My new billionaire boss is hot as sin. He also happens to be the devil himself.
And there’s only one thing he wants…
Me.
I never meant to get caught stealing a priceless artifact from Lucas Hale, Los Angeles’s most notorious playboy billionaire. And I definitely never expected him to offer me a job as a way to pay off my debt.
But if it keeps me out of jail, I can play the role of assistant to this cocky, gorgeous man. It can’t be that hard, right?
Even if the chemistry between us is so intense that just being in the same room with him makes my blood heat.
Even if I accidentally walk in on him “taking care of himself” during my first week in the office… and I swear I hear him groan my name.
Even if I don’t quite understand how he moves so fast when he saves me from a psycho who tries to attack me on the street.
On second thought, maybe I’m in over my head with this new job. Because I’m starting to get the feeling there’s a lot more to Lucas Hale than meets the eye. A darker, more dangerous side of him than anyone knows.
And the most terrifying part?
That’s the side of him that tempts me.
Dark Prince is a steamy paranormal romance where the villain gets the girl. It's the first book in the Chosen by Lucifer trilogy.
Callie Rose is a bestselling author who loves to write books that will grab you by the feels and not let go till the very last page. She loves twisty plots, tortured bad boys, strong FMCs, and redemption stories where that shit is *earned*.
Lucifer as an alpha male billionaire boss with BDE!
The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: ❤️💙💜💚 Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙 World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌎 Character development: 😠☺️😋🥰 Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙 Narration Type: Dual Narration
The heroine:Sophia - she works at an upscale restaurant in Los Angeles and is used to entitled customers. Like actors who complain that the soup is cold when they order Gazpacho. While leaving work one night, she is nearly hit by a car when someone hits her from behind, pushing her out of the path of the car.
The Hero:Lucas (a.k.a. Lucifer) - he is tall, dark and handsome, the most beautiful man Sophie has ever seen. He also happens to be a billionaire and a high-profile ladies' man. He has a lot of power in Los Angeles and is known for his investments, philanthropy and business acumen.
The Story: After saving Sophia from near death by car, Lucas can’t seem to get her off his mind. It has been a very long time since a human has been able to surprise him, but Sophia did. He even surprised himself when he used supernatural speed to save her from harm. When Sophia’s younger sister comes to her beaten and bruised, claiming that some guys say she owes them money or drugs, Sophia agrees to help her, especially since she figures it is her ex-boyfriend Jason that is the cause of the problem.
The bad guys tell Sophia that they will forgive the debt if she gets him something he needs. It is an extremely valuable artifact that is missing from his collection. The object is in Lucas Hale’s office in his private lounge and she has to get it for him within 24 hours. However, when Sophia goes to get the object, she is caught. Though Lucas offers to pay the debt for her if she works it off in his office.
I have always liked stories about Lucifer on Earth and falling in love. I loved the Lucifer TV show as well. Though I must say that even though Lucifer was a total alpha male billionaire boss in this one, he also was facing some opposition and had some enemies after him. He didn’t seem to know what was going on and who had it out for him, so that seemed a bit weird. I mean who would think they could best the Devil?
Though Lucifer’s background story was an odd one and not the one we all know about being banished from Heaven. He said his father was named Cephalus (not God), and there was a war that lasted hundreds of thousands of years and Lucifer and Uriel were princes of Hell and they along with their father were at war with Heaven trying to overtake Heaven or something like that. Lucifer decided that he could no longer fight with his father, which is why he isn’t in Hell anymore. Very odd story, I am not quite sure why a writer would change the story we all know.
This was told in multiple points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Lia Holland and C.J. Grey. Lia Holland has a clear, feminine voice which is pleasant and sounds age appropriate for Sophia. C.J. Grey does a lot of romance narration, so I am familiar with his work, and he always does a great job.
After nearly being hit by a car Sophia’s life does a complete 360. She’s first rescued by the infamous billionaire Lucas Hale and within days she’s visiting his office as a thief to save her sisters life. Little does she know she’s working not for Lucas Hale but the only and only Lucifer. Doesn’t take long for the chemistry to overwhelm them both but also doesn’t take long for his enemies to show up for a fight. This was a good start to the trilogy and def hangs on a cliffy. For whatever reason I thought this was a RH and I was a little bummed since I’ve been on that train lately. Lucifer does seem more than enough to handle and I have a feeling Sophia is more than she seems as well.
