While on an Alaskan cruise, she means Dean Nash, a wounded veteran who is traveling with his service dog and a support group.

Jess and Dean are both bruised, suffering from old regrets, and facing life-changing decisions. They bond over their shared circumstances and love of their golden retrievers.

Dean invites Jess to join him on a trip to the beautiful San Juan Islands, where he is moving to undertake a new career and life. Surprising herself, Jess agrees to the trip.

Will their friendship and that of the tight-knit community who welcomes them, along with the gorgeous coastal sunsets, and the promise of a better future be enough to convince Jess to risk her heart and follow a new path?

I loved returning to the characters in my Hometown Harbor Series and bringing two new people to the quaint island community. I first wrote about Jess and Dean in Uncharted Waters and knew Jess needed a bigger story and couldn't wait to add her to the cast in this series.

Early readers love this one, including the sweet golden retrievers, Ruby and Rebel. Rebel is a service dog, who helps support Dean, a wounded veteran. This is a story of loss, love, and second chances...along with all the complications often found in families.

I hope you'll read it and if you enjoy it, leave a review. If you're new to this series, start with Finding Home, the first book or grab the FREE prequel, Hometown Harbor: The Beginning to get a taste.

I can’t tell you how happy I was to see another book in the Hometown Harbor Series. The characters have become friends and I hope the series continues forever. This book is the story of Jess and Dean and how they found each other during difficult times in their lives. As with all books in the series take place in the San Juan Islands of the Pacific Northwest, and tell the story of wonderful people who found friends and happiness together. Jess just retired from her teaching job and Dean was struggling to find his place in the world while dealing with PTSD, their lives meshed on a cruise, they both made life changes and found their place together. I was especially thrilled to see a character with my name, Margaret, first time ever lol, and reading about her trying to get her life back in order after losing her adoptive Mom and finding her Aunt Jess. Love, love, love

Of all the novels in Tammy Grace’s Hometown Harbor series, I think this book is my favorite. The themes are starting over, forgiving the wrongs of the past and embracing the unknowns of the future.

Jess Clark is still mourning the death of her mother when Jess makes the decision to sell her home on Mercer Island and move to the San Juan Islands, to start fresh and be with Dean Nash, a wounded veteran she met on an Alaskan Cruise. There is a scene in the book, where Jess is in her mother’s room, thinking about all the memories she felt she was leaving behind, when Kate comes up behind her and says: “Your sweet mom will always be with you. She’s the promise of a beautiful sunrise, the sweet smell of lilacs, the cool breeze on the back of your neck, and the soft flutter of a bird’s wings. You’ll feel her,” Kate pointed at her chest, “right here, forever.” How beautiful is this! So close to my heart, reminding me of my mom’s passing 18 years ago, that I know she is in my heart forever. Just a taste of the beautiful, emotion filled book that is “Follow Me Home”.

Tammy L. Grace creates strong characters that face adversity but never lose their heart, passion or generosity towards others. The scenes and relationships she creates are always original, realistic and inspirational. This one, book #7 in the Hometown Harbor Series will tug at your heartstrings. Jess is a mess after the curve balls life has thrown at her. She is recently retired, her son has shut her out of his life for years, her mother recently passed away and she just discovered her estranged sister died years ago. Traumatized as she is, she handles it all with patience and grace. Dean is a veteran dealing with military trauma and grief and is never without his beloved service dog. Their shared love of goldens helped them connect on the Alaskan cruise. Throwing caution to the wind, Jess takes a chance and moves to the San Juan Islands for a fresh start. Yes, Dean just moved there but Jess is moving for HER; to start a second chapter in her life with the wonderful friends she has made.

My heart is full! I started Follow Me Home by Tammy L. Grace on Friday night as I was going to sleep. I finished it on Sunday afternoon. I was so enamored with this book and had a hard time putting it down to go out to play cards Saturday night at our friend’s home. If you read Uncharted Waters from the Sail Away series, you definitely want to pick this book up. I couldn’t wait to read it but, I had some obligations before I could. I’m so glad I was able to hurry through them and take a nosedive into this book.

Jess and Dean meet on a cruise to Alaska. She has just retired from teaching and is struggling after losing her mom a short while before that. Dean is cruising with a group that has helped him after leaving the service. He had some physical injuries and has PTSD. I loved their story in Uncharted Waters and was excited to learn that it would be continued as book seven in her Hometown Harbor series.

Tammy L. Grace has the talent of creating such lovely settings for her books. I always have the urge to pack up my stuff and move to the small towns she writes about. The homes, the nature surrounding them, the friendly wonderful people you would gladly like to know and welcome into your own lives. I want to know these people and be a part of it. She always carries me away to a place I want to call home.

I enjoyed the opportunity to continue along with the story of Jess and Dean. They make a perfect couple. I loved seeing Jess figuring out her life and knowing what she wants to do with her retirement years. Her relationships grow and change for the better. I think we all feel a little lost when we lose our mothers and we struggle to understand what life is like without them. I have to admit I cried more than a few times while reading Follow Me Home. Having tissues by my reading chair is a must for me.

I highly recommend Follow Me Home whether you have read Uncharted Waters or not. You won’t be lost at all. Tammy did a beautiful job of giving you all the background you need. I think reading both as I did is just a huge added plus in getting to know these characters so much more. I loved spending time with them. Until next time…Happy Reading!

