I’ve always hidden what I a djinn. It doesn’t matter that I can’t grant wishes, I'll be hunted if anyone finds out.
I thought my secret was safe. Then Chicago’s most dangerous crime lord walked into my life.
Damian Malek knows the truth, and he's forcing me to work for him in return for his silence. There’s no way I can say no. He practically runs this city, and his pockets are as deep as his underworld connections. He’s lethal, handsome, and untouchable—and if that wasn’t bad enough, a Fallen Angel.
The problem I’m a cop. If I get caught working for him, I’ll lose my job and wind up in prison. But if I refuse, Malek will reveal my secret to the world.
I’m ready to risk it all and turn him down, but when my best friend goes missing, I know he’s the only one with the power to get her back.
With the clock ticking down, I’m going to have to make a devil’s bargain with a dark angel and pray that I’m not too late to save my friend—or myself.
This box sets contains all four books of Magic The Storm. This action-packed urban fantasy adventure is set in the Dragon’s Gift World created by Linsey Hall. It features a slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers romance that culminates with a HEA in book four.
Veronica Douglas is a duo of professional archaeologists that love writing and digging together. After spending an inordinate amount of time doing painstaking research for academia, they suddenly discovered a passion for letting their imaginations go wild! A cocktail of magic, romance, and ancient mystery (shaken, not stirred), their books are inspired, in part, by their time in Chicago and their archaeological adventures from around the globe.
I loved the story line and found the series entertaining. The characters were well developed and the romance developed very slowly. The reason I didn't give the series 5 stars is because I felt like Neve was kind of dumb. I felt like she was arrogant. I didn't understand why when she realized things weren't going well with her magical enhancement she didn't do anything but internalize it. I mean, didn't she find a book about djinn in the Air Realm? Did she read any of it? Wasn't there information on djinn in any of the libraries? What made her think her parents would know anything? How did the bad air djinn know Neve's parents were still alive if they had been prisoners in the earth realm for 15 years and air djinn don't do well in the earth realm, so he wouldn't have gone there?
The only reason I let all those questions go is because the whole series takes place in a very short amount of time with a lot of things happening. So I attribute Neve's lack of forethought and common sense on exhaustion. Overall the series is interesting and worth reading.
good pace and interesting characters in a great world
Nice light links to some of Lindsey Hall’s stories. Strong characters with fast moving plots Some interesting inclusion of new powers with genies and other critters.
Fabulous journey and excellent adventures await for you reading experience. Enjoyed reading these books! Love the characters, the except oneself and growing from the experiences of our choices in life.
This was the best series so far. There was so much intrigue and character growth and drama and I just... I loved it. I am sure I will read it again. I adore those characters.
