Mairi Mackinnon has lived in England, Scotland, France, Italy and Spain, and worked as a teacher, translator and tour manager before joining Usborne. Over the years she has written and edited Usborne books in sixteen languages, from Arabic to Welsh. She lives in a house full of teenagers, books and curious musical instruments.

A simple and fun story, with nice illustrations. My son seems to like it.

The sun and the end is a rendition of one particular Aesop's fable. On a bright sunny day by the beach, the sun and the wind debate on which of them is stronger, and put their strength to test on the folks on the beach. The book ends with one clear winner and a sore loser.

There seems to be no great moral attached to the story, but is a good read with beautiful illustration and minimal text.

Frank loved this.... It is just an Aesop's Fable retold, but at the end it has three fun little activies, like find what's different between two pictures, and match the picture with a description.
