I love the focus on the natural world and children's spirituality interpreted as a rich inner life, something unique to the child, their own special world of grace.
I really don't think you can get much cuter than Tasha Tudor's illustrations. Lovely images to a wonderful chapter in Scripture.

Tasha Tudor's beautiful beaucolic artwork actually works as a wonderful compliment to a pastoral psalm like Psalm 23. Obviously not what the Psalmist had in mind, but simply, sweetly evocative. My favorite is the pages for "I shall not want.", depicting a beehive in a garden, then a load of bread, apples, honey, and a pitcher, and then a little girl sitting down to eat that bounty from the earth, while below her a mother corgi contentedly feeds her litter. With her love of nature, Tudor could obviously relate to the images in the psalm, and does a great job illustrating this. The book would be terrific for helping kids study the psalm, or a sort of short reflectional devotional for adults even. I want to just keep reading and rereading it, and studying the gorgeous artwork.
I love this book! My aunt gave it to me when I was about six or seven, preparing for my First Communion, and I pored over the beautiful illustrations and the peaceful text of the psalm, over and over again. I love the happy little details that Tasha Tudor always adds to her books--like little animals peeping out from the straw or the underbrush--and the generally harmonious world that she creates. Excellent for little ones as soon as they are able to listen, and also a great bedtime (or anytime) book for older ones who can read. The 23rd Psalm never really gets old, does it?
The most cherished of psalms is interpreted here by one of America's most beloved illustrators. "The pastoral scenes, liberally scattered with rabbits, turtles, chipmunks, and dogs, provide a serene backdrop for a book that children and adults will enjoy together.Tasha Tudor's gentle watercolors beautifully highlight this well-known psalm."...