Callie has once again provided us with a fresh take on a classic genre and I really enjoyed her version of Lucifer or Lucas Hale as he is known in this book.
The story follows the main character Sophia as she falls into Lucas’ world of demons and crime. Callie has done a wonderful job with the side characters.
Without giving away any spoilers, she has woven a love story amongst an action packed storyline, and you can bet there is an epic twist I can honestly say I never saw coming, and in true Callie style a cliff hanger.
Highly recommend this book to anyone who loves paranormal romance.
I have struggled with books this year, with over 150 read so far and only a handful have risen above “good” — Dark Prince has the rare honor of being GREAT. A fast paced story that manages to naturally weave themes ranging from saved by a stranger, hot billionaire boss, caught red-handed, to an H that is more than he seems and dark threats around every corner.
Lucas is the charming, possessive, and protective H that we all wish for, who is captivated by Sophia. She has an inner strength and keen intelligence making her uniquely suited for the challenges of his world.
My new Callie Rose favorite, one I’ll be telling all my friends about and that left me eager for the next book.
- POV Sofia and Lucifer - hot 🔥 smut - FMC mid-20s, MMC mid universe created..guess it is an age gap tinge - demons, but no angels or God's - mentions of sex trafficking, drug dependency, drug dealing, and a super dickward of an ex
Demons, bodies, arshole ex, dark prince, Waitress turns theft to save little sister, spicy, smutty, betrayal and signs of a world changing events coming!!! Deep breath, yup all that and throw more hot spicy smut, and it's still a good book and plot.
I love how the smut bends to events that won't wait for them to finish or let them get started. Made me realise you don't read that in spicy books very often, it's rare to be deep (pun intended) in the foreplay of words leading to either the start or during the spice only to be ripped away by events in their world. Made it frustrating, but oh, so much better for some reason.
The world build is interesting, not uncommon in the Devil comes to earth plot, but more the changes in the normal back story, mythology behind it Lucifer. And Sofia, well, she's a battle those who hurt who she loves, smart, loving, and hard-working woman. But something is not right. Her back story makes me think she may not be all human herself....she doesn't know her father. Oh lordy, please don't let her father be Lucifer or his father or something book burning like that 😳....ignoring that scary line of thought!
And the ending is a cliffhanger hanger. Good book 4.1 stars
I thoroughly enjoyed this. Billionaire alpha male with a dark secret saves girl and they fall for each other.
This one is for those who like a good plot with spice.
Great world building, the plot keeps you guessing, the spice is perfect.
Cliffhanger at the end, personally I hate cliffhangers but I listened to this book on audible and it is in a book 1-3 set so I wasn’t bothered about the cliffhanger as I went straight into book 2. The narrators are perfect for the characters.
As soon dark price hit kindle I jump right in and keep you captivated . This whole book kept me on the edge of my seat. i was completely eating this story up . All I can say is that if you're into supernatural then you will certainly love this book! I can’t wait till next book comes out after that cliffhanger !!! I highly recommend you read this book you will not be disappointed!!!!
This is definitely my least favorite series by Callie Rose so far. It just lacked the typical action and suspense. I loved that Lucifer saved Sophie from death several times but his reasoning was just not there. I hate how her friend betrayed them in the end and she deserved what she got. I hated her ex and how he got her sister into trouble. Overall it wasn’t a terrible book and I hope book 2 gets a little better.
This book kept me on my toes! The spice was sizzling, the characters were enthralling, and I never knew what was going to happen next! This is a fast burn romance between two people unlikely to cross paths! I can’t wait to see what happens in book 2.
So this gave off vibes from the tv show but honestly this was wayyyy better. The spice and the plot love this. Just got book 2, Callie Rose is now definitely an author I'm putting all her books on my tbr to devour.
Book: Dark Prince Read By: Ebook and Audio Author: Callie Rose Genre:Paranormal Romance, Fantasy, Smut Main Characters: Lucifer and Sophia Recommend: Yes Spice: 🌶️️ 🌶️️ 🌶️️ Age recommendation: 18-30+ Years My feelings:
Oh so I have mixed feelings and they are all good ones.
