Sound: Loud, Soft, High, and Low is a book to help children discover the world of sound. Students and children will learn how sound is created through vibrations that vary in pitch and volume. This book deserves 4 stars as it is unique and intriguing for children. The book would be a great book to read aloud or involve movement while reading the book. It truly relates to science and experimenting with sound.

This is a non-fiction book. This book is very detailed with its layout. I love that in the back of the book it gives you experiment ideas that you could use with sound. And it also gives a list of vocabulary. Since this is an informative book I would use this for a writing activity. The children could use the vocabulary in their writing of this topic that we had just learned.

This book explains what sound is, how it is created, how the volume is controlled, and what causes it to have different pitches. This book is not a terribly hard read. I think it could be an interesting introductory read when first introducing sound to children. However, it would not be beneficial for older students more knowledgeable about sound because they would be bored by the simplicity of the book.

This is a great book to use when doing a science lesson on sound. It covers the key works such as vibrate, pitch, sound, high, low, soft, and loud.
For the lesson, you could have students shake (Easter) eggs thet have different things inside of them, such as: yarn, coins, paperclips, q-tips, jelly beans, marbles, etc. Children will guess what is in the eggs by listening to the sound it makes.

Extend lesson: have studetns write scentences with the key vocab words in them. For 1st and 2nd grades, write the vocab words on the whiteboard and add to the word wall.

This picture book breaks down the concepts of sound and how sound travels for young learners. The author also addresses pitch, sound waves, and other facts. The GPS content standards this book will help to satisfy are as follows: S1P1, S4P2. Though it satisfies some first and fourth grade level requirement standards, this book is good for preparation and review of sound concepts across grades Pre-K through 5.

An excellent book that introduces sound! It talks about how sound is everywhere and really engages students in the lesson. It has great illustrations and also comes in Spanish!
