This review is of “Wildfire” by Carol Finch.
The book begins in St. Louis, 1805. It is here that a family is trying to go west. The family consists of Justin Carver, his son Russ, and Justin’s stepdaughter Alexa, 21, the heroine of the book. The men have just returned from an unsuccessful attempt at hiring a wilderness guide, and Justin has decided to “encourage” Alexa to go see the guide, Keane Rawdon, the hero of the book, to try to change his mind.
