P.S. Power works in fiction, mainly focusing on Fantasy, Science Fiction and Horror genres, with brief forays into other things just to keep life interesting. He averages 1 to 2 books monthly and has several series going. He lives in an isolated cabin in the middle of nowhere, as a recluse, yet still manages to find time to talk to people online, in a positive and delightful manner. Not one of those creepy hermit types though, you understand. It's more of an isolated farm style thing. Or ranch really. He's also interested in three dimensional photography, and long moonlit walks on the beach, sometimes with vampires. When he can find time he also does writing and voice work for scripted online programs. Anyway, feel free to drop him a line. Or visit his forum: http://pspowerbooks.com/phpBBF/index.php
In chatting with Dale over the past few weeks, it was decided that he was interested in blogging to you, his readers. The blog he had within the main site was not going to be a viable solution and there were thoughts of just creating a Forum where only he could post and everyone else could reply. This MOD is a nice meeting of the two for what will hopefully be a highly successful blog!
Hoping this first (and only) post by me will kick off a nice method of interaction with Dale's readers!

Cul-De-Sac was a surprise. The main character is a 15 year old boy who has lived through a very traumatic loss of his parents and now finds himself living in a government run gated community that is highly suspicious, with grandparents he never heard of who look no older than his parents were when they died. Yet he hits the ground running and is instantly involved with the community. He meets monsters without batting an eye and helps solve mysteries that even the adults couldn't solve. It really felt like one of the wish fulfillment books for teenagers where the adults were all bumbling obstacles to the teen's saving the day. But the darkness woven throughout the book was definitely not written for children. I kept telling myself there had to be a reason why Jake was so proficient at everything or I'd riot. And in the very end there are some revelations that help, while also adding a whole slew of new questions. Overall, I couldn't put the book down but I'm not sure I'll read any further into the series.
PS has once again dropped a purler on us, he just doesn't disappoint. Our young teenaged hero, emotionally damaged and grieving finds himself thrown into the reality that exists behind what is normal for us. It could possibly be true!! With just some powerful mental discipline skills young Jake navigates treacherous &unknown waters. With plenty of mystery PS has created another universe that doesn't seem to relate to any previous works. Meaning you have the fun of focusing deep on the tidbits, hints and factoids in order to get a real grip on the story. Totally engaging as always I'm really looking forward to the next installment. A little reminiscent of The Tony Winters series (also totally awesome) but this has early on headed straight into other worldly territory. Time to follow another great white rabbit down the hole PS is leading us into. Cool
Our author began this book in such a way as to ease into the thrust of the story arc. There are hints throughout the story to let the reader know there are more things in play than it seems. The wrap up of the story lets the reader understand some of the things going on, but (of course) not all.
I am looking forward to the next book with great anticipation.
Exciting start to a new series! Paranormal characters, aliens, augmented human's, and one orphaned boy of 14 that blends in perfectly. Its like a seasoned dish with all my favorite flavors. Enjoyed this book immensely and anxiously waiting on the next book already!! Highly recommend!!
If your familiar with this Author, you know that Tor takes over. In this scenario it was a kid who lost his parents to a assassin and he had to move in with his grandparents. Of course they are high ranking super soldiers and live in a gated community with the weird.
This story is worth the effort to reread while reading to absorb what was conveyed. Believable concepts that stretch the readers imagination and knowledge. The main character is thrown at the reader initially, the reader gets to become more comfortable as the story unfolds. Many surprises are in store even up to the close of Book 1.
Good plot line, good character formation, good fill in of the story line. A young boy who loses his parents in an unusual attack, a man of fire. Imagine that, a burning man comes into your house and you can do anything. Except somehow, this boy is able to survive. Get the book. Read it and join me in an adventure!
A good start to a new series from P. S. Power. A little different from most of the other series that have been released, makes me wonder if they will be tied in like a lot of the others.
Jake is a fourteen year old in a new setting. His parents were killed by a flaming man and the authorities think Jake did it. Later he is sent to his grandparents to live. Like being in Wonderland, he finds it hard to fit in.
Not bad I enjoyed reading it and will at least get book two. Its different enough from the Author's normal books to be interesting. But I can still see the common themes of their books and characters to be a comfortable read. Since they are one of my favorite Authors
Usually when a book is this bad, I do not give a rating. But to call this a science fiction book is beyond belief. It’s a disjointed book truly without a plot plot. Don’t read it.
I was hooked for the duration as it was such a different angle to the supernatural usual story lines. I'm up for the next as I need to see if book 2 delivers!
I would have liked a better character development. I'm thrown into a world where a fire walker isn't possible but vampires and reality anchors are a thing. I liked it but I want a deeper understanding of the world and Jake
A strange murder and an interesting suspect who is only 14 years old. He finds himself in the 'garden of mystery and ordered chaos' . Its a hooking book as well as an interesting read.
The first thirty pages are a kid, I think, signing papers. Its obvious the author was just filling pages and doesn't k ow.how to write a compelling story.
Notice I didn't say ending , because I'm way anxious for the next part of the journey. Nice hints! Some truly intriguing characters and I'm rooting for the (hero?) , not that you ever have one that simple. I'm curious and intrigued so pleading for more soon. Thanks for the journey!
