While collaborating with her sister on some of their family genealogies and publishing them, Annie Cilley of Maine started collecting genealogical information on her husband’s family. With her other books published, she worked 8- and 10-hour days on her CILLEY genealogical book project when her family activities permitted her to do so. All of the 100s of entries in “The Cilley Family” by Jonathan P. Cilley (1878) are included in Annie’s 1st volume on CILLEY genealogy, with several corrections. She also includes dozens of CILLEY genealogical entries from the book “History of the Town of Andover, New Hampshire, 1751-1906” by John R. Eastman (1910) and from other New England town history books. Moreover, in addition to her contacts with archived genealogical sources, Annie Cilley also pursued extensive contacts with Cilley family members, many of whom were keenly interested in CILLEY genealogy. These contacts included Clifton C. “Kip” Cilley, Sr. (1922-2004) of Colebrook, NH and my cousin Dean Loyal White (1930-2006) and retired Prof. Richard N. Cilley (author of “History and Genealogy of the Cilley Family 1563-1878”). Prof. Cilley is the father of Mark Cilley who established and maintains a Web page ‘The Cilley Pages’ http://www.cilley.net/thecilleypages/. Annie M. Cilley is the author of “The Cilley Family Roots in New England: A Genealogical Workbook,” Vol I (1996, Family History Publishers, 820 pages) and Vol II (2004, Higginson Book Company, 786 pages).
