I'm usually a sucker for "she was right under my nose the whole time" romances, but this was one that did not work for me. I was pretty excited about it when I picked it up, but the disappointments kept on coming. First I discovered Big Bad Wolf wasn't the first in The Others Series. Then I discovered that it wasn't the swoony werewolf romance I was hoping for. It started out pretty bad and kept getting worse.
In the beginning, we meet the hero, Graham at a party. He's that romance standard--the playboy. As the novel opens, he's in a funk because he's been celibate for thirteen days. Although I'm not sure thirteen days qualifies for the word. Anyway, Graham's really bummed that his "different woman every night" philosophy hasn't been as appealing to him as it formerly had been. In fact, as his "beta" (his second in command) points out, there aren't many women at the party he hasn't already slept with. Charming, right?
While Graham and his beta (Logan) are discussing the few women present that Graham hasn't despoiled, the heroine shows up at the party. It's her turn to be "fixed". By which I mean that her friends have been setting her up on excruciating blind dates. Only they're not dates so much as assignations. That night's fix involves conservative Missy dressing up in a skanky, uncomfortable dress and high heels. Thus arrayed, Missy finally gets the attention of the one man she's been drooling after for six months. Only he's not a man, he's a Lupine (werewolf) who is known for his promiscuity and his "I don't date humans" attitude. One look at Missy's scantily clad behind, however, and all of Graham's objections to dating humans disappear. Graham literally carries Missy away from the party and into his lair (er, home).
I think that that all this was supposed to be romantic, but I should tell you that, although Missy and Graham have known each other for six months, Graham does not recognize Missy. At least, not until after they've slept together. Which brings me to another point: what self-respecting woman would sleep with a man who doesn't recognize her after six months of acquaintance? Oh, wait, dumb question. A major factor in this novel is Missy's low self-esteem. One thing that made me hate this book was that it was never resolved. Missy had some bad experiences in college, which lead her to hide herself behind the frumpy personality of a kindergarten teacher. Okay, it's time for me to take a deep breath. And write a HUGE aside.
I am a teacher. I don't teach kindergarten, but I work with kindergarten teachers and as part of my training, I worked in a kindergarten classroom. Warren's characterization of Missy as a stereotypical kindergarten teacher infuriated me. First of all, teaching kindergarten is NOT all about teaching five-year-olds to tie their shoes. It's an insult to kindergarten teachers--and how hard they work--to suggest that it is. Teachers work very, very hard. Working with five year olds is especially difficult and it takes a very special kind of person to do it well. It's not all fun, games and singing songs. And despite the short classroom hours, it's not a nine-to-five job. I don't know any teachers who don't take their work home with them in some way or another. The second thing I take issue with is the image of a frumpy kindergarten teacher. It's true that some teachers dress as though they are still stuck in the 1950s. But there's a lot of difference between dressing appropriately for working with five year olds and dressing in burlap sacks. I don't mind that Missy is a frumpy dresser. It makes sense given her history and her low self-esteem, but for god's sake, there was no reason to correlate it with her profession.
Okay, sorry. I had to get that off my chest. On to more book-related issues. Like, for example, Graham was a total jackwagon. He's the worst kind of alpha hero. He makes all the decisions, he lies to Missy, and conceals important information from her, he's controlling, he isolates her, he makes her participate in a disgusting, archaic tradition. He was a thoroughly repulsive hero. Here's one small thing that set me off: As a Lupine, Graham's body temperature runs warm. This means that he doesn't need things like comforters or blankets on his bed. Missy is a human. Most of the time she's in Graham's bed (I bed your pardon, when she's in bed and they're not, er, otherwise occupied), Missy is naked and cold. At no time does Graham try to make her more comfortable by turning up the heat. All he does is throw her one scratchy, inadequate blanket. Ah, God, that pissed me off.
But, wait, that's the not the worst of Graham's actions. He makes a decision in the novel that is indefensible. This part is spoilery, so beware: Graham has sex with Missy knowing that she will get pregnant. He does this without consulting her or even telling her after the fact. Warren tries to justify this by telling us that Missy desperately wants children. But that's not the point. If Missy's willing to take the risk, great. They can make that decision together. But Graham doesn't give Missy a choice. He makes it for her. And, in case you were wondering, yes, part of his motivation is that a baby will keep her by his side. Then, to compound matters, Graham brags about Missy's pregnancy to his archenemy in front of her. Missy takes Graham to task for this--but has already forgotten the whole "I slept with you knowing it would result in a baby. Sorry I told my archenemy before telling you" thing. Gah.
I don't even want to talk about the matehunt thing. If you read it, you'll see.
Missy, though, needs to be addressed. In the beginning of the novel, we learn that Missy has been hiding herself since a bad experience in college. We're never told what the bad experience was, though there are hints. Basically, whatever happened left Missy with some seriously low self-esteem. I think I mentioned that she sleeps with Graham while knowing that he doesn't recognize her? Yeah. That basically sets the tone for their relationship. It kind of seems like Missy's so amazed and grateful that Graham wants her--like, for life--that she's willing to put up with anything. He's sexy, he's hot, he's a scumbag--but he's all hers! Puh-leeze! Grow a spine already.
I also need to mention the pathetic excuses that Missy has for friends. None of them makes a single on-screen appearance. This may be because Graham is an abusive, controlling boyfriend. Or it may be because they're sucky friends. I mean, who wants to be friends with someone who makes you wear clothes you'd rather be caught dead in and setting you up for assignations you didn't want in the first place. I mean, dates are one thing--but Missy's fixes are meant to be more than that, if you know what I mean. Anyway, once Missy and Graham get together (which happens almost right away), Missy's friends pretty much disappear. That was okay with me--I didn't want to see any more of them anyway.
I feel like I could go on and on but I have to stop. I wish this book had been so bad it was good, but it was just bad. I won't be giving the other books in The Others series a try. At least, not if they're anything like this one.

