Nikki Knight and the Accidental Ghost Detective Agency should be getting ready for the mystery writers retreat at the Moonlight Mansion.

But when something other than Birdie’s pecan scones is found in the dining room, everyone is on the case.

With the appearance of one of the attendees’ dearly departed's body, Nikki, Dash, Audrey, Birdie, and Lacey are in a race against the clock to identify whodunnit in a room full of people who write this stuff for a living.

Not to mention a new detective sniffing around the case, more so than Danger Dog.

In the idyllic town of Frog Hollow Georgia, there is never a dull moment, but the bonds of family and friendship are as strong as roots sunk deep into the Georgia clay

Oh my gosh, that was just so much fun. Nikki faces a new police detective nemesis, some meddling in her love life, and yet another dead body. Who else can she count on to help her get the answers she seeks but her partners in crime (solving): the members of the Accidental Ghost Detective Agency. This was a deceptively twisty mystery that kept me guessing. I still wasn’t entirely sure we had the correct villain even during the big reveal. I’m loving these characters, though I’m not exactly a fan of the way that a couple members of the Agency trample all over Nikki. But, I still can’t wait to see what kind of shenanigans they get themselves involved in next.

When Nikki Knight inherited her grandmother Audrey's B&B, Moonlight Mansion, she didn't also expect to inherit Audrey's ghost. But she did. She also has a talking Dachshund, Dash, who believes he's royalty and acts like it. Along with her cook, Birdie, and her best friend Lacey, they've formed the Accidental Ghost Detective Agency, to solve the occasional murder.

But Nikki didn't expect to trip over the dead body in her dining room. Now she wants to know who hated a famous author enough to want to kill him. And when a new detective in town makes it known that she dislikes Nikki, it doesn't help her situation much. But Audrey insists they have an obligation to the dead man in order to get their B&B on the right track. But with a killer in their midst, it isn't going to be easy...

This is the third book in the series and I have to say that I enjoyed it immensely. Nikki is a great character, able to hold her own and think quick in situations calling for it. She doesn't knowingly run into danger, and tries to keep her investigations on the down low, so as not to irritate Detective Paine, even if she deserves it.

With the help of her inquisitive and talkative Dachshund Dash, he helps her in her queries as he acts as her eyes and ears around people she suspects, gathering his own form of 'doggy information.' The interaction between the two is quite humorous as well.

With the many suspects staying at the mansion, Nikki is looking for anyone who had a motive. But when she receives information from an unlikely source, it seems all of the people who are attending the retreat are guilty of wanting the man dead. But for Nikki, it's only a matter of time before one of them gives themselves away, and she's planning on sticking close to them until they do.

The ending is rather bittersweet, for killers have their own reasonings for murder; and still, the ending was perfect for this book. I look forward to the next in the series. Highly recommended.

I received an advance copy from the author and Whiskered Mysteries but this in no way influenced my review.

Who Killed Carl Adler ? . . .

In the midst of a mystery writers retreat at the Moonlight Mansion B&B, Nikki was completely surprised to discover the dead body of author Carl Adler -- with a pink satin sash tightly tied around his neck -- in her dining room. Nikki, Dash, Audrey, Birdie, and Lacey need to solve this one quickly. And the new detective who seems to dislike her will not be making things easy.

Join Nikki and the Accidental Ghost Detective Agency as they jump into action to do what they do best. Help them process the clues and find out who murdered Carl, not an easy task when the suspect pool is so large… and clever since they write about this stuff for a living!

It's the weekend of a writer's retreat at the Moonlight Mansion Bed and Breakfast in Frog Hollow, Georgia. Owner Nikki Knight is busy ensuring that all her guests receive the best experience, particularly as Luc Mitchell, Frog Hollow's resident author, booked the weekend retreat at the B&B. However, by Saturday morning, the dining room is a crime scene. The Accidental Ghost Detective Agency must solve another case.

Oh, it was wonderful to return to the B&B. The humans and furry faces are a delight. Each character has a distinctive personality. Birdie is the magic maker with the kitchen, her domain. My taste buds go into overdrive during menu and meal preparation descriptions, imagining sheer ambrosia. Dash and Honey attest to Birdie's perfect sausage snacks and are vital for quality control of each facet of the B&B and agency investigations. As a ghost, Nikki's grandmother, Audrey, can always be counted on for discreet listening.

