Good fun if you're twelve and think that love excuses everything. But once you get older, you'll start to realise that this isn't romantic. This isn't romantic at all. This is abuse and, as is sadly often the case, Japanese mangaka seem to be condoning it, because your boyfriend is controlling your life, and, well, isn't that just so gosh-darned sweet of him?

The only difference between the actions of Kyo and all the other men who target Misao is that Misao is in love with Kyo. The fact that she is in love with Kyo means it's ok for him to manipulate and abuse her, control her life, forbid her from seeing people she's friends with, keep important information about her life and wellbeing from her, invade her privacy, make sexual advances the second she turns sixteen, force her into a corner until she agrees to marry him and bear his children and then top it off by acting like that's all good for her.

The fact that Misao is in love with Kyo means their relationship is healthy and she should be allowed to stay with him.

I can't believe that every single character in this manga seems to believe the above and subsequently have complete disregard for Misao's mental health, emotional wellbeing and human rights, and instead regard her merely as an object. Including Kyo. Scrub that. Especially Kyo. I don't care if he loves her. He needs to be arrested.

When it comes to romance for young girls, you'll tend to find popular series that portray unhealthy relationships that are glossed over and glamorized as normal and acceptable.

Black Bird is one of those series.

There really isn't a plot in this story nor is there any character development within this manga. Black Bird is about the head of the Tengu clan named Kyo trying to kill anyone who gets in between him and Misao, who happens to be this 'Holy Fruit', just so he can sleep with her.

I wouldn't have a problem with this series if Kyo wasn't a controlling, abusive, sex fiend. He touches her when she doesn't want to be touched, makes snide remarks about sleeping with her, and tells her who she can and can't talk to. In a nutshell, he is a dominating control freak.

One example is when she is taking a bath and he gives her his clothes because he 'doesn't want her to wear clothes of another man.'

Another one is when she is not paying attention to him and he doesn't like it, so he 'punishes' her by kissing her and doing what he pleases with her body as she protests.

There are times when she is unconscious, and he is kissing her naked body. Folks, if the person is, anyway, unable to verbally and mentally give consent, then that's sexual assault.

What's horrible about his whole thing is that it's attempting to be cute and funny when it's not. It's not cute, funny, or romantic when a man makes a woman uncomfortable by touching her when she does not want to be touched.

I did give Misao credit because in the beginning, she doesn't love him and wanted nothing to do with him. She believes he doesn't want her for who she is but rather because she is this 'Holy Fruit'. Naturally, she has every right to believe that. She has enough sense to slap him, kick his knee, or push him away when she says no every time he advances on her.

The problem, as the series continues, is she falls in love with him. It's dangerous because this behavior creates societal expectations for men and women.

It causes men to think that women say 'no' but never mean it. It's dangerous for women, who actually don't want to be in a relationship because they get unwanted attention with stalking and constant pressure (from men and the rest of society) into saying yes. And can you blame them? After endless, nonstop attempts, of course she's going to give up and stop resisting. Saying no doesn't matter. What a woman says doesn't matter, because she's so 'inconsiderate' of a man's feelings. How dare she say no!

This is Misao's fate. She resists and tries to set boundaries with Kyo only to give up and surrender to his feelings.

Kyo is a creepy sex fiend. That's all there is to it. During his childhood he made sure he was the head of the house so he could marry her. To physically stay close to her he moved next door to her as her neighbor. He even becomes a teacher at her school.

I know sometimes the manga intends to bring humor when Misao slaps Kyo during his advances but honesty . . . it's not funny. Not even close.

If you look at the setup for this story, it shouldn't be a surprise that it's not good. The story is setup for a failed romance. Think about it. A romance between a girl who is this predestined bride and a demon who makes a choice between loving her for who she is or forcefully taking her to bring prosperity to his clan. It puts the heroine in a scenario where she has to accept one of her competitors or die from a rejected demon who kills her to prevent her from becoming someone else's bride.

So no matter what Misao says, it's a lose-lose situation for her. And all for the 'prosperity' of a demon clan.

And what's alarming is that you have plenty of book and manga series that are similar like this but super popular. Which is sad. I just hope women read this and don't desire a relationship like this because this is not okay.

I swear I've read multiple manga that were 95% the same as this.
Teen girl is special in a way that attracts bad-whatever but gives her no powers. Also she has no personality aside from being vaguely nice. Dark-haired guy with supernatural power protects her while being controlling and making unwanted sexual advances.