Big Bad Wolf is the second installment in Christine Warren's paranormal romance series titled The Others. This is the first book I have read in this series and by this author. It started out pretty promising in my opinion and I was immediately engaged...but then the romance started and the audiobook performance for the male lead completely ruined it. Robotic, grunting, one-syllable caveman sounding narration during these scenes. I know that's harsh but when I say the narrator ruined it for me, I mean it. I can't really say if the romance would have been all that good reading it off the page since I can't compare the two. To be fair, the narrator was great during all the other characters and general narration but the male lead just crashed and burned. Even apart from the narration, I just couldn't seem to find any love for the hero though. He appears way too possessive and authoritative for the heroine in this book, and yes I'm very familiar with the world of alpha shifters. This guy took it too far in my opinion. On the plus side, I was really drawn to the title of this book and I found the addition of the shifter-world politics/suspense and the unexpected human love interest to be interesting.
Overall, Big Bad Wolf was just OK for me. I truly believe this book falls into the "love it or hate it" category so if you're curious or just like various styles of pnr then give it a try and see which side of the coin you fall on.

Initial Review:
It's a cute story. Either I was too tired to be reading in the first place, or it wasn't that exciting...but I dozed reading this. It's the usual werewolf story - were smells his mate, she's human, he jumps her like a T-bone steak and carries her off into the night. Lots & lots of sex follows. Human is confused. Were is confused that the human is confused, cuz they're mates, duh. More sex. The big bad "threat", success, more sex. The end.
Second Reading:
I definitely liked this book better the second time around. Maybe I was more caffeinated this time. So, it's a cute and funny story. It starts with Graham, a werewolf, being bored to tears at his friend's engagement party. Missy is a human kindergarten teacher and has been forced by her friends into a skanky dress for the event in order to be set up for a "fantasy date." Graham gets a look at her lady lumps in the dress and it's full speed ahead. He literally kidnaps her from the party and goes all monosyllabic caveman on her. They get it on because duh, that's what happens when you've got fine lady lumps and a hot werewolf panting after you. After a lot of that, Graham realizes Missy is his mate and thinks it'll be easy as pie to convince her of this fact. Hahaha, right. Missy isn't believing him because during every previous event she has met Graham at, he's basically ignored her. That doesn't inspire confidence in her that she's all the sudden his fated mate he's just now noticing. What follows is a lot of him trying to convince her they're mates and Missy telling him he's insane. It's a humorous book and I enjoyed this couple. Definitely better than the first book in this series.

