After I stumble into an Irish bar called Shamrocked, my life will never be the same.
I may have celebrated my divorce a little too hard because I wake up in bed with a gargoyle statue. It takes a lot of coffee and my best friend's interrogation to recall exactly what happened after I stumbled into an Irish bar. The statue has to be cursed because it keeps moving by itself, and I start dreaming of a man.
Doran. He’s been trapped in stone and darkness for centuries. He tells me I’m the treasurekeeper, and I need to find his friends, the other three legendary Irish treasures: the Spear of Lug, the Sword of Light, and the Cauldron of the Dagda. My only clue to go on is the bar, Shamrocked, but it’s not on any map of Kansas City. If I can find it again… maybe the gargoyle will finally let me sleep in peace.
Irish Treasures includes the complete trilogy: Shamrocked, Leprechauned, and Evil Eyed.
I absolutely love how they Author took lore and legends and spun it in to a very great story. Riannis amazing. She survived so much to get to where she is. Her treasures are everything she could possibly need. Together they have a long journey ahead of them filled with laughter love and some evil trying to take over the world
I honestly couldn’t get through this one... I got about halfway and was just too bored. The main female character was not what I enjoy. She was not confident at all and I was surprised she got as far as she did in bringing them all together. The sex was mediocre for a Rh romance.
This review is for the whole trilogy and contains a spoiler.
Low 3-stars.
Yawn. That's my final verdict on this series. The writing is perfectly competent, and I liked the characters well enough, even if their character archetypes are pretty ham-handed. But there isn't anything special here. Well, except for the heroine, who is just the specialist Special to ever special. As the books went on and more of her mystery was revealed, she progressively became more and more of a Mary Sue. By the end, she was made out to be so perfect and so worshiped that I felt like I should dislike her on principle, just to balance the scales.
But here's my biggest complaint (after just boredom, by the end). The author denies the reader the most important parts of the plot. The book starts with the heroine waking up with a gargoyle statue in her bed. By chapter two, she's already well into the mania caused by the statue talking to her. The reader is left out of all this tension building and just told this has been going on for days. Even all the loves are instant (all of them), so you don't see any build-up there either.
Similarly (and much, much worse), the book ends the same way. She does the big important thing that the whole book has been building up to, passing out in the process (dies, really, and comes back, but same difference). When she wakes up, she asks if they won and is told that she did succeed and everyone lives happily ever after.
560 pages trying to best the villain (who was super obvious, btw), and the author chose not to show his defeat or the Treaures' endings. Honestly, I'm not even sure if the villain was killed or if the heroine merely returned magic to the worlds. Like, I'm legitimately not even sure what winning constitutes in this situation BECAUSE I WAS NOT SHOWN and barely told. To say it was anticlimactic is a complete understatement.
All in all, if you like a Mary Sue this is a good series for you. But I found it underwhelming, on the whole.
I absolutely demolished this series. I read it two months ago and I honestly still haven’t stopped thinking about it since. It’s sweet, spicy, action packed, and addictive as all hell. It made me feel all the feels and made me cry at points too. I haven’t stopped recommending this series to people since, it’s so good! I think initially I might have given it 4.5 stars, just because I like to leave a small grace as nothing in life is perfect, but i’m still thinking about one part in particular that made me well up, it was so beautifully done, so this series deserves the full 5 stars. Will definitely check out more of her work.
I did intuitively know what I was getting into when I picked this ebook. I loved the story! Gathering the things (warriors) she needed and trying to win the war. I was way over my head when it came to the sex. Way outside my comfort zone. I got really good at skipping ahead by the last carnal scene in the book. Next time I will make a better decision not to borrow one so . . .
In this day and age poly relationships are becoming more common BUT definitely not for me though. I’m still a one man, one woman kind of gal. Despite my upbringing, morals & values I enjoyed the book. Definitely an interesting read. IF you into having multiple partners &/or poly relationships this book is for you.
Third time I've read it...not for luck but because I love it. Love the strong male personality. Love the girl who is getting what she deserves. It's all lovely!
It's a multiverse. There's "Easter eggs" all through this series that falls back to House Isador and I'm here for it. Also, why are the book boyfriends so much better than real life?
There are so many intricacies and each character is so very well developed it has so much story and lore and intrigue and love and emotion without feeling dragged down in sorrows. Love it
This was better than I thought it would be very adventurous and dangerously sensual. I got this for free otherwise I'd never get a series to read at all. It's not just another harem gangbang book, it actually has a lot of deep intriguing and intrusive subjects and storytelling.
This three book set was amazing. I loved every single minute of reading. The characters were so well written. The strong female leads were believable. Strong but loving. They fought to over come past issues. Love wins.highly recommend.
This group finds the priceless treasure of love. And save the world in order to keep it. An ancient cycle of rebirth, war, love and magic. I’m glad I waited for the set. But I stayed up way too late last night to finish it!
this was an interesting why choose fae romance. I enjoyed parts of it more than others but I couldn’t help but compare it to her Their vampire queen series
I enjoyed this book and this series. I wouldn't say I loved it, but it did its job of taking me out of reality and allowing me to lose myself in the pages.
Like all of Joely's books, another grand slam in this series! I love the mesh of myth and fantasy and a very fiery lady with her men at her side no matter what!
These books were amazing. I really enjoyed the excitement and suspense, but the way this group interacted was magnetic. These books were truly spell binding and I couldn't put them down.
