I came across this book again having read it a while back. It’s a very good guide to all vegetables. A good cookbook to have in a collection!

I was super pumped when I found this book. Most cookbooks, even vegetarian cookbooks, don't put much of an emphasis on vegetables. More Vegetables Please! was written by Elson Haas, a doctor and nutrition specialist, and Patty James, a chef and nutritionist. The first half of the book focuses on how to incorporate more vegetables into your diet, while the last half is made up of delicious recipes.

While this book is filled with wonderful ways of adding vegetables to normally veggieless meals, the writing is somewhat unclear at times and can be a little hard to read. In addition some of the recipes can be intimidating with the shear number of ingredients (sometimes expensive).

Overall, if you're looking for a book to help you and your family eat better, check out this book.

This is a good little cookbook, except for the lack of pictures. The front section was interesting and informative, and a lot of the recipes sounded pretty good. There were a few tofu recipes that weirded me out a bit, but tofu is creepy. There's also a couple dessert recipes I'd like to try. I got this from the library, but it may be worthy buying a copy.

I wanted to review this book since I was planning to detox for up to two weeks. However, these recipes does allow eggs which on his detox, does not recommend or suggest. Therefore, I did try the egg recipe (bake in the oven) but used brown rice instead of wild rice. I wonder if it would have tasted better if I did what was recommended. This recipe was quite bland even though I added other seasonings/herbs than just salt and pepper as suggested. I plan to try again with wild rice next time since it was fairly decent. I know to tweak it next round and add onions.

I will attempt the chicken noodle recipe, balsamic dressing, and the avocado dressing. I only found up to 5 recipes to try in the entire book. I will see how the chicken noodle one comes out...good it also shows how to make your own vegetable and/or chicken broths than store bought.

Overall, I like cookbooks that have a high number of recipes I can try or would like to make, unfortunately, this one fell short.