This book was a lot of fun in the beginning. The style of it really reminded me of Shelly Laurenston. The plot was fluffy and the book's focus was firmly fixed on comedy and sex. Good times! But it didn't keep its lighthearted tone. Once the mate business stopped being a secret I felt it lost a lot of its humor.
Graham starts out this book as a player who has gotten bored with the game. While trying to deny that he has a problem he spots a butt designed to make a man fall to his knees and worship. She literally runs into him and he's shocked to discover his mate, smelling like a delicious sugar cookie.
The next thing you know, Graham has turned into a drooling idiot. All he wants to do is mate with Missy. The further into foreplay they get, the farther he descends into caveman speak. You sexy. So hot. Taste. Nom nom. It was pretty funny and cute. Afterward, Graham has to charm Missy into staying with him longer. He'd rather she just move in right away, but Missy doesn't seem to respond to his suggestions about it very well. Poor Graham has to try to think like a human male to figure out how to get her to stick around.
This book was cute! At times Missy's insecurities got old, and I feel sorry for her if those are her best friends, but overall it was good. I didn't like that what Graham did after he discovered a new smell on her, but it's Missy's fault too. She really should have been thinking about that.
But then things started to get odd. All of a sudden there's creepy talk about a materun. I think the description of it that Graham gave Missy was supposed to come off as hot and thrilling, but I got stuck on disturbed. The whole hunt situation just seemed really horrible. I actually put down the book and picked up a new one because I was afraid I would hate the aggression of the hunt and subsequent mating.
Surprisingly, the materun was really tame! After all the smack talk, Missy got off easy. The only really weird thing was that

Graham had sex with Missy in his werewolf form. That was odd enough, but then to lick all over her back as foreplay... That was so not sexy with a dog head. The author had even referred to another werewolf as having his "tongue lolling" and "panting." That spells dog to me. There's no way I plan to let a dog's tongue slurp on me during foreplay!

So if that end part hadn't been there I would have probably given it four stars. That's where It was headed to. But it dropped my enjoyment so much, and it changed the whole to of the book for me, so 3 stars!

This was my first Christine Warren and I won't be reading more. I actually found this book repulsive. The set up is cute: shy kindergarten teacher is dressed up sexy on a dare from friends who want to set her up on a blind date; she goes to the party and gets the attention of her secret crush, who is a slutty alpha werewolf who hasn't noticed her in the six months they've known of each other but is turned on by her now. I was ready to settle back and enjoy it when...wham, he kidnaps her, rapes her, keeps her isolated, and impregnates her without her knowledge or consent. He lies to her, ignores her wishes, and pays no attention to her physical or emotional well being. When his cousin, who is jockeying for power, attacks the heroine, the hero...does nothing. Worse, instead of displaying any kind of leadership, support or heroism he...agrees to go on a gang rape and coerces her into joining. She is a sniveling, spineless, whining nothing who presumably falls for him due to some sort of Stockholm syndrome. I only gave it one star instead of zero because I didn't want people to think I had forgotten to rate it. Be warned!

Meet Missy. She is a kindergarten teacher and it widely known that kindergarten teachers are not sluts. They are supposed to be plain, kind and boring.
Graham and Missy meet at an after wedding party. Graham's best friend vampire Dmitri just got married. One sniff and Graham becomes a caveman. He basically kidnaps Missy and the shy teacher finds herself seduced senseless by the wickedly sexy werewolf of her dreams.
Graham has two problems: he has to be gentle because Missy is just a human and because he needs to bring up the term mate-bond sooner than later.
You may think you have heard this story before, but it is well written, funny, sexy and very entertaining. Yes, I liked it and I would like to see what other creatures are included in The Others in the next books.

^^BIG,BAD,AND SEXY!^^
Who is afraid of the big bad wolf that surely isn’t me; instead I want to be hunted and stalked then devoured by the wolf. How long I have been waiting for Missy and Graham’s story, a very long time, and I loved it. I always knew this book would have the funnies and hot sexual chemistry and Graham walking wolf of my dreams.
I know Miss Warren’s book aint nothing but fluff, but its cotton candy fluff, all sweet and sticky and no good for you. The writing order of the books is a bit messed up but it’s pretty easy to follow, basically we know that Missy and Graham are together until now but we finally get their story.
What is the book about? Wolf convinces shy and mouse like kindergarten teacher that she is the one for him and introduce her to life of the Others. What are the Others? All things supernatural and sexy, they exist and it’s a matter of time before they make their big come out. From the previous books we know this was no walk in the park, but lots of tumbles in the bed.
The story is fairly easy to follow and it’s no epic storytelling, but it has humour, smoking sexy time, and Graham. Yes! I love him, for him I would tolerate being owned, he can even buy me, renovate and sell. I would be property and it would be good. So as you can tell I really liked the book, and I will be continuing the series. I know these characters and there is never a dull moment.

