The Draak Legacy #3

Pleasing Platinum

You hate Mondays?

Try finding out that the mother you thought was dead is actually alive, being attacked by elves - who are definitely not Santa's friendly little helpers - and discovering that you're not nearly as human as you believed you were.

Yeah.

All before five o'clock.

Oh, and just in case all that wasn't enough to have me reaching for a bottle of wine rather than a glass, it turns out I'm also mated to an ancient dragon.

An ancient dragon who just so happens to be my boss.

Argh.

Any chance this is just one giant cosplay convention I don't remember registering for?

No?

Well, it'd be irresponsible for me to not at least ask if that were a possibility.

What a ride! After reading the previous two books in this series, I wondered what Ptur's book would be like. He had always been such a stick in the mud and so rigid. Ahhhh, this was worth the wait. Without a doubt my favorite in the series. Ptur's minding his business in his conference room, and next thing you know, evil elves from Magitek are trying to murder him, and he's face to face with a female Orc who is coming close to kicking his dragon butt. Luckily he has a method at hand to neutralize his opponent without killing her, only to be walked in on by his head of HR, Camille Pennington. Who looks at the situation and recognizes her mother, who has been missing for twenty-five years. That is just the hilarious beginning of this PNR Romcom that is so much fun to read I can't even begin to tell you. Early on, we get World of Warcraft references (why wouldn't you when you are speaking of Orcs). Ptur has finally met his fated mate, and he begins nesting for her (which is a lot like wooing); this is both hilarious and sweet. Camille is learning to come to grips with the fact that her mother is an Orc, making her half Orc. Then we have the ongoing antics of both AD and Ana and Zilvhern and Dae, who continue to bring the laughs along with the ongoing evil of the peppermint-smelling evil elves of Magitek. This book has it all. I read it in one sitting and then was so sad for it to come to an end. I. MUST. HAVE. MORE. DRAGONS!🐉🐉🐉🐉🐉

So Ive had a few days since finishing this story. The author has mentioned this is not the end of the series, however it is the end for this set of siblings.

I've read each book in the Draak legacy and enjoyed the story arc even more after each one. These are, I believe, interconnected standalones but I wouldn't recommend starting here. Saving Silver then Getting Gold for all the backstory and for full character development.

"P" or Ptur is the main male character in this story. As the oldest of the brothers, we've seen him in the other stories as the leader and the "workaholic". This story gives his character such dimension that I was honestly amazed at how fun he came across at times. He's sweet and his nesting was just as comical as his brothers.

His other half or mate, is absolutely made for him. Shes witty and smart and holds her own, not backing down when the P's alpha tendencies come out.

I loved this couple and want more. I don't want these brothers to be done and I hope they make appearances in the other family books.

An amazing paranormal, shifter series. A definite must read.

In the third installment of Xavier Neal’s The Draak Legacy series, P/Platinum will receive their Fated Mate in an unexpected way. P is trying to juggle pressure from all sides and then he is in the fight of his life. In the next moment Platinum recognizes his mate, the fireball is Cameron Pennington, Head of HR for D.L. & Co. P and Cam are so much alike. I enjoyed the dynamic between them, as well as Cameron learning that she is part of two worlds. While at times, I found Cameron to be a bit frustrating; however, I believed that was in part because she was lied to and things were revealed to her after the fact. Overall, I found this to be a well-developed story with solid characters.

I received an advance reader copy of this book from the author. This review is purely from my perspective, and all opinions are my own. I am under no obligation to review the book.

I loved this so much! I am so in love with these dragons that I just can’t get enough of them. Ptur does not disappoint. The back and forth between Ptur and Cami is perfect. The laughs, snark, intense heat and just overall connection is amazing. I was pulled through the story with those laughs but the bits of nail biting and action kept those pages turning. This is a must read book in a much loved series.

I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

I enjoyed reading Platinum and Cameron's story. Sometimes fated-mates show up unexpectedly, but in a way that was most needed for both mates. They are both head strong and to the point for what they want out of themselves and each other. A match made in fate heaven.

Best so far

This is the best in the series so far. In the first two books P seems stuffy, grumpy, and no fun. In this we get to see that he used to be fun out had to grow up and become the patriarch of his clan. It was nice getting to know P and also so sad seeing how much pressure he put on himself. The brunch thing early in the book made me want to beat his siblings for hurting his feelings.
I loved Cami too, she was a perfect match for P!

