You tell yourself that it’s just a dream…
But it could be murder.
It’s almost Thanksgiving in Blue Valley, Tennessee and this year, the whole town is gathering for a feast, with everyone pitching in to do their part.

Alice, who’s well into the second trimester of her pregnancy, would love to be full of energy for the event, but unfortunately, she’s having trouble getting a decent night’s sleep.

One fateful night, as she’s wandering through the rooftop garden just ahead of an incoming thunderstorm, she witnesses what appears to be a murder, right in the middle of Main Street.

By the time she wakes her husband Luke and the two of them get downstairs, there’s no body, no killer—and no sign that anything is amiss.

Was the entire event just another one of Alice’s crazy pregnancy dreams? Or did something sinister actually happen?

Find out in this deliciously suspenseful Cozy Mystery!

I confess I was excited when I saw a new book in Ms. Cambert's Rooftop Garden cozy mystery series. I've read each of the previous books and was totally captivated by this series. The characters are so well developed now that I feel like I'm visiting old friends in Blue Valley when I open a new book in this series. Alice, Luke, Franny, Ben, Owen and Michael are searching for a missing person who might or not have been murdered. A few deft twists, a couple of red herrings that worked magic on me (I fell for them), family, friends and a town celebration of Thanksgiving made this an enchanting story that I didn't stop reading until I reached the end.

I love that we got another book in the series and a fun update on Alice and Luke's baby that's coming in a few months. She's so funny with all her wild eating-nothing in particular, she just eats everything like there's no tomorrow lol. That baby should have one good appetite! But poor Alice thought she was really losing it when she could've sworn she saw a murder or at the very least an attack of some kind late at night...but no evidence was there when she grabbed Luke to check.

It was great to see the gang in action sleuthing again and revisiting some of the people in town as they all got ready for the community Thanksgiving feast. The new piece of sculpture or whatever the big cranberry was that was built sure came in handy later on! I eventually figured out whodunit, and as always with this series, the friends all had some hand in catching the perp in the showdown.

The running joke of the feast prep was how Ethel was so into what the pilgrims really ate and was on everyone's case about making it more realistic. But when the feast was going on, she was definitely chowing down and not worried about authenticity. Just one of the fun little things I love about this series! Can't wait for the next no matter when it comes.

Although it isn’t official, Alice’s baby’s gender has been identified (Again. In the previous book, the psychic told Alice what she thought the baby is.) Since Alice is 5 months along, maybe the next book will have her giving birth.

Anyway, in this read as Alice awakens from a nap, she hears two people arguing while she is sitting in her chair in her rooftop garden. She can only hear bits and pieces of the conversation on the street below and some of those words include “poison” and “cranberry”. One of the people say something like “No. I won’t do it,” and then begins walking away. The other person picks up a planter and slams it on the head of the person walking away. The victim falls to the ground and ceases to move.

Alice quickly runs inside the house to wake her husband Luke, a police detective, up to report what she saw. They both run downstairs to check the street, but there is no body and nothing seems to be disturbed. Luke seems to think Alice just dreamed what happened and dismisses Alice’s claims.

The next morning Alice explains the occurrence to her sister-in-law Franny, “adopted” brother Owen, and “adopted” brother-in-law Michael. The one person who honestly believes something is wrong because he trusts Alice’s instincts is Michael.

So, Alice sets out with Franny and Owen - her crime fighting team - to question people in town to see if anyone is missing. The three sleuth around for a few days gathering clues and get closer to the truth.

It all ends well, but only after Alice gets a gun pulled on her and a person is imprisoned in a giant piece of fruit. Yes! You read that right. Someone gets shoved into a half ton of fruit! Lol.

This is another year Alice and her family have an especially happy Thanksgiving and are giving thanks for living through another day.

Next is book 15 in this 16 book series - “Murder Stalks Christmas”. Based on the title, we won’t see the new baby yet. Maybe it’ll be born in Book 16? Hopefully, because it’s the last book!

Alice is having trouble sleeping, her pregnancy is making her sleep very erratic. When she sees someone murdered from her rooftop garden, she wakes Luke and they go to find the body. When they can't find it she assumes she's dreamt the whole thing. However, when someone can't be found the next day, she's not so sure.

A great series of cozy mysteries set in Blue Valley, a tight knit town in Tennessee. Each book is a standalone mystery easily read in a couple of hours. The books are best read in order of publication to preserve continuity of the characters and series.

I really enjoy these books, I can't wait for the next book to be released.

Thanksgiving is approaching and Alice is in her second trimester and is having trouble sleeping. One night she wanders through the rooftop during a thunderstorm and witness a murder. But by the time she wakes her husband and goes down stairs there is no sign of foul play.

Could she have dream the incident as she had been having strange dreams. Once again this is a quick read in this delightful cozy series.

Well written small town murder mystery

Alice wakes up in the middle of the night with the baby kicking her. She goes out on the roof top patio. While out there she overhears two people arguing in the street. Then one hits the other with a planter. She goes in and wakes her husband Luke and they go down to the street but there is no one there. From there the intrigue picks up with many twists and turns and a surprise ending. A fun read.

Cranberries & Murder

The Rooftop gang is back with a Thanksgiving themed cozy. I fell in love with this series with book one, this book is just as good. I hope the author continues the series. Well written with great characters & setting, a place I'd like to visit (minus the murders of course!).

I always enjoy sitting down with a book from this series. The only problem I have is not wanting to put the book down once I start. This addition was no exception. The characters are like old friends and the storyline was fun. Of course the mystery was well plotted. My only complaint is having to wait for the next book!

Alice is having strange dreams and when she is up wondering around the rooftop garden she sees a murder but when she wakes up Luke and he tries to investigate with Ben they can't find any evidence or a body. Was she dreaming?

Love this series and all the characters. The story is well written and keeps you guessing til the end.

I love this series. The characters are great. I am excited for the next book when we may finally meet Alice and Luke's baby. Curious to find out if her doctor's prediction was right.