I would have given it 5 stars, but a couple of things made it where i couldn't . 1. The hunt scene was a little weird for me, lol. 2. It left way too many things question unanswered.

I liked "Big Bad Wolf" by Christine Warren. It wasn't until I got home and began the story that I realized this was an expanded version of "Fur Factor" which was originally published as an ebook by Ellora's Cave in 2003. I enjoyed the original and I was pleased to read the expanded version which is actually the second of the 'Fantasy Fix' miniseries.
Missy is the 'good' girl. She's a kindergarden teacher who likes children and dreams of the whole 'white picket fence' future. She's also about ready to give up since she's the 'good friend' type rather than the 'girlfriend' type. Of course that doesn't mean she can't still fantasize and one uber-sexy werewolf Graham is the current star of her nightly fantasies...even if he doesn't know she's alive. Until one night...
Graham has plenty of women...he's actually bored with it. And he has enough to occupy his attention with his wimpy cousin trying to take over his pack so going without isn't such a big deal. Then he lays eyes...and nose...on HER. Now his mind is made up...he just needs to--convince Missy she's his mate, defeat his cousin's shenanigans, convince the pack to accept Missy, and...oh yeah, tell Missy she's pregnant after only one night!
Hot and hilarious. Warren does a great job of portraying not only the poor Alpha who has to try and explain what' just instinct for him, AND poor Missy who's more used to cleaning up Play-Doh than blood. A fun couple that'll leave you fanning yourself!

This wasn't a romance or paranormal/fantasy novel. It was porn. The whole motivation behind EVERY plot detail was to get them back into having sex where the "hero" (a term I use loosely) would be beyond dominating with the sweet, innocent kindergarten teacher. Warning - the author apparently has limited time to develop characters so instead we'll repeatedly hear about the heroine as "a sweet kindergarten teacher"
I truly don't understand what anyone sees in this... but then again I am not a fan of reading erotica, so perhaps that's the problem.

The forced sex, the complete lack of understanding or respect on the male's part, the poor story telling, the heroine's "friends" who send men to her house to have sex with her that she DOESNT want and has to avoid... and the climax which revolves around (big surprise) a ritual that involves rape... Just EWWWWWWWWWWW. AWFUL. I have no idea why anyone suggested this to me.

Another fun story in the series "The Others". In this book, we have a human girl and an Alpha werewolf. Like the first book, I found it entertaining, low angst and funny. My only complaint is that one of the girlfriends, Ava, is extremely pushy and annoying. I also find the entire idea of the "fix" a bit ridiculous, especially because the heroines in the first two books did not want to go through with it.
The world of "The Others" is unique and I enjoyed reading about the Lupines.

When I saw that most of this series was at my local library, I decided to pick up Big Bad Wolf. I have a certain weakness for sexy wolf alphas, and after reading the blurb, I put it in my bag as quickly as possible. And after reading this in one morning, where I couldn't put it down once, I felt like I was completely in a whirlwind of wolf shifters, sensual embraces, and quite a adventure. Now I wished I had grabbed every other book in the series LOL. Definitely can't wait to try more of this series, and I am beyond thrilled I was able to have a chance to get my finger hooked in this story. It blew me away, I loved it so much I would recommend it to anyone that loves a solid punch romance to take your breath away.
The story starts with strong alpha male, who has probably had sex with almost every woman in his pack at least once. Graham is a physical being, and loves women until he becomes bored with them. He needs someone different and then he meets Missy and he is head over heels. Missy doesn't consider herself alpha mate material. She views herself as just a boring schoolteacher, not daring or bold with any sort of alpha personality in any way. I feel like this story, we see her go on a journey, where she goes from a shy and reserved woman, to one that stands up for herself. And even though toward the end you still see her as reserved, she is a fighter too and will fight for her man if she has too. I really loved her friends, and I would love to read the first book especially, it seems I might be missing out on something fantastic.
Overall a tantalizing story that makes you believe in dreams coming true. A wonderful and truly romantic paranormal story with certain suspenseful twists to reel you in, until the end that completely satisfies you and you feel dazed from that twister of a sizzler of a tale. ENTERTAINING ALL THE WAY THROUGH!!! You are missing out if you haven't read any book from this author.

