Please check trigger warnings before reading this book - there’s child abuse, r@pe, human trafficking, etc. etc. i liked the idea of this book a bit more than its actual execution. The characters fell into love too quickly, and Julia suddenly changed Scar dramatically in under two weeks time. I hate when things are too insta-love and fixed quickly. Scar was abused horribly for over a decade, but Julia listening to him makes it almost all better? It just felt too quick and not deep enough. I found some parts awesome to read, and then in other parts the dialogue and inner monologues were cheesy. Overall it just felt inconsistent. I am semi interested in Nitro so I will probably give the second book a shot.

DNF @ about 30%. I listened to this on audible and I can't do it any longer with the female narrator. The voice is so fake, I can't get past it. Why can't these people use their own voice instead of trying to read a whole book in a fake voice that comes and goes and doesn't sound like any person that ever actually said words? Maybe if the voice was like that just when she was talking but to listen to it when it's her inner monologues was too much for me.
But even beyond the voice, the story itself is nonsensical mumbo jumbo of vague psychic abilities, implausible coincidence, and a heroine that is TSTL, really. Even if I was just reading this book, instead of listening, the dnf outcome would have been the same.

This was an exciting start to a new series and for me, a first for this author's contemporary work. I usually read her paranormal stories so I was quite thrilled to check this one out. I'm glad I did. This story takes Julia, a school nurse, and has her 'kidnapping' a boy that has been repeatedly abused to keep him safe. Of course, his father had connections and off to the Underground Vengeance MC for help she went. What she couldn't have predicted was how hot and instant the connection between her and Scar was. Fab twist to her quest and I loved how they all worked together to keep the boy safe. A smoking hot HEA was the icing on the cake for me and I can't wait for the next book to come out :D

I had to DNF this book because it was SO cringe. I knew it was a romance driven book, and I enjoy those, but I did not sign up for “reads minds and sees auras.” Even more, the FMC KIDNAPS A CHILD. Again, this is a biker book, so I expected some breaking the law, but this was a bridge too far. The writing is cheesy, the plot is wild, and not in a good way. I just couldn’t. I called it quits after she went into the MMC room, he tried to kill her after a bad dream and she wasn’t phased at all and hugged him in bed.

I loved the hidden depths of these characters. Scar and the motorcycle club may look like the thugs everyone assumes that are but they have hearts of gold, mostly, and a little something extra. Julia crashes into Scar’s life knowing she is in trouble but not realizing just how much. Instant attraction brings them together, but as they spend time together protecting an innocent they fall, hard fast and explosively. While the big baddie reeks havoc for Julia and the gang, Julia and Scar spend time together and we get more backstory for Scar and the MC. The other guys begin to burrow into your heart. You can see an overarching storyline building, but what and who will we get to know first.

This is the first I've read from this author and while it was good, I would not read it again. The author does write a good story, but it had a mish mash of things that needed work. The book added a brief period of paranormal that made me stop and read the blurb again as I didn't know where the author was going with it. It was an unnecessary tangent that didn't need to be included. There is also a total disregard for the process of how investigations are handled or how laws are applied and carried out. This made for good fiction, but was not believable.
Then there were little things like Julia suddenly disappearing from a job she loves, but it is never mentioned again. She never resigned, made an excuse for not being there or even returned to her own home. She just walked away from her life, ended up with a closet full of clothes that fit her and the reader is expected to accept it as written. Yes, it is fiction, but I need to be able to believe it.

good read
A good read but feel it could have been fleshed out a bit more with action against those police and traffickers. Also scar losing his temper so often was a right turn off, especially as his target of rescue was abused women and children. Good read but with reservations.

I really liked the start of the book until around half of it, after that point it just turns pretty irrational and repetitive.
First, it feels this book doesn’t know what genre wants to be or what kind of being the characters are. It is a novel about a motorcycle club (MC), and it is supposed the characters are human, but later they talk about powers. Which for me, it is pretty cool however they don’t give any explanation for those powers or context or any kind of information, like everyone has powers or just a few because they got experimented in…? Nothing. Then later on the characters act like this is a paranormal romance where the characters are shapeshifters in constant heat, because they can’t keep a straight thought at all, they see a bit of skin, a look from the male/female character, and that is all, they can’t control themselves which after certain point find too unrealistic to take anything seriously.
The male character had a very dark traumatic childhood, so I can understand the changes of mood, fear and instability, however the big reveal of his horrible escape felt flat and lacking information, I still don't know how they ended up where they were. I find the female character a very irrational character, at the start it was nice, but later she says one thing and the next she is doing another, she doesn’t seem to be able to hold him accountable for anything that he does or have a mind of her own because she sees him and that is all it takes for her to get hot and forget everything which after a while I found quite annoying.
I was hugely disappointed with the brotherhood between the guys, Reaper is loyal and trustworthy (he is the best) but Nitro and Talon were missing when needed and Nitro even pull a stunt half way, he behaved super childish and irrational.