Kyo was less of an a@@hole than some of these "romantic" leads, but it was just as annoying. The two were childhood friends so he could have simply taken up the friendship again rather groping her breasts and giving orders. They could have had a cute romance instead of a generic abuse-excusing fake-tension plot.

The 'relationships' in this book are gross. The whole premise is that this girl is super-power for demons. If they eat her, drink or blood or marry her they get stronger.

She gets no power out of this. She is inept at anything and is constantly being hurt by even minor demons. She has no real power to stop the human looking heads of clans that come to marry her. One of the demons 'loves' her enough that he is protecting her and has not tried to force himself on her physically (much) but he comes out with winning lines like "You can't live without me. I have to teach your body that." A page later he is licking her wounds (all over her body) while she is passed out.

The whole book creates this weird bondage-light vibe where the girl is always getting hurt so the main Demon love interest can lick her better, carry her in his arms, make caveman remarks about how she better hurry up and belong to him, etc.

There is a deeper strain of 'they were childhood friends and he was her first 'love' when she was five or six but it is not enough to redeem the nasty themes in this book.

It is the worst of the grossness in Twilight except this main character has LESS of a spine.

An insult to women and a bad message to young girls, this is one manga series publishers should have left in Japan.

"If a monster drinks my blood, his life will be prolonged. If he eats my flesh he will never grow old, he'll be immortal. If he takes me for his wife, his whole clan will prosper."

Misao has become the Holy Fruit for demons and because of that she's become the target of Demon Clans. I like the premise enough but I just can't stand the perverseness of this manga. Oh sure the smut is hot but I just don't like perverted leading men and guys who use force on women. Shoujo manga is supposed to be read but young girls so basically it's like a Young Adult book but I think the content in this manga is not really appropriate for young girls. I sorta skimmed through some chapters, I'm amazed I've finished the whole 18 volumes, I said to myself I'm just gonna give it up after 10 volumes but the story got interesting for me and the ending satisfied me so I guess it was not so bad after all. I definitely won't recommend this book to young girls because of the smut and I hate it because some of the volume covers shows that the male MC ties the girl or chokes her, that didn't happen in the actual manga, he's just a perverted asshole but has his sweet side too ... I guess this is one of those guilty pleasure manga reads ... LOL^^

I've read more than this one, but the series is just so... smutty. The main character seems to be incredibly dim and refuses to defend herself in any way, while the main male is so blatantly sexualized that everything he does can be seen as kinky. I got tired of this. Just peruse these comments from other reviewers:

"Anime News Network's Casey Brienza commends the English edition of the manga for being "amusing and sexy. Good if you want to put your critical sensibilities into neutral with something trashy" however she criticises the manga with the comment "its creative horizons are that of a bodice ripper. Don't expect the next modern manga masterpiece."
Katherine Dacey, writing for The Manga Critic, criticises Misao for not defending herself even as "demons slash her throat, poison her, push her off rooftops, and slam her against walls." Dacey comments that "younger readers may find [Kyo] sexy, but older readers will see him for what he is: a wolf in knight’s clothing, posing as Misao’s savior while manipulating her for his own selfish interests."

Basically how I feel.

If you go into this one not taking it seriously, then you will really enjoy. Well, I did! It was hilarious and over the top but it was also so entertaining! I already have volume two on hand and I'm glad because I need to know what happens next to Misao!

Not many people know this about me, but I love reading manga. I used to be obsessed with anime and manga when I was younger. As I've gotten older, I don't read manga as much. However, every now and then, I'll get the urge to pick up a series and binge read it. I recently requested the first volume of Black Bird from my local library, and enjoyed it.

There were several things that I enjoyed about Black Bird. I love the author's snarky, sarcastic sense of humor that she wove into the story line, especially when it comes to Kyo. I also loved how loyal Kyo was to Misao. He did have his own reasons, but I thought it was cool that he seemed so protective of Misao, even though he hadn't seen her since childhood.

There was only one thing that I didn't like about this book. It was slightly hard to get into. I was confused on and off throughout the book. I felt like there should have been some sort of greater back story that the reader needed to understand everything, and we never got that. I'm hoping that appears more in the second volume to clear things up a bit.

Other than the one minor issue, I really loved Black Bird. I can't wait to see what happens next in the story line. I plan on getting the other volumes of manga from my local library as soon as I can. I hope to binge read the whole series this spring.

This will definitely be an interesting series. I’m intrigued by the storyline and I do enjoy some aspects of the plot, but there are other parts that annoy me to no end.

