of calmness that once the shadow of the doubt cleared, there was a sense of calmness that eased into their hearts that was believable. It is interesting to see how Sivney wanting to be the more dominant player in their dynamic will play out for an Alpha's Obedience to come forth in the face of an omega. 🥺 'We’re a fucked-up bunch together, aren’t we?' And while I don't know how I feel about Naran's assertiveness of being the only one for Lev - it is a dynamic that exists from when they were together, so I really can't say anything. Although, the author really needs to come up with some better nicknames - firecracker is fine, but babyface... Yeah, not my thing. 🙂‍↔️🙂‍↔️

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ A certain number of familiar faces still make their appearance, others not as much. It is nice to see the omegas being more confident and open about themselves, as well as their ongoing and open romps at any means - despite Lev's vexations. 🙈 I liked how thoughtful Palani was about his assessment of Naran's treatment, and how he genuinely wished to look out for them, despite letting Sivney act as the buffer between the two. And yeah, don't think I haven't forgotten about him - I need answers, and I better get them, and there better be nothing too life-threatening! I'm serious! He's my favorite character!! 😭😭

I really enjoy this series and this new threesome has plenty of issues to work through. As if that isn't enough there is something going on with Palani and the dangers facing the pack are far from going away.

This was just the start of the relationship between Sivney, Naran and Lev and it will continue in the next book so there is no HEA yet as there is a slow build.

Unfortunately, the story was riddled with spelling and grammatical errors and that did pull me out of the narrative on more than one occasion. Although it indicated an editor it would have benefitted from another proofreading before it was released.

I do love this series, it's a fast, easy read with interesting characters and a compelling setting and I find it fascinating how different Nora makes each trouple.

Can't say I really got into the characters in this one, and felt the storyline was a little flat. My least favourite of the series so far unfortunately. 3.25 stars.

Whilst I'm reviewing, I really am getting rather fed up of the errors in Nora Phoenix's stories, whether it be typos or editing errors [this one was apparently edited, but obviously not very well]. If she can't be bothered to spend some money on actually putting out a decent product, then I'm probably not going to continue with this series or her stories in general and take my business elsewhere. For goodness sake, employ a proper editor and give your readers a new experience...a story without strange sentence structures or ones that make no sense, incorrect verb usage and all the other errors that are common to your stories.

This has been my least favourite of the series so far and things are a bit weird on the Ranch. There’s several things happening in the background that I can see hopefully coming to the fore in the next book, which I’m excited for, but this relationship was missing something.

The Sir/boy relationship between Naran and Lev was hard to get into, though it was intriguing. I wish we’d gotten a prologue or snippet of their relationship BEFORE everything went south so I felt more of what their connection was and could understand the pain and loss they both felt now. Same with Sivney. They all have painful backstories but we’re told about them, not shown, which leaves me disconnected.

I wanted more “pack”. I wanted more of the mystery of the Melloni gene. I want more Lidon and his mates. But I’m invested in this series. On to the next one soon hopefully!!

Well i think i'm gonna stop reading this series for a while. I loved Naran and Lez's relationship story so much and even though i liked Sivney i didn't feel all that love between the three of them. I guess this is the second time in this series where i like one dynamic in a relationship more than the other which makes the reading so hard to me. Also the subplots were just ignored for a lot of chapters?? So yeah i'm outta here for a while.

This one was just......off, I liked the new characters though Sivney not so much, I feel like he was just dropped in my lap out of nowhere just for the sake of making a throuple.
You know, as these books go on.....this pairing of three people in a relationship is starting to feel forced or an obligation, like they're getting together because the book says its MMM. Especially in this case, I liked Naran & Lev together they're chemistry was off the charts, even from the first time they were introduced in the other book, they worked as a couple (except when they introduced their kink, THAT I did not just get) and as important as Sivney was in getting these guys back together, I saw nothing but friendship from him to the other two. Him wanting to be part of the relationship and them suddenly realising they were all fated mates felt like they HAD to do it & not just naturally falling for each other.
At this point, I just keep coming back to find out what's going on in the main story (the Hayes Ranch) which not much information was given on in this one.
I get that so far a poly relationship is what causes shifting but they're still learning about this am sure she can find a way to make it work with a couple that's just two of them. And as many of these mpreg novels I've read, I try not to think too hard on exactly how the birthing process goes, but now nursing is also added to the list.......I don't know. Am sure this has been there with the other omegas in the series but for some reason, it was very front & center with this one.
So its 2.5* from me.

Ugh, this is just getting too much of the same shit. And the writing is definitely getting on my nerves.
The arc of the series is very interesting, and I really really liked where the author was going with the whole ABO mpreg universe to real shifters, only the writing really sucked for me.
It felt like it was trying to be ‘modern’, but it read very juvenile to me. The inner monologues from all the main characters, were mostly the same bland recipe, but with only slight differences.