We learn more about magitek and get a huge win against them in this book. They’re still out there though and it seems we’re moving onto the cousins now, so I guess the battle continues.

I was so happy to read Ptur's story. As the eldest brother to Zilveran and Auran, Ptur has made countless sacrifices since the death of their parents and he took on the role of caretaker/guardian. Family is everything to Ptur and he focuses on the needs of others more than his own. Always the protector; Ptur never knew what it meant to lean on others until he found his fated mate in a feisty, half Orc who was just as fierce and protective as he was.

Ptur never thought he would be blessed with the possibility of having a mate but his Dragon Platinum had other ideas. The day Cameron walked into his life Ptur's world was turned on its axis. A chance meeting was the catalyst to propel Cameron and Ptur together.

Cameron and Ptur were like oil and vinegar but the more time they sent with each other the more they allowed themselves the opportunity to get to know one another. Cameron learned more about who she really was and Ptur learned that it's ok to let others help and take care of him. Always the protector and provider Ptur was able to accept that his brothers were no longer little dragonlings. They were grown men with mates of their own and they no longer needed Ptur to protect them. They needed him to be their brother.

This story was full of heart and the love of family. Family is everything to Ptur and he always carried the burden that he was failing his brothers and their mates and all it took was for him to meet a feisty, half Orc mate who had no problem going "Hulk Smash" on anything that threatened the ones she loves for Ptur to understand that he didn't have to carry the burden of being the rock of the family alone.

If you're looking for a lighthearted book full of laughs, steam, action and growly, possessive and protective dragons who are ready to nest; look no further.

OH MY DRAGON 🐉!

Pleasing Platinum is Book Three in The Draak Legacy. And I’m here to tell you that Ptur/Platinum were soooo worth the wait.  This dragon is going to melt your heart 🤍!

Ptur has been the one to bind the Draak Family for years.  He’s their protector and provider.  It’s all he does, and has therefore put his life and hopes on the back burner. He held this position with great love.  But there were times that he wanted what his brothers had. But he had no time for the whims of love.  He had an empire and a family to run.  And just when he thinks it’s no longer an option, love comes knocking at his door. But this most certainly wasn’t your usual KNOCK KNOCK!

Cameron (Cami) Pennington was a force to be reckoned with. Fierce, intelligent, beautiful, and in charge of many lives and facets of Ptur Draak’s life.  More importantly, she now belongs to Ptur.

While these two seem to be falling in love, the Draak Family nemesis, Magitek, is trying to upend everything sacred to this family, business and personal. And it seems that Cami’s family has a hand in this hostile attempt. But Ptur, with the help of his Fated Mate, is about to go to war.  Oh, and Cami just discovered that she holds some ancient genes she didn’t realize was a bit warrior like. Talk about the ultimate power couple.

I absolutely fell in love with this couple.  The hardcore, tough skinned dragon only needed to find his Mate.  I adore the way Cami had this dragon purring under her command.  And no harm would be allowed to come to this Mate. Both Ptur/Platinum would ensure this.  Add in the remaining Draak siblings, some cousins, and a house genie, voilà, everyone makes Pleasing Platinum a phenomenal story.

Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Trope: fated mates
Angst: 😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥

Another great story with tons of super fun banter. Someone is trying to undermine the Draak family business and its up to the HR department head to try and smoke out the culprit. But when Ptur finally meets Cam, the last thing he expects to do is to meet his fated mate.

This series has just been so much fun! And while it isn't the last book in the series, it is the last book for our beloved Draak brothers. Boy did Ptur meet his match! Fantastic world building. Tons of laugh out loud moments. Tons of action with a dash on suspense thrown in as well. Can't wait to see who gets a book next!

5 Dragontastic, Kick Ass Stars!!!

I was super excited to dive into the third book of Xavier Neal’s The Draak Legacy Series, and it did not disappoint! I was hooked right from the start, not to mention the sadness I felt when I read the very last page, I could have easily devoured the same number of pages again if not
more. I have loved every moment of this series and the characters, it would make
for a brilliant TV Series too! Even more exciting is that there is still more to come from the
Dragon World in the form of another spin off series and I cannot wait!

