Quizás no con la fuerza de Emilia Pardo Bazán (#DoñaEmiliaRocks), pero este libro es un regreso a los pazos, a la Galicia mítica, a través de una saga familiar que me ha enganchado desde la primera página. Elena Quiroga recrea una atmósfera claustrofóbica, donde se cultivan supersticiones y en la que los personajes luchan contra la herencia, la incomunicación y los prejuicios. Marcela, su protagonista, parece una creación de Emily Brontë y sirve para representar la cosificación de la mujer y la ...more

Es difícil de leer, con esa mezcla de palabras gallegas y hablar antiguo. Y la trama es dura, sobre todo si te pones en el lugar de Marcela y te sientes rechazada por todos, pobres y ricos, amos y criados, sin libertad alguna. La forma en que disponen de ella sin preguntarle, cómo la meten en un convento durante dos años sin que ella pueda decir esta boca es mía, su ignorancia, su sencillez, su falta de picardía... En fin, es una novela dura y nada amable, pero al fin y al cabo así era la vida ...more

It takes a while to get going but is, in the end, a very good read. Tardó en coger mi interés pero es un libro muy bueno.