Humorous adventures, paranormal delights of the talkative Dash, whimsical ghostly nature of Audrey, delectable menu creations, human and canine friendships, and budding romance blend flawlessly.

If this review is your introduction to the series, please begin with Book 1, "Scents and a Suspect." Thankfully, the little black and brown dachshund now answers to Dash. Still, learning of his royal descent and name, Prince Dasher Dangerdog Bean, and the creation of the detective agency will add the cozy mystery fun to each subsequent book in the series.

HINTS AND A HOMICIDE is the third installment in the Accidental Ghost Detective Agency series by Emmie Lyn. The characters are great, and the entitled dog and bossy ghost are definitely the entertainment.

Nikki Knight returned to her childhood home in Frog Hollow Georgia, to collect her inheritance, an old mansion she turned into a thriving Bed and Breakfast, Moonlight Mansion.

A B&B can attract a variety of people, even a mystery writer's retreat, Nikki's current event at the Moonlight Mansion. The first evening dinner was a little intense. The next morning Nikki is taking a breakfast tray of drinks and pastries to the dining room when she trips over a body.

Detective Paine, the new detective, arrives with a chip on her shoulder. She's already heard about Nikki's success at solving the last two murders and will brook no interference from Nikki. She starts her investigation with a heavy hand, alienating everyone.

It's going to take some good team work by the Accidental Ghost Detective Agency crew to find out who the murderer is and get Nikki out of the Detective's "hot seat".

Get ready some exciting sleuthing by none other than Prince Dasher Dangerdog Bean (Dash) and the bossy instructions from Audrey, the ghostly grandmother.

If you like murder mysteries, dogs with sass and attitude, and ghosts that insist on being involved in your life this book is for you.

Dash just gets cuter in each book, lol. This time he'd learned how to tell if someone was lying by watching a TV show in Birdie's room, silly pup! Sometimes it worked but he was just as surprised as anyone at the showdown. I'm not sure the new detective was much better than crusty ole Bud used to be. She definitely wasn't any easier to get along with, but at least she had it going for her that she liked dogs, something Bud never tolerated.

I loved the names Dash came up with for the scary detective and the weaselly reporter. His sniffer came in super handy as always especially helping find little Charlotte's favorite stuffie. Luc's side story of worry ended well and I was happy to see things going smooth for him--and possibly Nikki. Lacey was sure happy with her man now that they were official. I couldn't help thinking the book almost sounded like it could be the last book, but I was really hoping for more. I'll have to look around and see if I missed a memo about this being a limited series or not. I'd love to eventually see Will and Luc brought into the inner circle of all the Audrey and Dash goodness!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book provided by the author via NetGalley, and my opinions are my own.

This is the third book in The Accidental Ghost Detective mystery series. In this installment, The Moonlight Mansion B&B is hosting a weekend writer's retreat. Nikki Knight was hoping for a successful weekend, however, early morning on the first full day something terrible happened.. And now Nikki and her dog, Prince Dasher Dangerdog Bean, are on the hunt for a murderer once again after Nikki literally trips over the body of one of her guests in the dining room! Then she has to deal with her grandmother (a ghost) having the new ability of making her say things she doesn't want to say.. And this proves very inconvenient when she meets Frog Hollow, Georgia's new detective.. Hopefully she will be able to figure out who the killer was before the detective pins the murder on her!

This is a really fun series and I especially enjoyed this book as the mystery was solved between breakfast and dinner time.. I'm already looking forward to more books in this series!

There's never a dull moment in Frog Hollow, Georgia. Nikki Knight is getting Moonlight Mansion ready for a mystery writers retreat. But she soon has her own mystery when she finds a body in the dining room. She and the rest of the Accidental Ghost Detective Agency must find the killer before the retreat ends.

I received an ARC of this book from Booksprout and this is my honest, unbiased review. I've really enjoyed this series, and this book is a prime example of why. It's well-written and the characters are wonderful and intriguing in a place where small town life is captured. I always love returning to Frog Hollow and Moonlight Mansion. I was drawn into this charming read and kept captivated from start to finish. The mystery will keep you guessing. I'm very eager for more from this series. I highly recommend both book and series which I suggest you read in order.