Platinum is full of many spectacular surprises; some I saw coming and others I didn’t. Xavier Neal writes in a way that keeps you on your toes, with this story. And did I mention how much I love the Draak brothers? Well, I absolutely do! They are strong, loyal and fiercely protective. You can’t not love them, trust me!

Having recently been struggling to enjoy my passion for reading, Pleasing Platinum by Xavier Neal certainly helped with getting me out of that funk!

If you love Shifter Romances with action, and a storyline that keeps on delivering, you will
Without a doubt, enjoy The Draak Legacy Series by Xavier Neal.

So, I reviewed the 2nd book in this series last week and I think I enjoyed this one equally if not more! Ptur and Cameron had this totally different dynamic that I really liked. And, I especially like watching them get to know each other and how they navigate their new bond.
Cameron Pennington thinks she is embarking on a typical work project but, she has no idea she is about to walk into a clusterf$@k involving her long lost mother and a dragon shifter who just so happens to be her Fated Mate. Which, she didn’t even know was a thing until she meets said dragon, Ptur Draak, aka her very attractive boss. While working through their new bond, they are also working on the mystery that is her newly re-appeared mother which, turns out to be a much larger problem.
Ptur is very much the serious type and this totally unplanned Fated Mate situation sort of throws him for a loop at first!!! Cameron loves her job, she’s confident and a little sassy when it comes to Ptur. As usual, Xavier Neal provides some amazing banter between these two that will have you giggling, smirking, and laughing out loud throughout this book.

🔥Quick Notes🔥
⭐Paranormal Romance
⭐Fated Mates
⭐Part of a series, but could be read as a standalone
⭐A bit of workplace romance
⭐Lots of action right out of gate!
⭐Definitely some steamy action here
⭐Also, romcom vibes

🔥Some of my favorite things🔥
⭐The Draak brothers and their snarky but loveable bond with each other
⭐Nesting, its adorable… I’m just going to leave it at that.
⭐Some of the side characters provide so much entertainment in this book.

Oh my Platinum!! I just adored this book. This is book 3 and while you can read them as stand-alones, you should totally jump into the whole series. The series is filled with laughter and love, excitement, steaminess, drama and action, all the things you could want. Book 3 gives you all the same plus so much more. In this one not only do we find a fated mate, we learn about other creatures, complex heritages, secrets, weaknesses and strengths. Cami is a perfect female lead for the story, full of piss and vinegar as my grammy used to say. She's sassy but smart, self-assured and brave and just a total badass. She's also exactly what Ptur might need to help him remember how to live life and not just a role he thinks he fits into. There's an epic adventure, romance and hilarity that comes with family dynamics and relationship dynamics at the forefront. While this is the last in the brethren’s books, it won't be the end of the series and it certainly sets us up with questions and a desire to know more. I can't wait to see where the next journey takes us and so glad I've been along for the ride so far.

This book had me in stitches. I laughed so much watching the romance unfold between Ptur and Cameron aka Cami. Fate decided to put these two together and she was smiling maniacally as she did so.

Ptur is the head of a dragon shifter family and the family’s company. He has no time for a mate but finds her when his life is threatened. Turns out her mother, an Orc, the culprit. Pretty intense introduction not to mention Cami has no clue her mother is an Orc. What results is some very funny and steamy moments between these two pig-headed people. But they are perfect together and I wish I could read more with them as the main couple.

Love these two as individuals and as a couple. He is so adorable as he figures out this mate mess and has internal monologues with Platinum his dragon. She is super smart and feisty. Love her boldness. Great cameos by his bothers and their mates as well as a host of secondary characters who you just have to read to see why I love them.

* I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.

When it comes to his family Ptur has been the one who does the rescuing however now the tables are turned when he is rescued by Camille, one of his employees. It was surprising enough to find out that his attacker shares a past with Camille but even more surprising to find out that she is his mate.

Camille doesn’t know what to expect when she tries to stop an altercation, but she certainly never expected to see the two culprits were her boss and her estranged mother. Still reeling from that news she finds out that there is so much she doesn’t know about herself including her mate.

Humor, heat and heart as Ptur and Camille find themselves adjusting to their situation and each other as well as fighting those who are against them. I really enjoyed Ptur and Camille’s story and it was great catching up with all the other characters we know and love.

