Why Didn't I Learn All This Parent Stuff Sooner?: A Mother-Baby Nurse's Guide
In this book, I cover all the things I wish I had known before having a baby! I wanted to take a lot of the topics and frequently asked questions I address on my TikTok page (@karathebabynurse) and put them all in this book to be a quick reference for parents. Bringing a baby home can seem daunting–but knowledge and preparation is key!
From my experience as a mother-baby registered nurse over the last few years and mom of three, there’s a lot of things I’ve learned over the years. I cover everything from what to bring to the hospital, baby feeding, baby sleep, what to expect bringing a newborn home, postpartum support, and more. I talk about how to advocate for yourself during what can be a difficult time in the hopes of making the transition easier!

I bought this for $5 because I follow her on Instagram! Overall it was pretty basic and there were three things she tells you to do a web search for. I’m reading your book so I don’t have to do a web search! Will continue to follow her on Instagram for tips :)

I love watching Kara’s reels on Instagram and I have learned a lot from her, but this book was a bit of a let-down since almost every section simply told you to look up answers somewhere else. I fully understand that standards change over time and I think Kara was trying to make sure she didn’t include outdated information, but it would have been more useful as a parent to be able to use this book as a resource if the information were already included within it.