“I’ll fuck you until you can’t walk,” he growls, flexing his hips to drive deeper inside me. “And while you recover, I’ll fuck you with my tongue. Forever.”
So I loved the MCs, Sophia is of course a damsel in distress, but I don’t feel like she is as soft as she is made out to be. Lucifer is a typical monster demon, with anger and possessive issues. My fav kind.
“Make no mistake, little bird. You’re going to beg,” I murmur huskily. “You’re going to beg for me to use you. To fuck you raw and hard. And you’re going to take me so well. Like your pussy was made for me. Tailored for my cock, and mine alone.”
Dark Prince follows Sophia as she is nearly hit by a car on her way home from work, Lucifer saves her, going by the name Lucas Hale. Later on her sister is attacked by some thugs who thinks she owes them moment. Turns out her Sophia Ex was the one who did it, She then goes to Lucas hale office to steal an item for this thugs in order to save her sister. Lucas catches her and gives Hera job as his Pa, and gives her 10,000 cash to pay the thugs. Sophia doesn’t understand why but goes long with it blindly.
“But I’m not that strong. I’m selfish. I want what I want, and I’m not satisfied until it’s mine. And all I want is Sophia.”
She then spends some time pussy footing around the pull they clearly have for each other. When the plane they are on is attacked Lucas shows his demon form, and tells her who he really is. They end up hooking up. Now im not sure if demons have mates or anything like that in this series but they seem to have a bond that suggest they are mates.
“You’re all a man could want,” Lucas murmurs in a rough voice. “And you’re more than a devil deserves.”
The book ends with he right hand women, trying to kill Sophia out of jealously and his father taking Sophia back to hell to get Lucifer to rejoin the army.
“Fuck me,” I hear my own needy voice pant out. “Oh my God.” “Not even close,” he rasps, pinching my nipple hard enough to make me scream. “But I’ll be the one you worship from now on. I’ll show you a kind of ecstasy that Heaven could never hope to match. The kind that comes only from sin. Come for me, little bird. Let go.”
So my neg things are…. Sophia just goes along with it all from the start and doesn’t push back? For such a man whore, he has fallen in love really quickly and will risk it all for her? What’s it been like a week? I feel like there wasn’t enough push and pull. I do hope ever predict that she might be part demon, as she doesn’t know her dad? And maybe they are mates?
“The key? To what, the war? My confusion shows on my face, and he gives me a look of sadistic sympathy. “It’s nothing personal, you know,” he says. “The blame lies with Lucifer. This is what he gets for falling in love with someone so fragile.”
Well see. Im very keen to start book 2 and see what happens.
“Because fragile things? They can be broken.”

POV- Dual, First Person - Sophie & Lucas Ending - Cliffhanger
Dark Prince by Callie Rose is an entertaining paranormal romance that made me want to make sure I end up in hell when I die because...well... Lucifer.
Pace I picked up Dark Prince off the back of a really successful but intense high fantasy romance streak and I just needed an easy read with simple world building and a fast plot. Dark Prince 100% fit the bill. It hooked me from the beginning, dropped enough high stakes conflicts to keep up my interest, and built up to an epic cliffhanger that left me wanting more.
Characters Although Sophie (FMC) and Lucas (MMC) were a touch predictable and fairly stereotypical paranormal romance characters (not that there's anything wrong with that), they were still solid characters with well crafted chemistry on the page. Sophie was totally relatable (I mean the customer service/hospo stuff - so true!) and I enjoyed her voice throughout the story. There are also hints throughout indicating that there may be something more to Sophie and/or her connection to Lucas which adds a nice touch of mystery to the plot.
Lucas... well he is just a classic broody billionaire/Prince of Hell. There's not much else to say besides yum.
Tropes - Alpha Male - Billionaire - Boss/Employee - Hidden/Secret Identity - Opposites Attract - Deception/Betrayal - One Bed
Is Dark Prince spicy? Yes, Dark Prince ticks the spicy box. There is a healthy amount of spicy spice throughout the story which starts within the first quarter-ish of the story (helloooooo office scene). The explicit scenes are well balanced within the plot which is nicely layered with concurrent conflicts. The intense spicy scenes really adds to the drama. Lots of well written tension and spice! *two thumbs up*.
