I'm sure like so many other New Zealand brides I received this treasure of a book when I got married (amazingly enough, I didn't first get the other classic, Food For Flatters when I left home - don't know why, I was a lousy cook in those days)
My book is in far from pristine condition - well loved recipes like pikelets or bacon & egg pie are spattered with flour & sugar. I have just made peach jam for the first time & turned to my Edmonds with confidence. I knew the recipe wouldn't let me down. & I now have half a dozen jars of jewel coloured jam! I left them sitting on my kitchen bench for days, I was so proud!
My book dates from the 80s & my one criticism is the eccentric indexing at the back. I now know icing is page 60, but for many years I struggled to find it. Its under fillings & icings, which is between eggs & fish. Hopefully later editions have fixed this up!