Hints and a Homicide is the 3rd Book in the Accidental Ghost Detective series by Emmie Lyn.
I really love this series.

The town of Frog Hollow, Georgia is a quaint town but with many magical secrets.

Nikki is getting ready for a mystery writers retreat at Moonlight Mansion.

There is a lot of action in this book. The murder mystery was excellent.

I love the idea of the Ghost Detective Agency with the help of Nikki's ghost grandma.

The new detective adds another layer to the story which kept the tension high.

I loved following the clues and I love the animals in this story.

Can't wait for the next book in the series.

Nikki Knight is back with her family and friends, ready to solve another murder! With her ghost of a grandmother and a talking dog, Nikki is sure to be able to bring the murderer to justice.

This is such a fun series and anyone who loves quirky cozy mysteries should give these a try. Even though this is the third book in the Accidental Ghost Detectives series, it can be read as a standalone.

The author has created a great cast of characters and it's tons of fun to watch relationships develop and learn more about Nikki and her friends.

Prince Dasher Dangerdog Bean might cure me of wanting to be able to understand what my cat is telling me. As Nikki is finding out, sometimes it is better not to know. Emmie Lyn again has given us a mystery to solve and plenty of suspects. Actually I think it might be handy to have someone, something?, like Audrey to be able to listen in on conversations and to be able to follow someone without them knowing. Audrey is a fun ghost and I’m sorry for her limitations. I really have enjoyed this book and series and do hope they will continue.

Hints and a Homicide is a well plotted, very twisty mystery. With the body found in the dining room of Nikki's B&B and a new detective in town, the Accidental Ghost Detective Agency makes it a priority to solve this murder. I was well entertained as Nikki, Dash and crew deal with too many suspects, too many motives and the fact that these guest all author their own whodunits! I highly recommend this delightful book.

Hints and a Homicide book 3 and the end of this series?

Sorry to think this is the end of this series. Cashier was the most adorable dog in this story, even with the addition of Cookie, and the big toad in the wine cellar. Fortunately Lacey and Will are working on dating and are very happy with each other. Niks and Luc are also working a deep friendship. Nike also solved another murder mystery showing up the new detective.

Sausages, lots!

Dash had me laughing so hard,I think I snorted a few times! He and his sausage obsession, just too funny! Audrey’s abilities are growing, much to Nikki’s horror. Poor Nikki is on Scary Dragon’s list for people she doesn’t like a bit because Audrey puts words in her mouth. Literally. I hope we get the next book soon. I can’t get enough of these characters and stories!

The Accidental Ghost Detectives are definitely finding their way in this third book.

I enjoy all the sleuthing these ladies do together but I really wish we could get more of their individual stories. I know there has to be more to Birdie than being a great cook and manager. Where exactly did Prince Dash come from before the shelter?

I enjoy a fun, light read every now and then, I just hoped as the series progressed so would the characters and they'd be better developed.

Nikki Knight returns hosting a writer’s group in Moonlight Mansion. Unfortunately, there’s a dead body in the dining room and a new detective in town. As her name says she’s a Paine. Dash is pretty annoying and ghostly Audrey keeps putting words in Nikki’s mouth. But with a little help Nikki is determined to solve this murder so everyone can enjoy Birdie’s creations. Fun book, great characters.

This is such a cute series. I just love Dash, the dachshund that thinks he is a prince! It's nice to see the main character develop friendships, maybe even a little romance, and her bed and breakfast becoming successful. Their ghostly detective team is doing a fine job in a very fun read. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Another good one!

Yet again, Emmie Lyn has written a perfect whodunit. This time around, The crew has stumbled upon a murder at home. Can they figure it out before the " scary dragon lady".
I hope you read this series from the beginning. I know I can't wait for the next book.

Great!

There are so many suspects in this story it takes a lot of detecting to sort them. Each has their own reason to have done it. It's quite remarkable that they all get untangled!

Very nice cozy mystery series with a woman that can hear her talking Dachund, her grandmother that is a ghost and good friends. This story has a man's body found by the main character after she trips over in the morning, a detective that Nikki & Dash name "Dragon Detective".
