I thought this book was good because I love historical fiction. The reading age would probably be 4th grade and up. Ulysses Simpson Grant was born on April 27, 1822 in Point Pleasant, Ohio by Jesse Root Grant and Hannah Simpson Grant. What will Ulysses Simpson Grant do in his early life, presidency, and after presidency? Read the book to find out!!!!
I always enjoy the books in this presidential series but this one was even better than most of the others I have read. Lots of interesting facts about Grant's life and time in office. Such a fascinating person! I will have to get some "big people" books on him, possibly his own biography he complete shortly before his death with the help of his good friend Mark Twain.
I would use this book to talk about the life of Ulysses S. Grant. I would talk about the major contributions he had for the U.S. and also about important dates in his presidency.