Got this book during a stuff your kindle event so i didnt have high hopes as quite a few books i got from the deal weren’t ones i enjoyed. But maybe i’m a little bias as this is my first MC book i’ve read.
I will admit the auras, and special abilities all the characters seemed to have really threw me off as it wasnt in the book description at all. I wasnt sure i was going to continue but wanted to know what was going to happen to Max so i persevered.
It would have been a five star read for me if not for the auras/psychic abilities but also because of the insta love feel. For the mmc to have SO much trauma but be willing to just jump into the thing he’s avoided the most, happiness, with the fmc it was weird.
One thing i dislike the most is a pregnancy trope, mainly when it feels like it needs to be a requirement for an HEA and this one felt forced. For me, it would have been better if they stayed dating and since this book is a series to have them be pregnant later on in the story. I mean, it seems out of character to have the mmc have a baby before getting rid of blackstone…
But with all that said i practically finished this book in two days as i was SUCKED in. Definitely going to check out the next book, the third one sounds super interesting too. I hope the series gets better and doesnt go downhill from here!

Hardcore MC- dark romance
This is the first book in what is going to be an amazing MC series. The Underground Vengeance MC is all about redemption and saving those who can’t help themselves. These men have been through and hell and back for many years so their back stories are quite hard to read at times. They all have their own stories to tell and I can’t wait to read them all.
In this story we meet Scar the prez of the MC and he has a lot of darkness within him but when Julia shows up with a boy from her school Max who needs rescuing from his father the sheriff Scar doesn’t hesitate to take them and keep them safe. However, trying to keep the sheriff and the FBI away from them is never easy. However, the feelings Scar has for Julia is something he never thought his life would permit. She understands him and takes him with all his baggage. He doesn’t think he deserves her but Julia is not giving up! Julia has always helped those she can and being a school nurse has allowed her to do just that. Scar is going to be her biggest challenge but she won’t let him push her away. This is an intense and emotional story but you will fall hard for these men. They are strong, supportive, loyal, and passionate about those that mean everything to them. Happy Reading!!

I actually enjoyed this book, but thought it was rather confused about what genre it was at times!
There were times, especially in the beginning it strayed into PNR but then this disappeared about 1/3 of the way in not to be mentioned again. The MC even staring at one point that he didn’t believe in magic (despite being able to read people’s minds apparently!!)
Take that confusing little element away though and otherwise it’s a strong storyline. Not hugely MC like in its depiction but nevertheless it has an enticing and exciting storyline that is completed in the book, whilst simultaneously setting up a storyline that I think will carry through all the books in this series perhaps.
I liked Scar even though I did feel he was a little selfish at times, yes he had a history but he was always so willing to walk away from Julia “for her own good” and she didn’t exactly out up a fight when taking him back which does frustrate me somewhat.
Enjoyable and I will look out for the next in the series.

What a brilliant new series.
Oh my gosh this was such a dark , intense kick ass read. It got my blood pumping and my heart racing. Scar the President of a motorcycle club has only ever known pain at the hands of an evil and corrupt man from such a young age. Though vengeance fuels through his blood his heart is stone cold, locked and shackled. Julia a school nurse who is sworn to protect all under her care, goes on the run with one of her students. She will do anything to protect him. Especially from his deranged father who just happens to be the sheriff. When they stop off to eat a bar all hell breaks loose when the sheriff comes looking for his son. Desperate she pleads with Scar to help her. Their lives will never be the same again. She unlocks all the heartache that he has had to endure. The connection they feel for one another is powerful, mind blowing and hotter 🔥than hell.
This is such an intense read with such a beautiful happy ending you'll want more!!.

The story was great, emotional, interesting and well written.
There was steaminess (Lot of it), Action, Suspense and all kind of emotions involved.
I loved the writing style of Liv Brywood and i will definitely read more from the author, as well as the rest of the series, since all secondary characters were great. I also loved the epilogues.
After you have read more than 500 books, the plots are more or less close, what makes a good book is the author's writing style and the ability to offer something different to the reader. This book had both.
There is mentioning of abuse (In many instances) and i really want to see how the ongoing through the series plot will end.

Awesome
Oh my what a awesome story that I have really enjoyed. This is a must reads by this author. I'm a fan from now on. The story has strong and brave women. Men who fight for what they consider is theirs. And of course their steamy connections. There are interesting and humor twists in the story lines; which are fast paced, especially this story, but I hope all of her stories are just as good.so I'm happy that I enjoyed reading this author. This one is intriguing with enjoyable plot ending in a somewhat cliffhanger. But along with their sizzling hot passions this will keep you turning pages until the end. I enjoy every moment of the story couple relationship they are the ones that I can't put my reader down until I finished the story if are like myself you will enjoy it because are definitely excellent romances.

Great Story
This book is more than the typical MC Romance stories out there. It's not just a lot of kinky sex and drama. This story is deep, and the basis of the story is healing and overcoming intense personal trauma. It's got mystery, action, suspense, dark drama, hot sex scenes and bad-ass bikers. And the author injected humor in the right places throughout the story, to lighten the heavier topics. It's a great read with a perfect h.e.a. ending to the first book, but still with just enough unfinished business left in the background that it intrigues you to read the rest of the series to see what else happens. I look forward to reading more of this series.
Note: It has descriptions of dark criminal actions, most of a pedophilic nature. If you have triggers surrounding abuse, child abuse or sex crimes, then this story is not for you.