My Thoughts Dark Prince by Callie Rose was the perfect easy read for my poor fried mom brain. Enough twists and turns to keep the plot flowing nicely without having to bend over backwards trying to understand a new magic system or world. Callie created relatable characters with undeniable chemistry that were a delight to read. Dark Prince is a solid paranormal romance with plenty of action, a heavy dose of spice, and a sprinkle of mystery. If you like paranormal romance, you will like Dark Prince by Callie Rose.
tl;dr summary 1. easy, fast-paced paranormal romance read 2. spicy spice! 3. boss/employee 4. touch of mystery (all is not as it seems) 5. completed series
When I saw that this was book 1 in a trilogy I read some of the reviews to see if this would end in a cliffhanger and some reviews said that it did, so I knew that going in and still decided to read it. The premise was just too much fun not to give it a try.
Sophia has to get her sister out of a jam that her jerk of an ex put her in. Her sister is innocent of the crime the gang thinks she is responsible for so Sophia goes to the leader gang member to see what she can do to get her sister out of this jam. All she has to do she's told is steal an artifact from a very wealthy man, a man that Sophia met recently when he saved her life. Should be easy to get in to see him then, right? Stealing the artifact, not so much.
Lucas/Lucifer is a billionaire businessman, he's also a demon, the prince of hell. After he goes against his better judgment and saves Sophia from getting hurt or killed in an accident, he's a little surprised that she comes to see him at work. She thinks she can get away with something that belongs to him but he catches her because she has no idea who he really is. He's so mad that someone tried to steal from him that he almost kills her on the spot but when she tells him she only did it to get her sister out of trouble with some gang members, he tells her he will pay off the gang leader but Sophia has to come work for him as his personal assistant to pay off the debt. It's not like she has a choice.
Lucas is obsessed with her and doesn't know why and he knows she feels kinda the same way about him. So them working closely together is all it takes before they are acting on their feelings. But when someone close to him betrays him in ways he can hardly believe and puts Sophia in danger, she gets more than an eye full of supernaturals. Good grief, this was so good. The twist this took, the different demons and supernaturals that come out of the woodwork was great. The action, danger, romance and steamy, naughty scenes between these two were great. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this trilogy now. I can't wait to see what happens next.
Callie Rose dives into the world of angels and demons in her latest series Chosen by Lucifer. The series kicks off with Dark Prince, this book was hot that it set the pages on fire. I had to fan myself.
I love the leading characters. Sophia is a waitress I'm L.A. just living her life while watching out for her sister. Sophia has an upbeat personality, not too perky but lives on the positive side. She's a people person and has the remarkable talent for reading people and being dead on. What I like best about Sophia is that in certain situations she would freak out then get over it and charge ahead. Some things she took surprisingly well and Sophia is most definitely all in by the end.
Lucifer is an interesting character for me, he's very popular and portrayed in so many different ways. From cold and calculating to playful and eccentric, a king in Hell to a businessman on Earth. He's so versatile ranging from evil to not-so-bad, I've read it all but I gotta say I like Callie's latest version in Lucas Hale. Lucas aka Lucifer is smooth and calculating but he cares for those around him and has a deep appreciation for humans. He's passionate and ruthless as well and had magnetism. Sophia didn't stand a chance. Best of all he genuinely cares about Sophia, they fit perfectly together.
The romance between Sophia and Lucas was fast and hot but there was also a plot. The war between Heaven and Hell is low-key a major aspect of the story. A story that includes family drama, nasty politics, demon gangs, pitiful exes, and luxury. So much luxury. From private planes, exclusive shops, and gorgeous homes. Lucas is apparently boss man on Earth and Hell. We get a fair amount of the human business side, I have a feeling readers gonna get a little more demonic from here on out.
Dark Prince was phenomenal. I loved getting to know Sophia and Lucas. Things ended with a big fight and a dramatic cliffhanger. This story was full of surprises, I can't wait to which way the story goes next.
