English Language Teacher's Handbook: How to Teach Large Classes with Few Resources

Rate this book
This book provides a highly practical and accessible guide to teaching English as a second language. It is a comprehensive guide to lesson planning and testing, covering all four modes of language (reading, listening, talking, and writing) and the teaching of grammar and vocabulary. With a particular emphasis on the challenge of teaching large classes, the authors provide advice on methods and resources that will make classes both more enjoyable and more effective for teachers and students alike.

This was a great book to begin my teaching endeavor in a 3rd world country. I was familiar with most of its methodology, but was grateful to have it all as one resource. All of the examples have been very useful and true in my circumsatnces here in Mongolia. Great lesson plan ideas, resource ideas, how to test and assess effectively, etc. I will definitely take this book back with me to the states and continue to use it in my classroom in America.