I do want to continue to see what happens though, so we’ll see!

3.5 vercem ben buna.

I honestly don't know how to review this manga. I want to say it's the worst I've ever read, but that would be disingenuous - certain elements are the worst I've ever read, but certain elements are quite good. Perhaps I could say that I wanted to like this, but that certain elements prevented me. But that wouldn't be quite right either. Quite frankly, this book looks like it would be a stupid romance - I have no idea why I bought it. Truly, the nature of this book prevents me from introducing it properly.

Here's the thing: there's a lot of abuse here. Misao, throughout the book, is treated like an object by Kyo, the demon that she's getting married to. He forces her to marry him (indirectly threatening her life if she refuese), he touches her breasts and puts his hands up her skirt without consent, he shoves her against walls, he forbids her from seeing other men, and he licks her while she's asleep. It's difficult to tell whether this is supposed to be okay or not. On one hand, Misao is certainly uncomfortable with it at first. She makes her discomfort clear (not that it affects Kyo's decision-making much), and she doesn't want to marry him at first. But she seems to relent, over time. Not like she's giving up, like she's genuinely falling in love with him. There's the subtle implication that because Kyo protecting her from other demons, the shit he does is okay, which is... uncomfortable to say the least. Kyo does claim to love Misao, but it's hard to believe, considering how he treats her, combined with the fact that he has ulterior motives for marrying her. (Basically, his tribe prospers if she's his bride.) All of this makes it incredibly depressing when Misao starts to see merit in him. Don't get be wrong, the unfortunate truth is that a lot of people in abusive relationships have some love for their abusers. But the way it's presented... Misao's love appears to be, by my assessment, not just okay, but Meant To Be.

Perhaps it would be unfair to assess this manga mostly based on the central relationship, if it weren't the only focus of the book. I'm not saying this book is plotless - I'll get to that later - but the manga is quite defined by the romance. Misao has very little character development outside of it - we know virtually nothing about her except that she sees demons, and that she's in an abusive relationship. Kyo is the same, largely. It's Misao's lack of character development that makes me feel like this manga wasn't meant to be some sort of metaphorical exploration of abuse - if it were, I feel like the manga would be very intimate with Misao's personality. Alas, we knew virtually nothing about it.

And the really frustrating thing - the thing that makes this manga so difficult to introduce - is the fact that other than all this, it's actually pretty good.

Sure, it starts off a bit rushed, but once it finds its pacing, it actually ebbs and flows surprisingly well. There's a very fluid nature to how Sakurakouji writes her scenes - we often jump around in time within chapters, and it's often unclear as to whether something really happened, or if it was all Misao's dream. You'd think this would make the book confusing, but it had a more mysterious affect - it kept me on my toes. The plot - mostly revolving around a love triangle between two equally abusive demons - wasn't actually that interesting, but it was written extremely well. The dialogue was quite well-written, in spite of everything, and the flashbacks to Misao's childhood with Kyo were genuinely touching, even though they shouldn't have been. Moreover, the artwork was wonderful (which is the reason I bought the book in the first place). It wasn't exactly subtle, but it was very crisp, and it got its points across alright.

Sakurakouji is clearly a capable writer, and I wish she had a better story to tell here. Alas, it mostly seems to be normalization of horrifying abuse. Much like Twilight, if Stephanie Meyers weren't a terrible writer. I can't recommend this, and I didn't enjoy it enough to be tempted to read anything else by Sakurakouji. But if the premise looks interesting to you, I'd suggest reading another book by the author - she's clearly prolific enough for there to be something else interesting.

Well, that cover was basically warning me to run away. This fragile looking girl with tears on her eyes, blood on her shoulders and an arrogant guy that's grabbing her- NO NO NO.

Amanda, NO.

Amanda, DON'T.

Amanda, RUN AWAY.

Amanda, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.

Amanda, WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO YOURSELF?

First of all, she gets attacked and saved by this piece of shit, Kyo, two times in one chapter. Like damn. Can it get more fast-paced and stupid than that?

YES, unfortunately it can. Because the first thing he tells her upon meeting each other after 10 years is that she's going to be his bride. Who decided? He did, of course. Why should she have a saying in this? It's not like it's her life or anything.

Motherfucker, sit the fuck down.

If you don't think any of this shit is bad enough to make you want to throw the book against the wall or use it to lighten fires and dance around them while shouting that this book is shit to the sky, then please do know that there's more.

