The Answer is Simple...Love Yourself!

Rate this book
Having observed thousands and thousands of people from virtually every walk of life, with every advantage or disadvantage, Sonia Choquette can confidently say that the only ones who genuinely succeed, who find peace and joy in their hearts and take great pleasure in their experiences, have a different way of going about things. Rather than relying solely on their egos—their defended, insecure personalities—suffering the assaults life renders them, they turn to a higher aspect of their nature, the Spirit within, and let this direct their lives. The ten simple yet necessary steps outlined in this book will allow you to make that connection to your authentic Spirit and experience your truth. As Sonia says, "These aren’t just metaphysical theories, but are tried-and-true, grounded practices that will lead you directly back to the best, holiest, most delightful and delighted you, free of fear and filled with light." The most exciting part is that learning to love yourself and live your Spirit is actually quite simple when you realize the truth revealed that you are not the ego, but rather are Divine, Holy Spirit. Once you do, everything will come alive in light and joy.Love yourself and live your Spirit, and your life flows peacefully. It really is that simple

Makes you see CLEARER! for me it was like my vision was a bit foggy, and after reading this it all became crystal-clear about what part of me is my spirit and how can i help it, and it's a great opinion about what our Spirit is, wants, needs...And Sonia is a great writer and storyteller...she has an amzing talent of making you wish to live and see the magic, the harmony, the flow in everyday life...Makes you want to take your life and yourself more seriously.

One reason I like this little book on Spirit so much is because I like Sonia Choquette's spirit so much. She is full of life, honest, funny, poignant, joyous and quirky - all at the same time! The parts of the book that really spoke to me were on the way ego can interfere with our enjoyment of life. Lots of good things to think about and work on there. Highly recommended.

This was a sweet read. I expected more tangible exercises, but that's because I'm Ms Perfect who wants to be the best at everything I do, and the book soon taught me that this is just my ego talking. Once I'd accepted this was more of an anecdotal approach to finding your inner Spirit, it became something inexplicably lovely, like pulling a blanket over your legs while warming your hands on a cup of cocoa on a cold winter's day.

There was particularly one section that hit home in the strangest way ever. This section dealt with the Art of Speaking Kindly to Your Spirit, which undoubtedly is a difficult thing to master, and this is actually one part of the book where you DO practice it with an exercise. What you're supposed to do is to make a list with kind words to say to Spirit, like "I am glad that you are present", "I hope that you are comfortable", "Thank you for your grace" and the ever-so-powerful, "I love you". I read this, and told myself, consciously, the latter. As I did, I realized it was the first time I'd ever done so. I've never told myself "I love you" - and that was a tough and shocking insight. I mean, I (quite naturally) spend more time with myself than I do anyone else, and this has NEVER crossed my mind to tell myself?? That's so sad! But then again, I've never actually felt it before (yes, I know - again, that's quite sad).
In any case, I opened my nightstand drawer to see if I had a pen and paper there so I could finish my list... and on top of all the junk I keep there, I found a small pillow that one of the kids have given me at some point in time (ages ago). It's in the shape of a bright red heart, and on it, it reads "Love U". The timing was so perfect that it felt like some kind of message from the Universe. I have to admit it brought a tear to my eye, and I promised myself to stop being so hard on myself from now on.

Reading this book has actually made me appreciate and love myself more, and though I'm not completely there yet, I feel it has also given me the tool to look at life through more humble and forgiving eyes. It's not all about me, and as long as I do my thing and love myself and enjoy my life and what I do, I'll be fine. It's very soothing to be able to have that approach, and I think that's what it is to Live your Spirit. So yeah... the book definitely does what it promises.

I feel I was inspired to pick this book up and that the title on the book was what I was meant to understand. Love really is the answer. I've been looking for an answer as to how to sleep better and have more energy. It's as simple as loving myself. Nuff said. I don't feel this book reveled anything new. I felt like I just didn't connect w the author or her thoughts. Happy for her, that her thoughts help her. I'm not ready for some of her thoughts and that's ok. The imp. Thing is I got the message. Love myself and listen to what my body and spirit are telling me.

This was one of those books that I am SO glad that I own. I will be reading it again and again. Sonia Choquette inspired me to remember to take care of ME and in so doing, worlds opened to me again. In simple, beautiful ways, she reminded me to let my spirit take the lead. I cannot be more grateful.

This book is absolutely brilliant! It teaches us how to tune into and follow our hearts which is to follow the spirit of God. This book really clarified for me the difference between the ego and the heart. It really opened me up to recognising that I do and can hear and follow my heart. It has taught me a new level of trust that I hear the voice of God and am safe to follow it!!

I'm a fan of Sonia's, so I was pleased to find a new book. I enjoyed the simple, down-to-earth advice in this book, given in her loving and empathetic voice. The advice is simple but logical and things that are so simple that we just forget, like breathing deeper and laughing more often.

I'm reading this book for the second time. It's clearly of the self-help genre, but the piece that has been so helpful for me is her distinction between ego and spirit and the integration of spirit into one's daily life.

Wonderful, inspiring book. Sonia indeed speaks to and from the spirit. This will indeed be a book I will refer to for years to come. As with her other books, I have found the most benefit from reading and meditating are one section a day, enhancing my daily devotional.

Every time I read one of Sonia's books, I think it's the best one she's written. This was my favorite until I read The Power of Your Spirit.