I was invested enough in the Lidon, Vieno, Palani and Enar story, but reading that combined with other couples’ POV added as “main” was definitely not successful, in my opinion.
So, I’ll be not continuing this series, due to the fact that the next books are mainly about other couples as well, and I’m just done with it.

So many questions arise. What's with Palani? Will Naran heal if he shifts? What will Lev settle on? I can't wait to find out.

It's a big HFN in the way that I don't completely feel or like the pairing yet, so I’m hoping that will change in the next book.

Lev is questioning the fact that he is an alpha. His past with Naren has put him into a dark place. Naren, an alpha, in a wheel chair because of the beating he took, not even sure he wants to be alive. Sivney, a pregnant omega, afraid, forced to make his way to the Hayes Ranch, hoping they will take him in. Three men living in close quarters, all needing some TLC.

More great personalities added to this universe. The characters in this series at first look seem pretty straight forward but they have all kinds of issues that affect their relationships. With each other and the rest of the pack. I enjoyed Sivney bringing Lev and Naren together. His cluelessness that they were all supposed to be together was cute. It’s nice that all the characters live in the same place so there are old favorites to revisit. Naren came very close to knocking Palani out of first place in my heart.

HFN ending, their continuing story is supposed to be released soon.

I received an arc of this book.

Sweet love

A super sweet love story all about forgiveness and acceptance. Toss in a second chance romance and a little bit of public sex, and you've got a winner.

Consigliato 💖💖💖💖💖

You know, I mentioned briefly when I read Beta’s Strength, part of the reason I love a/b/o or a/o tropes, is because I’m a huge fan of omegas. They are often misjudged for being weak and whatever, when that is actually so far from the truth. But it’s not just the omegas that I love. I love the betas as well. I love the alphas too, don’t get me wrong, but betas and omegas have to fight so hard for their place in the world. For rights to do anything, go anywhere, and heaven forbid they go into heat or need medical assistance. Not that betas have heats, but they have problems too. And I love seeing how betas and omegas rise up and basically put alphas in their places if need be. And I love a true alpha. One that knows that everyone should be equal and willing to go the distance needed when it’s called for. Even if that means submitting themselves.
If you’ve kept up with this series, you know things are heating up. The prophecies of old are coming true and more and more are seeking the true nature of the old ways. The real sense of home and knowing they will be safe somewhere. With attacks in one corner and murders of high ranking officials in another, the city is becoming a very bad place. More are seeking refuge from it all at the ranch. But what is becoming even more a thing, is true fated mates are popping up everywhere. And it’s bringing more power and things to the pack. No one even thinks Lidon has tapped his full potential yet, and that’s honestly a scary thought. Because this pack is strong and growing stronger by the minute. It doesn’t mean there are hardships. Palani is dealing with too much, PTSD is running rampant, people are questioning where they belong and who they belong to, and so much more. It’s never easy trying to establish relationships and order and now this growing pack, but they are determined they will bring back the old ways and survive. If everyone will just realize, not everyone fits into a respective mold. Everyone has their place and it’s not always what their gender reveals. It’s a work in progress. And they hope they can be ready if someone comes for them again. They all just want to finally live in peace.
This one is another book in the series that shows how strong omegas and betas are. It also shows not everyone is the gender assigned at birth. There are issues with PTSD from several people. There’s just a lot going on. Sivney and Lev both impressed me in this one. They are so far from the normal that is expected of them. It’s not been an easy life for either of them. And with what Lev is dealing with, it’s not be easy on alpha, Naran either. Naran has a lot to make up for. My heart breaks for all three in this book. Not one of them knew their places anymore. With what happened to Naran, he lost all faith in himself and everyone else, because he isn’t the man he was. The past between Lev and Naran has Lev questioning everything, and because Sivney isn’t a normal omega, he felt like he wasn’t needed. The sad part, all of them had so much wrong. They all goofed up in their own ways, and they were so far from the truth about how everyone really feels, it’s insane. It’s their own warped sense of themselves that have made them think others think of them differently. And it’s going to take a lot to fix it. It’s not a perfect situation, but when in life is anything really? But it has been amazing to watch everyone grow and become who they are and confident, little by little in what and who they are. It doesn’t mean it doesn’t take constant encouragement, but they are growing and trying and they’ve made up a beautiful pack.
This is a series I don’t think I will ever get tired of. It’s been amazing to read and watch. The characters are just fabulous. And I will never stop loving them.

This one was my least favorite. Probably because this is a second chance romance for Lev and Naran, but we don't get any flashback to their original relationship. So it just comes across as two people who hate each other, and you experience the hate but none of the love. None of the reason why they would want to get back together.

Also, the second chance doesn't really develop very much in this book. I mean, at 80% Lev still plans to leave, and Sivney has no plans to date/mate either one of them. There's still no relationship at that point. Maybe a friendship, if you can even call it that. Naran is starting to figure out they could be mates, but it seems one sided on his part. The others don't reciprocate.