Dude's licking her all over... While she's asleep... While she tells him over and over to not fucking touch her and stay the fuck away. What does he do? Touch her and lick her anyway because it's so hot and sexy. Assault asshole, assault. Does the word consent ring a bell?

The lawyer in me is boiling. The lawyer in me wants to send this dumbfuck to court and crush him. But then the lawyer in me remembers that he's fictional and that she is still in the second year of Law School so yeah. Can't be done.

After all the stupid cringeworthy licking- we have this other idiot coming to claim oh-so-special Misao as his bride. Tells her he's going to assault her as much as he can once he gets rid of competition and stupid bullshit like that. Is this seriously supposed to be romantic?

Now I know I am the last person to talk about romance but GOD NO. This is shit. If anyone considers it romantic then please do meditate for a while. It might help. This ain't some kink or anything, it is pure assault. FUCK YOU KYO FUCK YOU NEW GUY FUCK EVERYONE WHO THINK THIS IS OKAY FUCK YOU

My sister warned me. She warned me to stay away, but I said how bad could it be? SUPER BAD OBVIOUSLY. And guess what? I have 15 volumes of this crazy shit and they'll hunt me for not reading them. Someone tell me they get to their senses and it doesn't get worse. Is there light in the end of these 18-volume tunnel?

This book was amazing! It entranced and pulled me in from beginning to end! I couldn't put the book down for a second! I just had to finish it! I am ecstatic and cannot wait to buy the second book and read more!

Black bird is about a demon boy (a Tengu), Kyo, trying to get the main character, Misao Harada, become his bride so his clan may prosper. For she is a special human with special blood, and every demon in all of Japan will do anything to have her.

Kyo and Misao were child hood friends and she knew that he was a demon, but she still loved him despite that. When he moves away and suddenly returns 10 years later, Misao cannot remember all her memories of their childhood and the promise of marriage with him. But now she has doubts and hates (its a love and hate relationship you can say) him for being a demon. She doubts that he actually cared for her the way she cares for him, and all he wants from her is her blood, her energy, and will.

"If a demon drinks her blood, he is granted a long life. If he eats her flesh, he gains eternal youth. And if he makes her his bride, his clan will prosper..."

The plot, the story line, everything about it was great, right down to the drawings! Everything was perfect. It drew me in and refused to relinquish it's hold until I was finished. It was a great read! I highly enjoyed it! I can hardly sit still! I want to run to the nearest bookstore and buy a copy of the next book!

This review was updated on A Weebish Book Blog as part of my TBT Review feature. Review publishes on 01/18/2018.

Fifteen-year-old Misao Harada has been able to see demons since she was a small child. After her sixteenth birthday, the demons who usually weren't anything more than playful poltergeists have turned downright deadly. They want to consume her powers or force her hand in marriage.

Meanwhile, childhood friend and first love Kyo, has returned to town and has promised to save her from the demons. Provided she agrees to sleep with him and become his bride, that is. It doesn’t help that she doesn’t remember much about him from her childhood, such as that he’s a tengu demon and leader of his clan.

There is just something so cute and addictive about the characters of BLACK BIRD. I have an obscene crush on both Kyo and Misao, and Kyo’s six-year-old Tengu servant, Taro, is flat-out adorable. He’s all that is chibi and cuddle worthy. I will cry if he ever grows out of the cuteness.

It was entertaining as hell learning the ins and outs of these characters. Plot wise, BLACK BIRD has the same type of cliche story line of other popular shojo, but as a die-hard fan of all that is cute and shojo, I find I don't mind. It was highly entertaining and I plan to continue reading more from the Black Bird series.

Back in my high school days I was reading Black Bird religiously and lived for every release. I ended up not continuing the series since my local bookstores didn't get the remaining books in the series, which was quite sad at the time. As I'm cleaning my house through the pandemic, I decided to pick up all of my old mangas and give them a re-read.

Black Bird is way more creepy than I remembered. It gives rape-y vibes - with demons seeking our lead to steal her virginity and be married to her, and still propositioning her when she says no. It's quite awkward for the time and doesn't totally hold up. Despite that, I'm super intrigued for how this story goes because I don't totally remember. The tengus and foxes and other demons are very interesting to me and I do want to see how this series finishes.

I think less mature audiences will enjoy this. While it's a YA book, I think pre-teens might like it better. Although, it does bring up sex a fair bit which is why I think more people see it as YA. the controlling nature of our lead gives me Twilight vibes too, which is uber creepy.