Sophia is working as a waitress at a local diner in LA but one night she is almost run over by a car. A man rescues her, and he turns out to be Lucas Hale, the unofficial King of LA.
When Sophia’s sister gets into trouble, though not of her own volition, Sophia makes a deal with a low-life to steal an artifact from same Lucas Hale. She fails that, getting caught by Lucas but instead of throwing her in jail, he offers her a job as his personal assistant. Accepting, Sophia is whisked into something she didn’t think was possible because Lucas… is Lucifer?
This is a very action-packed story full of twists and turns. I found it enjoyable I had some issues with Sophia and how at times she felt a little too helpless for her own good. It was the same feeling with Lucas, he’s very dominant and there are moments where he seemed to brush her to the side. There definitely was chemistry between them but some of these moments dimmed down their relationship to me.
The action was good and I didn’t see the twist coming. The same goes for the cliffhanger and the ominous ending.
I don’t know if I’ll continue even if the story remains unsolved for me, since I struggled with connecting to the main characters.
Tropes: Demon romance Violence and blood Mystery Insta-love
4-4.5* This book was SO MUCH BETTER than I expected! Honestly, I love fantasy and I read a lot of it. This is one of the best I’ve read with this trope. It is really, really good. I have read Callie Rose before, her “Claimed by Wolves” series is amazing. So, I knew I was in for a good time, since her writing is easy to read and flows seamlessly. However, I didn’t know I was gonna love this one so much. Quite frankly I was not expecting the plot twist in the end and I love being surprised like that. There was a lot of action in this story and the romance was also so cute. I don’t think there is anything I didn’t like in this book. The main characters were very entrancing and real. I loved the heroine being strong and smart, despite her being “only human” as opposed to the demons. The hero was amazing and powerful and the best type of “bad guy”. I don’t think he qualifies as a villain in any way, because even if his methods are not that “morally correct”, he is still in the “right side” of the big fight. I can’t wait to see how the rest of their story will develop. Really looking forward to read the next book, because the cliffhanger in the end is to die for. I will be starting book 2 as soon as possible, aka right now.
Previous series I've read by this author have been Reverse Harem, this is the first MF of hers I've tried - and it was well worth the wait!
Sophia is just getting by in life, when she has a couple of unexpected meetings which change everything. Her new boss, Lucas, seems too good to be true, and she soon finds out the truth about him.
Sophia is a strong character, who's been through a lot and keeps fighting. Some of her past is still a mystery, and I'm pretty certain that's going to be significant in the future. Lucas initially comes across as a typical spoiled Billionaire hero, but we quickly learn there's a lot more to him. Together they make a great couple and the surrounding players help develop this, while being well developed characters in their own right.
Ugh. Cliffhanger. One of those one-long-story trilogies.
Lucifer left Hell to play a billionaire businessman by day, leader of all the demons on Earth by night, in a closed world series. He came to Earth because Daddy Dearest sacrificed his brother in a battle between Heaven & Hell which has gone on so long that no one remembers what is being fought for or why.
Waitress Sophia Gallo is saved from being hit by a car by the timely actions of billionaire Lucas Hale. A mess with an ex boyfriend and a drug dealer has her paying back Lucas’ kindness by attempting to steal an artifact from him. Lucas catches her, and intrigue and attraction has him offering her a job as his personal assistant, including a sign on bonus high enough to get her out of the drug dealer mess.
Sophia has no suspicions Lucas is anything but a rich and powerful man until something monstrous brings down the private plane they are flying in. Sophia assumes Lucas strapped on a parachute before bailing out of the plane with her, until she turns upon landing to see Lucas in his unglamoured glory: grey skin, red eyes, horns, a tail, and wings.

This has to be one of the best Lucifer books I have ever read! What a rollercoaster, I have not been able to put this book down. It's addictive reading, laced with sin!
Sophia is a heroine you can't help but love, and I found myself routing for her from the start - she's sassy and smart. Lucifer, well he's a hot, billionaire (what is not to love!) This story is fast-paced and smoking hot. The sex scenes set my kindle alight. Filled with Demons on Earth, there are so many twists and turns that I couldn't stop once I started.
