The first time I read this book I just felt very happy for a few weeks. The power of the techniques in this book is lifechanging. Implementation of all of them can be difficult - many of them are not easy, and just reading a book does not give enough push to do sth. This is one of the most practical books I’ve ever read, and even though Tony Robbins is not 100% correct (no one is), most of his strategies do work.

this book should be required reading for every single person in the world. amazing. how am I just learning about Anthony Robbins. I have always been the most motivated, determined person I know in every area of my life, but lately I had begun to lose that. Robbbins' book helped to take me out of this dark part of my life and has motivated me again to become something great during my one shot at life.

Knowing is not enough! You must take action.
Read for research on the topic of cognitive distortions and thinking patterns.
If you will read only one self-help book in life, I would recommend this one. Tony successfully mixes approaches of CBT, NLP and even a bit of existential psychotherapy to execute ideas and solutions for a person's life that are easy to understand and apply in real situations. He doesn't serve the usual positive thinking/false hope self-help control-bias but puts a shift of ...more

The pop psychology advice in this book about goal setting, decision making, bias to action, seeking help from others etc. will be useful to some and is not harmful.
What is harmful is the naive belief that if you want success enough, you can achieve it. For most people life is a quiet and desperate struggle for survival interspersed with some happy moments.

It is true you only get out of life what you put in.
I refer to your thoughts and your mindset.
We are a product of how we use our mind. Anthony Robbins is teaching that in this book.
If you want a get rich book I would not consider buying or reading this book. This book will make you rich but rich in mind, body, spirit and material wealth will follow if that is your desire.

I read just about everything Anthony released but Awaken the Giant is my favorite. I first read this book in the early 90's and since then Tony Robbins has released more books and more audio systems but the principles are still the same. This book was my introduction to Neuro Linguistic Programming which proves effective if you practice it (I emphasize if). Tony speaks a lot about his own experiences also and some of the struggles he faced growing up which allows the reader to make comparisons t

Probably one of the most popular self-help books ever written. I found it inspiring and insightful, although not all that original. Most of it was just common sense and standard psychology, particularly behaviorism and cognitive-behavioral therapy. The gist is that we can change our lives by changing our beliefs and thoughts, and associating pain with bad habits and pleasure with more beneficial habits.

Anthony Robbins is one of the most well known self-improvement and motivational speakers. Even though his first book 'Awaken the Giant Within' was published more than a decade ago, it still holds immense relevance in today's world. This is a book packed with plenty of strategies on how to take charge of your emotions, health, relationships and finances. It is a holistic book that offers timeless philosophies that can help you reach your true goals and discover your passion in life.

Anyone looking for a greater level in their life. Or anyone who is hungry for more.
One of the best and most comprehensive personal development books out there. The central message is this: you have the power right now to control how you think, how you feel, and what you do. Everything you could ever want, tangible or not, is all within you. Tony Robbins has a wealth of experience which he essentially puts in its rawest form into this book. I found it a fantastic read and IF IMPLEMENTED, then a sincere aid to your life and whatever you want out of it. HIs techniques I've listed

Anthony Robbins is one who needs no introduction as far as Personal Development goes. Reading Awaken the Giant within is akin to attending a spiritual retreat/workshop. This book is a whooping 500 and some pages. I purchased it about 2years ago but never quite got around to it. All along I kept saying to my friends that I know this book will change my life and indeed it has. I will never be the same again. This book is not to be read passively. A motivational and practical guide to the power of decisions in reaching our goals. I liked the themes of taking responsibility and continuously improving. It discusses success not only in financial terms, but also mental, emotional, and physical (bodily). It's somewhat overly optimistic at times, but far less cheesy than I expected.

"What makes a person with a "good background" behave so savagely and without remorse while another gives his own life to rescue complete strangers? What creates a hero, a heel, a criminal, a contributor? What determines the difference in human actions? Throughout my life, I have passionately sought the answer to these questions. One thing is clear to me: human beings are not random creatures; everything we do, we do for a reason. We may not be aware of the reason consciously, but there is undoub

I began reading this book after watching the Netflix doc on Anthony Robbins. The skeptical director spoke in length about his doubt and eventual conversion - which is what led me to read one of Robbins' books. I found a lot of the "inspirational" stories generic, overused, and out-dated. Granted, the book was originally written in the early 90s. But the most disappointing part was how these "inspirational" stories lacked depth. Considering that Robbins shares stories from a number of powerful an

Recommended to read this book by a friend. I read about 100 pages into it and decided that Anthony Robbins is really just full of himself, and is very long winded in telling you why. Has some good quotes, and his logic and methods make sense, but I grew tired of hearing about how successful he was an why between each point he expressed.

Offers a few gems in the midst of a lot of relatively redundant jargon the author made whilst developing his personal philosophy. In addition to the redundant jargon, the concepts themselves felt somewhat repetitive, so this book may be better used as a long term repository of uplifting/motivational stories and aphorisms.

As a disclaimer, I must say at the beginning that I am not easily sold to the self-help genre and that Mr. Robbins had always looked to mee more like a model for toothpaste commercials than a man of any substance. Now to the review. I truly, honestly do believe that every single human being on this planet should read this book. There are no magic formulas, there is no 'secret', there is no power of positive thinking, no 'Universe loves you' nonsense, but Robbins had masterfully managed to put in

This book reads like a a greasy sales pitch, and even though there were some interesting nuggets in there I just couldn't get into it because it felt too slimy. The cult of Tony Robbins is something I have no interest in indulging because I know some of those people and they are truly bonkers.

I believe that “Awaken the Giant Within” by Tony Robbins contains some helpful tips to life solutions and some fanciful solutions to life problems.
A few good things:
It states “the desire for gain must exceed the fear of failure” in order to accomplish something.
The book explains that what gives us pleasure we pursue and what give us pain we avoid. So the trick is to change the unpleasant situations into pleasurable ones. This is easier said than done, in my opinion.

I really don't feel good about self-help books and coaches.
I have my own religious opinions that the ultimate resolution you can make in your life is in your religion and specially ISLAM.
So anyway of trying to improve your life quality away from Islam, .......... well i kind of don't like it.
However you can look at this book in a way of holding useful tools and methods and making some distinctions in how you interpret your own emotions and other's behavior.

There is so much amazing information in this book on how to literally take charge of your life and get you to figure out why you you do the things you do.

“Enjoy making decisions. You must know that in any moment a decision you make can change the course of your life forever: the very next person you stand behind in line or sit next to on an airplane, the very next phone call you make or receive, the very next movie you see or book you read or page you turn could be the one single thing that causes the floodgates to open, and all of the things that you’ve been waiting for to fall into place.
