Rudolf Bultmann was often referred to, often assigned for courses at Grinnell College and at Union Theological Seminary. This was the most substantial of his works that I read, finishing it while taking Walter Wink's New Testament course. Bultmann is known for his introduction of 'form criticism' to the exegetical armory.
