Welcome to my 3rd full walkthrough on TrueAchievements. I'll be your guide and host through this stellar game. What Remains of Edith Finch is undeniably a walking simulator, but also one of the best (if not the best) walking simulators ever made. If you are like me and you value good story telling and truly unique gameplay then Edith Finch is the game for you. It is a daring attempt to breathe some life into a stagnant genre and succeeds in every category imaginable. I highly, highly recommend it. It reminds me a lot of "A Series of Unfortunate Events". As well as being a superb game, it's 1000G is incredibly easy and requires very little effort. We will be unlocking 9 of the 10 achievements in our first (and only) playthrough, and the last in a very quick replay of a specific chapter (this ability is unlocked after completing the game once all the way through.) Achievements come in the form of miscellaneous achievements, for the most part, which are tied to specific chapters (or story vignettes) in the game, as well as 1 for collectables, 1 for finishing the game, 1 for watching the credits, 1 for taking both paths at the very beginning, and 1 for replaying a chapter. If you miss a miscellaneous achievement, a chapter select feature is available after the completion of the game and requires very little backtracking.
VIDEO GAME REVIEW: Please fret as this marks the beginning of my foray into a new entertainment domain. After I get my scrum certification I will be technologically unconquerable. This game follows this gal Edith who goes back to her family mansion in a rural seaside setting. Mysterious af. The situation: her family members have all died in really out there and honestly probably very preventable ways. I want to shout out all the dead family members for having SICK ROOMS. Honestly crazy interior deco like better than any Disney channel room. Special mention to Milton who lived in a teeny turret, Lewis’ psychedelics den, and Barb who decorated her room with posters of herself (I appreciate vanity always). When Barb was a thespian, I related. When Milton had an overactive imagination, I thought he’s rly just like me. When Walter spent his life in the basement, I tried to speed through that part actually. PHENOM animation, especially when they got more creative at the end. To be honest some of the deaths were p predictable, and dragged on a bit though. Fav death: Barbara. Literally what happened. They told me nothing and the gameplay took 5 minutes to get through. Big Halloween slasher fan. Wayyyyyy better than gone home. Bgqn approved.
Shout out to Alex for giving me his switch. He asked me to pay but I didn’t and he hasn’t said anything yet.