Dark Prince is book one and I can't wait for more. Don't be afraid to start this series. Yes, there is a cliffhanger but this story wraps up. I will be counting down until Book 2
2.75 stars Overall, meh. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good. So... mediocre. I'm going to keep reading to see what's going to happen and because I have the omnibus audiobook edition.
As for the characters, the MMC was simply not a believable Lucifer. He was bland. There wasn't anything really supernatural about him other than his shapeshifting. And Sophia was merely okay.
The spicy scenes were more cringey than spicy.
Unfortunately, the writing wasn't that great either. It reminded me of the writing style in Fifty Shades of Gray.
Again, because I'm curious about where the story's going, I'll keep reading, for now.
This Lucifer story is set in current times; living in L.A. Lucus, as he is called, is a billionaire business man that falls for a fascinating human beauty full of sass and attitude. She has a demon kink, yeah?!! Human frailties aside, there's plenty of steam, like really hot, and a redefines "personal assistant." Lucas has lots of unhappy minions and sabotage from within the ranks. "Go to hell!" isn't just a metaphor. The Dark Prince has daddy issues. Guess we're going finding out who's biggest, badest demon of all. Looking forward to the next book.
Beyond belief. Not my typical genre but the author has kept me enthralled many times before and I wasn't let down here either. Right from the start I was sinfully hooked, my own tallons clinging to each chapter. I'm not found to give any spoilers, I do not appreciate it when others do it but if you're a little supernatural yourself, you'll enjoy this. I couldn't put it down from start to finish and read this one in a matter of hours. I'm on to the next book now. I'll let you know soon
If your sister is jumped and has the shit kicked out of her by a group of guys who say she better pay them for the drugs or they'll kill her, do you: A) call the police B) take her to the hospital C) escort her home so you can get more information and patch her up D) track down who beat her up to a sketchy warehouse and demand to talk to them, with no weapons or ability to defend yourself whatsoever
If you chose D, you have the same level of intelligence and impulsively as our FMC, congrats!
Nearly getting knocked over gets Sophia (FMC) dragged into a new world that she knows nothing about by Lucas (her rescuer). More so when he offers her a job but theres more to her boss than she first thought. Which in turn throws up plenty of brilliant plot twists and turns as well as lots of fast paced action. Also one hell of a cliffhanger ending (quite literally!!). Im so looking forward to the next book now
This was Callie’s first MF series that I have read and even though I usually read RH, she has once again hooked me! I am in love with this series and all the characters.
We first get to meet the infamous Lucas Hale when he saves Sophia from a car one night after getting off work late. Then when Sophia’s sister gets framed for something she didn’t do by Sophia’s ex, she is tasked with stealing something from Lucas only to get caught red handed. The chemistry between these two was fantastic and the story was so good. I’m excited to see what happens in the next book after the crazy betrayal at the end of the book.
Something more is going on here and I have absolutely no idea what that is. OR I’m reading into things.. could be either 🤣
I snagged this whilst it was free, and usually that means I just download all the books and they sit on my kindle for a while, but I love Callie Rose (hello Oakpark Prep 🙋🏻♀️) and I just really fancied something different.
This book delivered on that and now I can’t wait to dive into book 2.
> There was nothing that was dark in this book, seriously, why is it tagged as DR? > Supernatural creatures that don't feel like they are otherworldly, just reskinned humans. For someone who is supposed to be Lucifer, he didn't feel like that. At all. >Predictable plottwists. >Insane fast burn- they barely knew each other for a week or so before realizing they're the love of each other's life. This pissed me off the most because there was NO chemistry, NO buildup, nada. Just ✨ vibes✨
I really enjoyed reading this book. It took me away to another world, once in which I could forget about my everyday worries and just relax with an awesome story. This book moves along at a speed which made for an enjoyable read. It has characters that you will love and a story that does not disappoint. This book needs to be read, no doubt about it.
I have been actively avoiding any fantasy romances that I see on booktok. However, this one lured me in. I mean, the devil is real right so it’s not a total fantasy 😂 this was good though. I liked that it was more from Sophia’s perspective than Lucifer’s. I did not expect the twist until right before it happened.