Pleasing Platinum is a fantastic read. I loved this one so much. You feel the connection and the awakening between Ptur and Cameron from the very beginning. Cameron is stronger than she looks and takes things in stride as she learns she is half Orc. Ptur will put a smile on your face when it comes to his courting ways once he figures out Cameron is his fated mate. I love the banter and chemistry between Cameron and Ptur so much. As Platinum plays a part giggling will occur when it comes to how this dragon's mind works. I loved this one so much as the Draak brothers take on who is behind everything that is going on with the mystical world. If you haven't read this series yet you need to. I loved this so series so much. I could not get enough of this book and series. Go one click this now.

I honestly have no patience for this book at the moment, this couple seems so juvenile with their constant need to be annoying and talking back to each other, I'm about at 25% and I don't think I have read a single dialogue where they just could agree with each other without any "banter".

Out of the three stories in the series this is the one where I feel like if they weren't fated mates and just casually met they wouldn't end up together. That's just my opinion, I might give it another try later on but as of right now I would prefer to look for something else to read.

Also, the chapters are unnecessarily long, there was one with about 40 pages and for what?

Decent series so far. I started reading this series excited to see what each book would entail for the Draak’s. However, P’s book was interesting don’t get me wrong but after reading them all back to back I ended up in a book slump. There are repeated phrases and explanations which started off my skimming, because after a while I just wanted to finish the book. The action was described well but there was too much explanation at certain times - I was just like yeah get on with it. I’ve liked the series but won’t be reading anymore of the series with the cousins.

lots of potential

TW: very graphic violence

Having finished this series, I have a lot of questions about this universe. I really think more books can be written about this universe (no pressure to Neal).

My pet peeve about this series, however, is the villains are rather dumb. A lot of their plans worked because the villains were comically incompetent. To me, that made the stakes feel less real.

Just Okay

This was my lease favorite books out of the series so far. I really enjoyed the first two books and could not wait to read this one, however for me it fell short. I truly wasn’t invested in the story until Cami chomped down on the elf. I will continue to support Ms. Neal, she is a great author just this book was not interesting at all and barely kept my attention.

Ptur and Cameron is the 3rd book in the Draak Legacy series and let me tell you ...this is a freaky sexy rom-com my gawd!

Ptur is the head of the family and CEO of D.L. Company while protecting the family from crazy peppermint smelling dwarfs and an evil company trying to rid the world of those beyond the fog basically everything magical. This alone is causing a lot of chaos within the corporation especially the head office where Ptur is in charge of and because of this the board sends in the head of HR to clean house Cameron. Unfortunately Cameron walks in on the chaos that is in Ptur's office and her long lost mother in a compromising position. Ptur in shock realizes that Cameron is his mate.....

Cam & P's relationship was funny as well as enlightening to the both of them. P helps Cam find her true self in the magical world while she helps humble P while they both try to find happiness in all the chaos. P's brothers AD & Z were so flipping funny and constantly tested his gangster every minute of the day. Their mates Ana and Dae were so cute ad funny as well. I swear he wanted to murder them because they wouldn't let him live...the sex bruh...I can't even tell you the many ways he took this woman to pound town and cloud 9 in this book. Plus may I add the very fact in the beginning of reading this book that I stared at the damn cover for a good 5 mins and when the author described Ptur in the book I went back to the said cover....Like wow!

This was a great read and I just know this has to continue with the cousins because this series is tooooo good!

Pint-Size and the Beanstalk.

They say third is the "Charm", and in this book, was the third installment to an awesome Series.

I have loved the other two, but always wanted Ptur's. He always made fun of the fated mate. I wanted him to have his time to shine.

And Boy did he ever. The relationship between him and Cameron was truly heartwarming and poignant.

Ptur's has a big responsibility to his Brothers and family to protect them. But at the end of the day, who's there for him.

In step my girl Cameron. Smart, take charge, and gives my "Beanstalk" a run for his money with her bossy ways and how she tells him how things will go.

Ptur needed someone like and I love the HELL out too this book.

Xavier, the chemistry and the love that you feel between the two of them. It felt like I was there witnessing there love take flight. That's is why, when you read a Xavier Neal book, you are guaranteed to grab a box of tissues and get ready to bawl your eyes out after reading one of her spectacular stories. The books are so scrumptious, that you can't just stop reading them. I can continue to peach her works with, Speculator, awesome( I can go on and on). Just buy her books and see for yourself why people are in awe of her talent as a writer. Love ya Mrs. Neal.

