Every day Ricky chooses a patka as part of his outfit - "patka, clothes, socks and shoes." On Mondays he wears red and pretends to be a firefighter. On Tuesdays he wears orange and pretends to be a superhero!
The book briefly describes what a patka is, what Sikhism is, and invites the reader to think about what colour they would pick for themselves.

Short, simple rhyming text with clear illustrations to keep kids' attention. Great for a read-aloud!

Reading age is 4-8. This book can be fora child that wears a patka so they won't feel embarrassed. The book goes that Ricky is going to wear his patka for the day and then he says that when he wears different colors he is something such as white he is an astrounat.it helps a child that wears A patka feel confident of wearing it.

A great preschool and up book about a boy whose is of the Sikh religion choosing is head covering or Patka based on his feelings that day and how the color changes his day.
