Vote Christian: Biblical Principles for Voting

Rate this book
In 1788, former president of Harvard University Samuel Langdon delivered an election day sermon. In his address he warned Americans to "let not men openly irreligious and immoral become your legislators; for how can you expect good laws to be made by men who have no fear of God before their eyes, and who boldly trample on the authority of His commands?" His admonition is needed just as much today as it was 230 years ago. In Vote Christian , Chris Hume provides a Christian framework for selecting civil rulers. Biblical and principled in its approach, this book will cut through the confusion and compromise that has plagued evangelicals at the polls.

One elder in a Reformed church had this to "Chris Hume is Puritanical. I say this with admiration and as a compliment, certainly not as criticism. His dedication to seeing God’s Word applied to all of life—like the Puritans—shines throughout in his latest book, Vote Christian. If you want to wrap yourself in the American flag (or any other) and hope for salvation through your political leaders, read this book at peril of being disabused of that notion."

Excellent book Christians should read and act on.

This book goes to the Bible and proves that we are not honoring God's word when we vote for compromised leaders. We must obey God rather than men is true in all of life. And yes, even in the voter's box. In short, voting the lesser of two evils isn't biblical it's fleshly. We must repent.