Big Bad Wolf was badass! Not just another werewolf tale, here we actually got to see the men change form. You're probably asking, don't all werewolfs change form in books? No. I've read a handful that tell us they're werewolves, talk about hierarchy within the culture and even growl, GRRR! but I don't get to see the change. This book had no problem seeing to the shift and even playing upon it a little, which I loved.
Melissa 'Missy' Roper is a kindergarten teacher relegating herself to the woodwork because she doesn't believe she's as sexy, beautiful or alluring as the general female population, with her friends being her main comparasin.
She wears frumpy clothes and basically hides herself and her body from otherwise uninterested eyes. That is until her turn comes up for the fantasy fix, a tradition between her friends that sees each one set up with a sexy acquintance for a night of unbridled passion. Finding herself the current victim of this friend-imposed burden, she arrives at her friend Regina's engagement party only to be reminded of the one man that she truly has ever lusted over.
Graham Winters is an alpha. Of the Silverback pack and has become bored with women in general. He's got needs and an insatiable libidio but he can't seem to find release with all the artificial females prancing around. Werefemales and vamps that is. Graham does not date humans.

Graham was a delisicious alpha in all his glory! He went after Missy but couldn't comprehend her insecurities. She had a very difficult time believing Graham's true intentions and doubted him wholeheartedly about his feelings.
I LOVED Missy! she was the wallflower among her friends and I truly empathized with her insecurities. I Felt her self-doubt and saw her fears as legitimate. Hadn't Graham seen her several times before? why now is he chasing her? The answers to those question are worth reading the book for. It was fun, well written and sexy as hell.
Missy blossomed by the end and really showed how destined to be a leader she really was. Graham was wonderful and understanding, mystified even about Missy's misplaced insecurities. It took him a while to really understand her POV and that made me love him more because that meant he truly found her to be everything she thought she wasn't.
Great book, recommended for PNR fans and werewolf lovers!

Seriously, I was enjoying this book quite a lot and then I read the worst ending ever.
I have read some crazy sh*t out there but never something like this. I get that you love the hero but did you have to had sex with him while he was a werewolf?
I would have believed that you loved him without that gross and icky scene! It was like doing it with a huge dog. What the author was thinking while she wrote that I have no idea, but I can't rate this book any higher after reading THAT. Really, I was just thinking WTF? the whole time while that happened, and it took them a while to finish haha. I don't know, I'm just not into those type of things, too weird for me.
The rest of the book was pretty good though. I enjoyed this book more than the first. Still nothing I'm dying to recommend but I must admit this series keeps me interested in it. I will keep reading a couple of books more in it and try to forget that disgusting scene at the end.

This book doesn't withstand the test of time lol
I read this back in '09 I think and I remember not just loving it, but re-reading it. Yeah...my tastes have changed. I kept my original rating, but if I were to read it now, for the first time, maybe a 3.5 lol

This is the second book I've read by this author and I enjoyed it. Her books are full of sex, humor and romantic fantasy and should be read just for fun.

Big Bad Wolf - Missy and Graham - the wait is over!
At long last Graham and Missy's story, yippee! This is the second of Warren's Fixed series to be spiffed up and re-released and unlike One Bite With A Stranger (The Others, Book 6) (originally Fantasy Fix), this is the first print release of Big Bag Wolf (Fur Factor redux and redone) I am not an e-book person, so I have been waiting for Graham and Missy's since I first read Wolf on the Door and got hooked on Warren's Other series.
I really enjoyed this story, phew. I am so relieved, since I really didn't care for Graham's introduction in Fantasy Fix - even though I loved him in his supporting role in the rest of the Other books. At its heart Big Bad Wolf is still a novella even in its expanded form, the background story is pretty simple and the romance is relatively straightforward - the mating instinct does all the work - but it was nice and steamy and it is always fun to see a normal gal drive a hot supernatural hero to drooling lust, so it was all good. The sensuality level and language - with the exception of a word or two - is pretty much on par with the rest of Warren's St. Martin's releases, but be forewarned, if you feel at all uncomfortable with the idea of Beauty and the Beast (literally) you may want to give this one a pass.
I looked everywhere and couldn't yet find anything about Warren's March 2010 release Born To Be Wild (The Others), but it looks like there's a lioness on the cover so it might be a follow-on to Walk on the Wild side instead of one of the revamped `Fur' or `Fae' e-books. Hopefully the rest are not too long in coming, I am anxiously awaiting Raphael's story.