But, the illustrations are gorgeous and I love the colour of the cover. The art is what always gets me with this amazing mangas.

It still brings back wonderful nostalgic memories for me though - waiting outside the stores to rush in and grab the newest copy on release day.

Overall, I enjoyed this book for the nostalgia and pictures. It's super creepy but a very interesting read to ump back into a series from my past.

Three out of five stars.

A smuttier version of Twilight, where an abusive relationship is justified under the pretense of one party being supernatural. The heroine is defined by her frail human weaknesses; she's attractive only because of a deus ex machina whereby she's the "Bride of Prosperity" or some nonsense like that, which makes her irresistible to monsters in a raping, flesh eating sort of way. Her love interest constantly forces himself on her, but because he doesn't have sex with her, it's okay. His ability to restrain himself from raping her is a sign of his intense love. Possibly the least enjoyable manga I've ever read.

Thanks to Kat Stark for her review!

For years, I've been looking for this manga ever since an old friend introduced me to the series and it's not because I want to read it again, but because of the soft porn and the silly characters were worth discussing with my sister. She loves reading manga, so I thought she might have read this, but it didn't jog any memories for her.

All in all, Black Bird was definitely one of those guilty-pleasure reads and I only made it up to Vol. 6 before I gave up. I would never recommend this manga to her, not unless she wants to read it so we can both make fun of it together.

That's what sisters are for.

WARNING MINOR SPOILERS! and some opinions on the series on the series before I give a full review of volume 1.

Read originally in:
September 12,2012
Re-read:
June 11-22,2020
Now that I've re-read this volume,I noticed more issues with the story.
The story is filled with errors with the plot and situations I forgot about.
I read this manga when I was still new to shojo and josei manga.
I am mostly a shonen manga reader,so I didn't really know what to expect and was curious after seeing the advertisement of Black Bird in a issue of Naruto.
I think Black Bird is one of those stories people should read for the Japanese mythology, art and occasional fight scenes because the romance is horrible and the leads are annoying and underdeveloped.
I knew the romance was going to be disappointing,so I came in knowing my blood pressure was going to raise reading this and I was right.

My issues and opinions with Black Bird:

1-Misao Harada is a endearing/sweet girl but she has next to no sense.

2-Kuzunoha's other siblings never appears other than that one brother and a few clans members and how the clans work needed to be more fleshed out.

3-The comedy and theme aren't written terribly, it's just not fleshed out in a way that's more likable to some readers.

4. The male lead Kyo Usui is perverted, cruel, manipulative, obsessive,a pedophile and a creep.
He makes jokes about Misao's
(who's 16 years old) naked body and shows nude photos of her that he took while she was in the shower unknowingly and was passing the photos around even after she told him to stop.
He became a teacher at her school (he's 20) to keep her "safe" from demons and other men while in reality he's just doing inappropriate things with her like groping her chest.
The writer writes these scenes to pander to the student x teacher fetish for the otaku community which is disgusting and very disturbing.
Kyo even says he watched a p*rn of a woman who looked like her a 100 times.
Later in the story her father (who's against their relationship because he meant to be the "over protective" dad) mentioned he knew about the p*rn issue and thought Kyo had a Lolita complex.
This scene is meant to be funny for some reason.
I don't understand why being a pedophile is funny or quirky.

5. Nearly every other scene of Misao is her being nearly killed or r*ped and the author writes and draws these situations to be melodramatic or "funny."

6. Misao's own boyfriend pressures her to sleep with him and even tries to r*pe her to teach her a lesson in one of the first five volumes.
He wrapped her bead necklace around her neck to keep her from leaving which made bruises on her neck.
The scene was lengthy and Misao was crying and bruised.
This scene isn't romantic.
The writer wrote these scenes to be quirky and funny but the scenes where gross and misogynistic instead.
They way Kyo treats Misao like some whore throughout the story is annoying.
He a awful person and his only interest traits are his skills with the sword.
Kyo didn't comfort Misao after his brother tried to r*pe,kill and eat her afterwards and he doesn't seem to see the issue with it other than another dude touching "what's his"

7- Child abuse is shown as a joke in this manga which really pissed me off, those poor triplets are constantly bullied and verbally abused by Kyo.

