The Lawyer’s Heart by J. J. Miller 2/2/2023 Kindle
This is the third and most recent in this author’s Cadence Elliot legal series and I found it the best to date. I thought the story line was stronger than prior books and I was eager to see where the back story will go.
In this installment Cadence fights to defend a public relations woman charged with the murder of an investigative reporter. She begins looking into Washington D. C. politics and a large pharmaceutical company. The action is steady and although it is a quick read, the story holds your attention and characters are interesting. I will continue to follow the series and would recommend the book to others.

Could not put it down, the book. One more engrossing book by the author. Characters etched out well, storyline moves fast and oh yes the court room drama leaves you wondering as to which way it will swing.

Great story
This is the second book of a series and trust me you will want to read both.The characters are all very believable and keeps you turning the pages.Cadence is a fantastic character and I hope that J.J writes more books with her. This a great story that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Great characters
Fast-paced with lots of plot twists. Miller is quite adept at developing characters that are easy to believe. Surprising development to end the book and point to the future.

another riviting story, with a surprising end.
Always hard to put a cadence story down and this one cost me many hours sleep. Can’t wait to see how the new “ family “ works out.

Exceptional series! I have loved every one of the Cadence Elliot books but this one is the best! Powerful, gripping and jaw-dropping. But the ending....omg, I can hardly stand waiting for book 4!! Please hurry!

insight that demands a verdict.
I would hire her as my lawyer ,if I was a person of questionable character. Her professional drive and insight were awesome and still held on to integrity. I liked the way the author handled the explanation of legal behavior and it’s impact to present alternative reactions to the story. I wondered if it was based on the truth or literary freedom. I appreciate work that causes me to want to investigate reality for a deeper knowledge.

Unconventional client with a twist in the trial and a twist at the end
As we follow Cadence and the trial and tribulations Ben her son continue to read what if she will get to have a relationship with him and his parents.
Also continue to read as we follow Cadence as she gets a new client and all the trial and tribulations her client puts her through while she tries to represent him and all the twists and turns that happen.

Sweet and vicious
J.J. Miller has really set the bar high with the Cadence Elliott series. The story has a way of drawing the reader in and set the scenes I can see in my head. The characters that are cemented in their roles and some already feel like friends. I cannot wait to see what's next. Pure reading bliss!

Great story
Really enjoyed this story and series. Loved Cadence and her character. Was uncertain that she would win this last case due to the evidence in the, but her drive to prove a case takes many twist and turns. Glad for the closure for her personal journey. Excellent book\ series. Highly recommended.

Another late night reading JJ Miller
All three books are superb. Cadence is the bomb! Even when the plot turns and she suddenly wins, you root for you feel, you experience, how hard she has worked. I’m glad that she has the opportunity to know her son, Ben. Looking forward to book #4.

Best of the series
I stumbled on to this series when looking for something new. I have enjoyed all three but this was the best one yet. Loved the ending and I look forward to the next one to see how Cadence and Ben develop. Also loved the courtroom dialogue it seemed real. Overall, a good book and series. More please!!!!!

Needs proofreading! Helter skelter writing
The premises of the story were never fleshed out. Reading was interrupted often with the poor proofreading that had been done.
The chief character was at times an intelligent woman and at times depicted as befuddled.

A very good read
This is a well written book. It has Intrigue and lots of depth. Well developed characters, good story line and many redeeming qualities. I highly recommend this book.

Gripping, plausible, thoroughly enjoyable.
Cadence has developed as a character through the series.
Often there are some gaps or errors in the storylines of such books - none in these.
Read all three, one after the other, as I've done. Excellent all round.

Very readable seties
Excellent series with one plot running through all three books. Characters are developed well and secondary story lines have great twists in them. Well written and enjoyable reading.

I figured out the storyline for the court case quick...it was too predictable. Then I was ready to quit the series. But then the last chapter made me want to read the next book..

Anotber great legal thriller by J.J. Miller
I thoroughly enjoy his knowledge of the law as well as the twists and turns. But the personal touch gives even more depth to his stories. As with his other books, I couldn't put it down!

What a fabulous series all three books are top notch. This is the icing on the cake the very best of what is out there to read. J j Miller you knocked it out the park with this book. I highly recommend this to anyone that enjoys a great story.

This book had enough personal content make the lawyer believable. Unfortunately it also kept me from putting it down before I reached the end. Good plot , good character portrayal.

Mystery, romance, and excitement all wrapped up in one good novel. This is the third book about Cadence Wlliott, a young lawyer who has fought her way from a grim trailer park to a top notch law firm. I can't wait for book number 4.

Wonderful series!
Really enjoyed this book and like J.J. Miller said, it’s delightful to see Cadence in a better place without having to keep looking over her shoulder wondering when she will meet her killer.
