Dr. Grosheide occupied the Chair of New Testament at the Free University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands for over forty years. Dr. Grosheide's commentary on First Corinthians is one of six commentaries in the fourteen-volume Kommentaar op Het Nieuwe Testament. The Introduction to the commentary was brief, perhaps too brief for my liking, but it did provide a succinct outline of Paul's letter to the Church at Corinth. I felt that the most salient section of his commentary was on the section dealing with foods sacrificed to idols (chapter 10). The sections dealing with the charismata (spiritual gifts) were relatively weak compared with Charles Hodge's commentary. Overall, it was an insightful commentary.

I found this volume so worthless that I tossed it in the trash so it would not fall into someone else's hands. Instead of working to find this out-of-print NICNT volume, go buy a copy of Barrett instead.