This has got to be one of my favorite new ( new to me ) series. A customer recommended this to me the other day, and felt so passionate about this book and told me I had to give it a try. Well I bought yesterday and finished it this morning.It has everythin...a plot ( which is always nice) a romance ( amazing character development ) and crazy heat...it sizzles.Its about an Alpha wolf named Graham whos had more of his share of one night stands and pretty much knows he can get anyone he wants..enter Melissa, a kindergarten teacher who met him only once at her best friends wedding and he didn't give her the time of day.....yet all shes done is think of him for 6 weeks and he doesn't even remember her name.At least he was untill Missy collides with hima at a party and then turns and runs away...arousing his desires and interest.Lupine law states that every alpha must have a mate and Grahams instinsts tells him shes his mate.However Missy is human...he needs to convince his clan that shes his bonded mate and also needs to keep her safe from his enemies who want her out of the picture so Curtis ( his Cousin ) can challenge him for Alpha pack leader. I loved her character, becaused she wasn't easily swayed or accepting of the fact that she was his mate because he said so.....she was a challenge to him throughout the story and din't give in so easily.I enjoyed Grahams charcter as when he 1st met Melissa he was ready to dismiss you because she wasn't his type...did that bit him the butt later :-)There was confrontation, friction, and lots of denile going on from pretty much everyone...but in the end to prove to everyone that Missy was truly his mate they had to face one more intense challenge to get their enemies off their backs...this was such a well writen story and very character driven. I intend to read the rest of the series, and to spread the word to my customers.

Good read - this is a rewrite of her original Fur Factor from the ebook series Fixed. There are some changes - mostly smoothing out the bumps in the plotting. She changed one scene considerably [to be truer to the character perhaps:] but I did enjoy the older version better. A quibble only, it is still a fun, fast read.
Graham is the Alpha of the Pack and is having political problems. When he finds his very unwolflike mate [meek and mild and human:] his problems are aggravated. This is by far my favorite! I think that the order of reading this series is a little skewed because the author is fitting some short stories in here and there, but in expanded novel form. I would read (6th book, but the first in the series) One Bite with a Stranger first, and this one second, then Wolf at the Door, following in order.
But, yeah, Missy and Graham are my favorite "Other" couple.
Missy is "fixed" up by Ava and the girls for her fantasy fix, at Reggie and Misha's post-wedding engagement party, but she wisely chickens out, only to run (literally) into Graham, her crush for about 6 weeks now. He has no recollection of her (they walked down the aisle together as maid of honor and best man for Reggie and Misha's wedding!) Yet suddenly he scents her and all is lost. Missy is his mate, and there's nothing she can do about it! Ah, but trouble is brewing within the pack; Alpha Graham has a cousin with delusions of grandeur and so begins the "I'm gonna kill your woman and take over the Pack" drama. It's really, really good and it was so hard to put down!
But, yeah, Missy and Graham are my favorite "Other" couple.

Minimal plot, minimal mythology or world building, but a whole lot of smexy times and some drama. I'm not sure if I'll continue with this series, it was a little bit of a let down.

missy just turned twenty-seven.graham is thirty-four.
then later on elders come to graham's front steps and graham finds out that his cousin set the whole meeting up and all.the elders say that graham doesnt follow his culture traditions and that graham doesnt even have a mate to know where his future for the pack will lead him to...that statement makes graham burst out saying that he already has a mate. and he does.but there are a few problems..1. missy is 100% human, and 2.missy doesnt even know anything about her being graham's mate.
worse of all b4 the convo with the elders, missy and graham of course have some good sex, but b4 the sex graham knew that if he did it with her than he would get her pregnant...but he couldnt help it.
later on graham tells missy that she is his mate.and missy(of course) doesnt take it too well.graham finds out while their complaining that missy is pregnant(because he smelled her smell twice as strong), and the messed up part is that she doesnt even know about it(and about how he knew that he could prevented her from getting her pregnant but had sex with her anyways).
missy is attacked by a fake mail man.
logan goes to graham and missy to report another breakiong bad were news(for graham), and it is that graham's cousin thinks he's found another way to ruin graham and put him as alpha.thats when graham found out that curtis planned the whole attacking thing missy thing.curtis thought that if missy was dead or gone, then graham would be miserable and longing and curtis could use that knowledge against graham.graham finds out then also that what curtis did was scheduled a matehunt. a matehunt is a were tradition that even an alpha cant miss(because the alphas always are the one leading it).the hunt starts with the females running to the forest as a head-start, and when its thirty seconds after, all the males shift into their wolf/were form and hunt down a mate.usually they go after the female that they want, and if two weres or more wants one female, then they fight over her, until one wins and claims the female as their mate.
later on there are a few problems for missy at the matehunt.missy finds out that shes pregnant because graham blurted it out to curtis b4 the matehunt began.later on..:first missy ran like the other girls for a 30 second head start.then missys bodyguards blank out because curtis's goons want to get missy to bring them to curtis.curtis catches missy and missy ends up somehow beating him up alittle and running....right into graham in his big tuff wolf form.graham and curtis battle, and graham won.graham is in his beast form and his beast is starting to rise alittle cause he fought curtis and graham wants to control himself so he wont hurt missy.but miss knows that graham wont hurt her and she knew that he needed her so missy drags it pass the line and sorta seduced him. it works(of course) and you know what happens next. later on in the end missy accepts being his mate and "luna"(queen of the female were lupines).graham does admit in the end that he loves her and plans on getting missy to marry him.