So it takes a loooong time to get to a relationship that happens at the very end of the book. And I'm writing this review after having read all the books, so I know the story doesn't continue and they are just side characters in subsequent books.

But the series is good overall, and none of the books is terrible. But if I absolutely had to pick one that was skip-able, it's this one.

More Irresistible Awesomeness! Outstanding Story & Listen🎧📚🎧

Alpha's Obedience
Irresistible Omegas, Book 7
By: Nora Phoenix
Narrated by: John Solo

Nora Phoenix does it again, he pens another amazing novel in her Irresistible Omegas series. The interesting storylines and characters continue to fascinate me and captivates my attention from start to end. This book features Naran, Lev and Sivney’s story, the story is set on the ranch where the three are now living. The book includes appearances and storylines from other members of the pack, we also hear news of what is going on outside the walls of the PTP ranch. Of all the characters in this series I think these three are the most broken, Naran is suffering, both physically and mentally. He is in a lot of pain from the physical injuries he sustained while being tortured during his captivity, he also struggling with his disability. He basically isolated himself from everyone else. Lev, the security guard who got played, has issues and insecurities, he hates Naran and what he did to him. Trying to find a place for himself on the farm he takes a job working security for Bray. While canvassing the perimeter he found an injured and very pregnant omega, he brings him to the Hayes clinic to get looked at. Sivney has not had it easy, he needed to get to a safe place to have his baby, unsure how but he found himself at the Hayes clinic. With an influx of omegas and people needing medical attention Sivney volunteers to help take care of Naran who is not exactly a joy to work with. I adored Sivney, a spitfire not afraid to speak his mind, he was able to get thru the wall Naran built around him. He also recognized there was history between him and Lev, it did not take long to see there was still something there. Much needs to be resolved with these three, they need to get over themselves and their own issues, they are on the right path. I am rooting for them and think they will get the strength they need to overcome their past. This story is a slow burn enemies to lovers romance, it is wonderfully plotted with a whole lot of drama, angst, heartfelt and emotional moments and some hot sexy times. Nora Phoenix, thank you for another awesome story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧And for the fabulous narration, John Solo delivers another outstanding performance in this amazing series. He continues to bring these characters to life, giving each their own distinct voice and personality, as well as heart and attitude. His portrayal of the characters is top notch, he is believable in each role that he plays, sounding just as I picture them to sound. He sets the perfect tone for the story, adds a nice dramatic flair which enhances your listening pleasure. Thank you for another awesome listen.

A broken alpha, a young alpha who doesn’t always feel like an alpha, and an omega who’s not very submissive are the focus of this seventh volume in the ‘Irresistible Omegas’ series by Nora Phoenix. Naran, Lev, and Sivney’s story is a great addition to the series and I was very excited to read it.

After the events in the end of book five, ‘Beta’s Strength’, Lidon and his pack had rescued Dr. Melloni and Naran, the private investigator who had been held and tortured for forty days by the psycho who waged war against the ranch. They also brought Lev who had been working as a security guard in the facility where Naran and Dr. Melloni were being held. It is now a month later and neither man is doing well. Naran suffered horribly at the hands of his torturers as they broke the bones in his legs and then half-a**ed splinted them so the bones grew back the wrong way. Without access to an X-Ray machine and an orthopedic specialist, Enar and Maz, the doctors on the ranch, have no way of helping him. Naran is feeling depressed, pissed, guilty about Lev - and so many other emotions - that no one wants to get near him.

This series just gets better and better. I know Nora has a few more books planned which makes my heart happy!
One thing I really love with this series is how right from start and throughout it’s always featured unconventional relationships - MMM, Enar identifying as a beta or a daddy with two boys. In this book we’ve got an submissive alpha, an omega who can not and will not submit and an alpha who is tormented by nightmares, pain and coming to terms with disability which might be forever. To the outside world they might seem broken or imperfect but they are perfect for each other. And as with all the books in this series it shows that love will find away regardless what judgements the world at large has.
The on-going story arc of the Meloni gene continues to build in this book with what appears to be almost a civil war and anarchy growing outside the pack compound. I can't wait to see that develops. And in the meantime I love that we get to see the rest of pack with each book.

This was one of my favorites of the series. I love how the author makes a point of not following typical a/b/o rules when she matches up her threesomes. In the case of this book it is two alphas and an omega. I loved all three main characters although it took me some time to warm up to Naran. I think of all three I liked Lev the best. He is the one that I connected with the most. I also loved how we continue to see pieces of the story from other characters throughout the book. If I had one complaint was that it ended rather abruptly with an HFN and there was a problem with one of the characters in the story that was left unresolved. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed this installment of the Irresistible Omegas series and am looking forward to the next one.

I loved this story of Lev, Naran and Sivney.
Theirs is a complex relationship. Each man having issues, trust, betrayal and hurts in their past.
I liked the ongoing story arc and the out of the box pairings.
It was great to see more of the other men and their families, watching them thrive despite the obstacles and uncertainty of their future.
I look forward to more of this series.