I adored this book!! Scar was so haunted and broken by his past but also President of an MC Club and helps Julia with Max an abused kid she kidnapped from his abused father. These 2 have chemistry that is off the charts!! The heat is amazing the fights are amazing..lol everything made me keep reading more and more. I loved the other MC brothers as well and hope they get their own books.
There was a larger issue that sets up the scene for upcoming books.
There is violence and light spanking.
But to me this book had it all: action, drama, bit of mystery, chemistry, and steam.

Scar and Julia!
This was my first book by this author and I loved it! It didn’t seem like a paranormal story, but some characters had different abilities, including Scar, Julia, and some of the MC men.
From the moment they laid eyes on each other, Scar and Julia felt a pull. They were instantly attracted to one another, and Scar felt a strong need to keep Julia safe. The baggage from Scar’s past threatens their budding relationship, and he struggles with processing how he feels about her and his need for vengeance. Their chemistry is explosive, leading to some steamy spicy scenes! I loved it. I am looking forward to the rest of the series.

As the school nurse, Julia did everything she could to help Max when he told her his father was abusing him. Unfortunately his father is the sheriff and he got away with it. Now it’s the last day of school and Max is supposed to spend the summer with his father. Julia can’t bear to see him hurt again so she takes him with her. At a diner she meets Scar, who protects her without question. Scar is the president of an MC that protects kids the law can’t or won’t help. Scar is a complicated character whose past dominates everything he does and threatens a future with Julia.

This book had so much potential but the author dropped the ball in the details.
Lots of inner turmoil of Scar and Julia but that’s where the story is boring. I wanted to know what the club members went through as young boys but the author on hints at thing that could have happened.
There was a little action and intrigue but not much.
The author should have done a prologue with a little bit more information on what the boys were going through.
It was repetitive inner dialog of, oh I’m not good enough, I’m a monster blah blah blah shit

Talk about doing a 180... Scar goes from a big bad biker, hell-bent on revenge, to... sorry, no spoiler here. Scar rescues Julia, the school nurse, as she's trying to rescue Max, a student who's being abused by his father, the local sheriff. I read these books out of order, with Nitro, Matrix and Talon first. So I went into Scar knowing the general premise, and a lot of the details of the other club guys. And I loved this book as much as the others. It's as gritty as it gets with a MC romance, with suspense, violence, and past abuse. The author pulls it all together, with some very happy endings.

Didn't think much as I started the book, but have to say it kept me hooked. Scar is as his name says, full of anguish & pain. Julia is a strong woman who has a helping nature. Wow, this was such an emotional ride. Scar and Julia were really good together. Scar had so much emotional baggage to work through, but he was determined to help Julia at all costs. The trauma of Scar's childhood runs so deep that he finds himself lost to it often, but Julia is someone who connects with him on a level that nobody else does. These two are perfect together.really great start to this new series!.

Scar is President of the Montana Chapter of the Underground Vengeance MC. As children, Scar and the rest of the club were all taken in from the foster system by a sexually deviant man who is still out there. Their main club objective is to take abused children and somewhat like the Underground Railroad, find appropriate parents. Julia is a school nurse and has watched signs of abuse on Max, but reporting it has done nothing because his Dad is the Sheriff. She decides to run with Max and finds Scar. Really good read!.

Good story
This was a good read, but I got lost in the missing details. What happened to Julia's car with Max's backpack that was parked at the bar? Surely the sheriff department would have run the plates and looked in car windows if looking for a missing kid? Then there were everyones paranormal abilities. Never discussed, never shared. Scar was the only one to tell, but Julia never said she could see auras. I liked the beginning, Scar ruined the middle, and I was ok with the end. Hopefully this series will solidify.

First, a tiny pet peeve. No one says "hum" unless they are talking about humming. It should be"hmm ".
Okay, moving on. While I believe there is more to our world than we could begin to know, I find it odd that all the so-called good guys in this book have some odd supernatural gift.
And last, the thing that noped me out of this, is that after getting this far, with all the clues she's had, and the benefits she's received because of it, Julia only now realized the MC is a vigilante group and disapproves. Duh.

I usually don’t rate these kinds of books but, dear gods, Scar and Julia were so fucking annoying for like 70% of this.
I’m not gonna lie, I enjoyed this book but Julia completely forgetting why she was even there pissed me off. Like, girl, stop thinking about that man’s dick for ONE SECOND!! We’re trying to save a child here. And don’t even get me started on how in denial Scar was. I’m all for the plot line a man having to learn how to love, but oh. my. god. GET A FUCKING GRIP!!!

Scar
Although this book is an MC book, I feel it should list that it’s a fantasy book as well. Was not expecting them to have “gifts” like communicating with animals and seeing into the future.
I wasn’t a fan of the push and pull between Scar and Julia. I could understand once or twice but every time he decided they shouldn’t be together, he turned into an A S S, but in the next breath get it on with her.
There were some sweet parts that I really enjoyed, but this book unfortunately was just not for me.