This is the Christine Warren book I've waited for. It only took me eight books to finally get. I'd advise anyone reading these to read this one first! Cause seeing these two in action throughout the rest of the books was frustrating. I wanted more of them and in this book I got it. Great happy read.

Read this if your extremely bored and brain dead. Only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of one was because it was a light funny read in the beginning. Then Misty kept changing her character, Graham couldn't control 1 grumbling pack member with half asssed plans that were ridiculous, even the villain changed from calm and conniving to street thug.
The matehunt? A ridiculous stupid plot point. Why were those already mated participating?
I drew the line at the beastiality, and that when she found out she was pregnant after 2 days of knowing Graham she was all "Oh cool".
I forced myself to get as far as I did. I will not be reading from this author again.

I liked it but didn't absolutely love it. Its #8 in a series but can be read as a standalone. The heroine alternated from having ZERO self esteem to being a bad-ass bitch and it just didn't jive for me. I think had she been a little more sure of herself it would have come across better.

Plot in a Nutshell: A werewolf finds his mate—a quiet, low-self-esteem blonde who he previously ignored. He has to work hard to convince her he wants her forever. She struggles to believe that a handsome alpha, who can have any woman, is truly interested in her. Trouble arises when a werewolf cousin tries to take Graham's place as alpha.

Missy is dressed like "a French whore" by her pushy friends. Unlike them, she doesn't want to live out her sexual fantasies with strangers. The friends briefly appear and then disappear for good. This is unbelievable, especially after Missy is attacked.
Missy runs away to escape her friends and her fix. She runs into Graham, who’s instantly attracted to her. His desire is fueled by her luscious scent. Graham doesn’t recognize Missy, even though they were paired at Reggie’s wedding.
Missy is surprised that the man she’s been crushing on for weeks is hot for her, can't keep his hands off, and wants to take her home. To escape her friends, she goes with him.

Graham is forced to tell Missy about mates and Lupines, due to pack problems. He senses she's pregnant. While she's reluctant to believe he truly wants her, she agrees to a date on Monday night.
ON MONDAY, Missy takes a breather at her apartment. A flower delivery turns out to be a werewolf attack sent by Curtis. She’s rescued by her stereotypical gay neighbor, who calls her "sugar." Missy tries to reach her girlfriends, but can’t. Graham takes her home where it's safe, after he hears what happened.

Off-Page Relationship Development: In just a few days filled with laughter, sex, and conversations, Missy feels she knows Graham better than anyone else—possibly even herself—despite how quickly time has passed.
ON THURSDAY, the matehunt happens. To protect Missy, Graham announces that she's pregnant. The effort fails when Curtis & friends chase after her. Two females try to keep her safe. Graham arrives, fights Curtis, and forces him to submit. Afterward, the MCs have kinky sex while Graham in still in his wereform.
FRIDAY: When the MCs return home, Missy yells at Graham for humiliating her by announcing her pregnancy. Graham apologizes and explains why he did it. "I-love-yous" are said and there's a final sex scene, which I skimmed.
☹️ The "Curtis trying to be alpha" subplot is stupid. Since alphas earn their position by strength and can be overthrown by a stronger challenger, weak Curtis would soon lose the alpha position.