This is definitely a adult manga shouldn't be listed under the "Shojo Beat" imprint but under a different label all together to help readers avoid mature content manga that being said this is a terrible romance manga and children shouldn't this story.
Many readers seemed confused on who this story was for.
Viz Media should stop using the Shojo Beat imprint because that magazine was discontinued in 2007 due to low newsstand sales and most of their stories never serialized in this magazine.
They used to separate their non-Shojo Beat manga from their other "shojo" manga such as Banana Fish and Angel Sanctuary.
This spring (2023)Viz Media has quietly added on their SB page that Shojo Beat stories are for girls and women.
SB has been marketed to 10-16 year olds for years even after the Black Bird controversy/"backlash" in 2012-2015.
Viz has also discontinued their Viz Kids imprint.
I suggest parents to keep up to date with Viz Media.
Viz Media often lumps adult stories with children and teen stories.
Shonen Jump is also following the footsteps of SB magazine.
They are now mixing several magazines together instead of serializing Weekly Shonen Jump manga in the way Shueisha has in Japan.

I really wish there were more supernatural manga that wasn’t flat out shojo because way too much of that genre is far too stupid-romantic for me. I knew that going into this, but like always I held out hope. I have no idea why. This is a cookie cutter shojo paranormal romance with a heroine who spends all her time blushing and being rescued. Sigh. And it doesn’t help I’m reading at least three other manga with this same plot (though mostly sans the romance).

Misao Harada can see spirits. Naturally no one else in her high school can and they just think she’s a weird girl who falls over nothing and talks to herself. Harada had a friend when she was a child and she loved him and still wants to see him again. Sure enough, she gets attacked by spirits and she is saved by Kyo, her childhood friend.

It turns out that he’s a tengu, a spirit, who can heal her wounds with his tongue (okay now we all know why I bought this). Harada is a special girl. If a demon marries her, he’ll become super strong. Just eating her (or draining some of her energy as Kyo is doing when he licks her). Kyo, naturally isn’t just her long lost friend, he is determined to make her his bride.

The rest of the manga is her getting attacked, Kyo having to save her or his competition a Kitsune, does. Harada does a lot of blushing and we get a lot of pseudo-sexual scenes and a few potential rapists. I know there are a lot of readers who like the alpha male riding to the rescue type of stories. I’m not a big fan. Kyo is an interesting character but Harada does nothing for me so I’m probably not going further with this one.

Ah Kyo'm benim. Ben bu çocuğu çok sevdim yav! Simsiyah kanatları bir açılıyor ki.

Ay Kyo'cuğum birde kendini Misao'nun kocası ilan etmesin mi!

Kahramanım <3

Misao is a lucky girl... or at least she's beaten the odds. One human is born every 100 years whose blood will lengthen a demon's life, whose flesh will give a demon eternal life, and if she is taken as a bride, their clan will prosper. Misao's childhood friend Kyo returns after a long absence and--surprise!--is a demon. And there are several other demons out there who want her blood and her body for their own purposes, including a kitsune (fox demon) who is now attending her high school. Oh yeah, and Kyo is an instructor there because I guess he got his teaching certificate during the ten years he was away.

The relationship dynamics in this story aren't great. Kyo's the pushy, half-gaslighting bully who Misao (this is no spoiler) is the obvious destined love for, and Misao is mostly a passive victim, though she also pushes back more than you'd expect. This story is stupid, horny, and not recommended for anyone who's dealt with a real-life abuser. I like stories about yokai (Japanese demons), so this one's appealing on that level, though I do hope that author Sakurakoji introduces more variety than "demon comes after Misao and Kyo saves her" as Black Bird goes along.

Misao is a girl who can see creatures that no one else can, as long as she can remember she has these dreams about a boy and those dreams always seemed so real but she can never remember them wholly.

As she becomes 16, everything seems to be happening all at once, the house in front of her apartment building is occupied by Kyo, who resembles the boy of her dreams and strange things (stranger than usual) are starting to happen to her with Kyo's arrival such as being attached by a boy who wants to drink her blood!

That's when Misao discovers that her reality is crazier than any fantasy, and that she is to be Kyo's bride who is actually a demon!

Don't ask me why I love this manga, I just do. Every time I see that a new volume is out I have to get it and read it soon after! It's perverted- but sweet at the same time that you just have to love it...

Misao Harada is your average teenage girl- only she is the legendary Senka Maiden and demons from all over want 1. her flesh, 2. her blood, or 3. to make her their bride. And to make matters even worse her best friend from her childhood, her first love who moved away 10 years earlier, turns out to be a demon and he's come to fulfill his promise: to make Misao his bride.
