A little fir tree stands alone in the forest, sad because it is almost Christmas and the tree has no one to celebrate with. When some chipmunks discover the tree, they come up with a plan and recruit the other animals in the forest to help.

All the animals bring berries, nuts, winter blossoms, pine cones, and holly to decorate the little fir tree. Their decorations create the magnificent first Christmas tree; all of the animals and the tree have the best Christmas ever.

Young readers are sure to enjoy this touching tale of the animals decorating the little tree.