This is book 3 of the "Draak Legacy." Books should be read in order as to not miss vital information.

Wow! Wow! Wow! I was anxiously awaiting Ptur's book and Neal did not disappoint. This was an amazing ending to the brother's books. Fear not, we are definitely getting more stories from this world! From that first opening scene, you realized that this book was going to be action heavy. That's not to say that the usual ingredients of Neal's writing was not sprinkled throughout. The power flirting between P and Cami was definitely on point. The chemistry these two shared was rather intense. The little quirks each character had made the story feel relatable even for a PNR book. The witty banter, not only between P and Cami, but the other brother's and their fated mates was often laugh-out-loud funny. This story was really a full-circle experience. At times, this book pulled on your heart-strings; other times you wanted to pull your hair out from frustration. It was, by far, the best book in this series thus far!

Neal expanded on this universe so beautifully and without being gimmicky or an information dump. The introduction of various species and new characters truly felt like this PNR world was just starting to open up. I'm very excited to see what else she has in store for us.

In love with this family!!! I’m so obsessed and sad! I hope it continues with others or even more from these brothers!! This author is amazingly talented!

I had the biggest feeling at the beginning of the book that his fated mate would be the epic of the brothers! I loved the meeting! It was PERFECT!! I could tell their was more about P than we knew and each chapter I felt like I got the whole story. It was everything I wanted and more from the oldest brother!!

Cami is such a great character and I think I felt bad for her the most! Her story was crazy intense too!! So many obstacles she has faced and it seemed like it was for nothing. Her mom really upset me but in the end I understood too.

What a crazy story!! So many things happening and the last several chapters are the most intense!! I couldn’t wait to continue reading but I was also growing sad because it was ending! I think the oldest Draak brother is my all time favorite and I can’t wait to see if we get more!! Congrats on this best seller!!!

So good! I need more!! I mean talk about whirlwind, crazy train from start to finish. Just wow. Super funny, which I didn’t expect from Ptur’s demeanor in his brothers books. Super sexy, which I always expect when absorbing an Xavier Neal book. The storyline kept me on my toes till the end. I loved all the interactions between the other character and Cami, and vice versa. She fits in with everyone so well, especially being the first different kind of Draak mate. I also loved her bestie, Kyla! She totally needs her own Draak. Just sayin’. And, of course the continuous brotherly banter made me smile or laugh, constantly. Anyway, this book quickly became my favorite in the Draak Series. You’ll have to read it yourself to understand why. So, so good. Don’t think I’m satisfied, though. I’m begging for more. We’ve at least got a cousin with a damaged mate I’m gonna need a story for, we’ve got 2 flamingo’s that need happy endings, and as stated before, Kala needs a Draak of her own. That’s at least 4 more Draak shifter books possible. So, PLEASE GIVE US MORE DRAAK BOOKS, XAVIER!!!!

This is the third book in The Draak Legacy series and it is one laugh riot with a dragon shifter that you will want to call your own. I would recommend reading this series in order to understand the family dynamics at play here. Ms. Neal definitely saved the best for last with Ptur Draak; a fearless leader with more gumption and strength to handle any situation that comes his way…until he meets the sassy, spunky woman from HR, Cami. These two are a breath of fresh air and their sparring is next level. Their nicknames are even on point. He is beanstalk and she is pint size but don’t let her fool you because she packs a wallop. Their meeting will remind you of the classic line from the introduction to the tv sitcom Hart to Hart because “when they met, was murder.” Overall, this is one special storyline that needs to be read to get the nuances and so you can see for yourself the love of what family and a fated mate can do. I recommend this book and prepare to have a smile on your face when finished.

It was fun

I like this series, the action, humor & romance makes for a fun read. Sexual tension only works when there's a reason they can't act on it. Here we have two single & consenting adults who know & accept they are fated mates, living together, calling each other pet names...there was literally no reason they couldn't other than the author writing style demands this be dragged out. I can't tell if it's respectability politics as in its "too soon" even though both leads mentioned having casual hookups in the past or just a rigid writing style that won't adjust even when the story calls for it. Either way it renders these books too predictable. Also I'm begging black women authors to release themselves from the shackles of making every black woman lead unattractive. It's been OVERDONE. Whether that's what these authors genuine believe about black women or if it's projection, it's a tired refrain. Oddly this is way more prevalent in IR romances books than black love ones. Take from that what you will...