I was so excited to find out there would be another novel in Tammy Grace’s Hometown Harbor series. They always give me the feeling of coming home to old friends myself. I love every one of the wonderful characters, and now she has added two more to love! Her descriptions of the beautiful small cozy town of Friday Harbor set in the San Juan Islands, make me wish I could go for a visit myself, but to find and make such wonderful friends is truly the draw for me.

Jessica Clark (Jess) and Dean Nash meet on an Alaskan cruise. I first “met” them in Tammy Grace’s book Uncharted Waters, part of the Sail Away series which is written by multiple authors. With Jess’s mother’s recent death, as well as her ex-husband and son virtually out of her life, Jess now feels as though her life lacks purpose. Dean is a wounded veteran who has hidden demons of his own to battle after his last deployment and injury his struggle with PTSD is sometimes crippling. I fell in love with Jess and Dean and their Golden Retrievers Ruby and Rebel (Dean’s service dog), and their stories.

This is where their story continues as they navigate through their own struggles, while trying to figure out what comes next in their lives. When Dean accepts what could be his dream job in Friday Harbor (even though he has great anxiety about moving), Jess feels like she is going to lose him too. Any relationship, let alone a long-distance relationship isn’t exactly what she had pictured for her future.

Since I’m not one to give away the story, I will leave it there. You’ll have to read to find out how Jess and Dean navigate this next stage in their lives, and whether they can take their relationship to the next level! I love Tammy Grace’s style of writing and you can be sure her stories will be heartwarming with lots of furry friends included!

I thoroughly enjoyed this return to the San Juan Islands and the wonderful characters who populate this series. The books are so rich in details of both the place and the people that I feel like I've actually been there.

This seventh book picks up the story of Jess and Dean, first introduced in Uncharted Waters, part of the Sail Away Series. The two met by chance when she came to his rescue but found they had much in common and were both facing some significant life changes. As they get to know each other, they find they have other things in common as well, including a growing interest in each other.

Before disembarking, Dean shares his plans to visit Friday Harbor before relocating there for a job and Jess has surprised herself by agreeing to accompany him there for moral support.

What follows is a touching story about grown-up friendship, unexpected changes, hope, and second chances. Oh, and dogs. Love the dogs!

Dean and Jess were first introduced in Uncharted Waters. That book was part of a multi-author series but could be read as a stand-alone, and I was so glad I read that first so I understood how they met. Dean has accepted a job in Hometown Harbor and asked Jess to come with him when he checks out the area. They meet all the wonderful characters from the prior books and develop friendships. An unexpected chance to sell her house gives Jess the opportunity to move to the area, continue those friendships as well as deal with things from the past. Tammy L. Grace puts so much depth into the characters, including the dogs, and vividly describes the area that you feel you are there and know the characters. The prequel to the Hometown Harbor series was my first introduction to the author and I have since read everything she has written – one of my favorite authors!

Emotionally charged story with super characters including the dogs!

Jess meets Dean and his service dog on an Alaskan cruise to celebrate retiring from teaching. When Dean gets a chance to move to the San Juan Islands, she comes with him to help him look around. She loved it as much as he did, so when the chance came to move to the island, too, Jess packed up everything important including her golden retriever Ruby and moved too. Then even more changes happen. Read this to find out if the changes are good or bad!

The pace is engrossing and the tone is uncertain yet hopeful with a character centered storyline that has a few kisses only. The characters are vibrant and endearing like all the characters in this series. I look forward to seeing what happens next! Read the series in order so that you will get the most from it! Enjoy!

Jess and Dean met on a cruise. Both have endured hardships in their life. Dean suffers PTSD from the affects of military service. Jess survived a divorce and being abandoned by her so. After Dean relocated to the island Jess was impressed with the friendliness of the people she meets. Quick decisions allow her to move forward with her life. A surprise visitor connects Jess to her sister Erin. Rebuilding one’s life may be possible after all. This book contains themes of adversity, overcoming pain, rebuilding and hope for the future.

Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion

Follow Me Home

This book 7 was so interesting with Dean moving and Jack helping him get his new job. With Jess retiring and Jack helps her sell her mother's house and being able to buy the house by Izzy. Jake getting married and surprising his mom. All of the events in the town and her niece showing up. Many more adventures. Hope Tammy will continue to write these great books.

It was so nice to get re-aquatinted with the old characters, and meet the new ones. I’m hoping this series continues. With these wonderful characters, hopefully the stories are endless!!

Great Series.

When I read the first book in the Hometown Harbor series I fell in love with the town and the people. Each book in the series draws me in further. I feel as if I know these people. The close group of friends run the gamut of ages and backgrounds, but are always there for one another. You don't want to see it end.

awesome series

I loved this series …..loved all the characters and didn’t want it to end. It was a bit unrealistic….in that they all seemed to have plenty of money and gorgeous homes…..lots of “unknown family” coming and going…..but it all worked out for everyone in the end! If only!
But it was a fun and entertaining read!

I can never get tired of reading about the friends in the Hometown Harbor series. Each book focuses on a different couple. This book is about Jess and Dean. I love that they are older and found each other. I wish that I could move there and be part of the group.
