History doesn’t always stay buried. And loyalty isn’t always given freely.
It’s the winter of 1986, and Holly Wade is a blushing bride on the cusp of the perfect life with the perfect man. I do’s are spoken. Promises are exchanged. And lifetimes are planned.
It all seems so picturesque on the outside. But just three weeks after that day, Holly’s car ends up beneath a semi truck, and her body, soon transported to the George Stanley medical examiner’s office.
Thirty-six years later, Holly’s file is dropped onto Detective Archer Malone’s desk, and her on my table inside Autopsy Room One.
My husband is a homicide detective. And I, the chief medical examiner lucky enough to work by his side as we bring killers to justice and peace to victims who’ve been wronged.
But with family pulling us one way, and our careers demanding more than ever, we soon realize, something has to give. Danger is close, and bullet wounds bring us both pain.
Can a couple newlyweds weather this kind of storm and come out stronger on the other side?
Sinful Deceit is the fifth book in a fresh new suspense series written by Emilia Finn. This book is intended for an 18+ audience and contains graphic scenes that may be disturbing to some readers.

What was only supposed to be a once off experience instead turned into a career for Emilia, a thriving empire, and a daily grind she never wants to be rescued from.

Although focused on a cold case, Archer is recuperating from a gun shot wound and Minka is learning how to be the caregiver for her new husband. As they dive deeper into the 36 year old case, they must also balance the victim’s family as well as their own. This story picks up where book 4 left off and has more Medical examiner procedural than the previous books in the series, while still providing the amazing chemistry and sexual banter of our beloved characters.
Emilia Finn did it again! Every book is my favorite and each new one makes me fall more and more in love with her characters! I cannot wait for the next one...
Another interesting read in this romance/suspense/police series. Please read the books in order for the best experience, as the backstory re the character's lives is ongoing. The murder investigation in this book is wrapped up. There are some steamy romance scenes and fun scenes as well as some grizzly autopsy scenes.
This series has kept me interest, but this is the first book that was boring. Nothing really happened and I had their cold case figured out quickly. Minka’s secret isn’t that serious because she hasn’t been active for three books now. I’m still gonna read the next book.
We're up to book 5 already and I'm enjoying the character development. Archer and Minka are now settling into married life but forces circling might have Archer stepping back into a life he long ago escaped.
While Minka try's to discover how her victim died Archer and Fletcher are trying to solve a 36 year old cold case.
If you like JD Robb's In Death series you will enjoy this series but it must be read in order as the story and characters are building and developing as the series continues.
This series keeps getting better and better!! It has so much suspense and intrigue immersed in the phenomenal world building. The case is great, and has the potential to open other cans of worms. It’s always fun to see the banter between the core characters, Minka, Archer, Fletch, Aubree, and Tim. We finally get to see a bit more communication between Tim and Aubree, and I wish I had a crystal ball to see the future of that relationship!😂 I love the whole dynamic of Minka and Archer’s relationship and how they are evolving, but keeping the chemistry! I am on the ride of this series until the wheels come off at the end! With the potential subplots floating out there, it’s impossible not to be hooked and invested. I can’t wait until the next one!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A cold case and the Malones pestering Archer in Copeland?! What a ride! I feel like I keep saying this but this series just keeps evolving and getting better. Each book brings a new crime and mystery to solve. And each time we get more and more out of the characters. Minka and Archer are married and trying to adjust to their new normal. Archer’s family keeps calling and threats are around every corner. We finally get a peek into Tim and Aubree’s dynamic and conundrum. The mafia is calling. Will Archer and Tim answer the call?
I hate to play favorites but I think this group may be my favorite. They are so dynamic and entertaining. Each time the layers pull back and we learn more about what makes them tick. The family unit they have formed is heartwarming and so special. This series holds a bunch of intrigue and mystery that you won’t want to miss!
Just when you think you’ve figured it out… things aren’t what you think. The Archer, Minka, Fletcher, Aubree & Tim saga continues. Don’t forget Mia’s obsession with “hotdogs on a stick”… Holly’s voice is finally heard and brings the dysfunctional “family by choice” closer linked with jewelry, coffee, food & loyalty. Question remains who is Penny really and did Aubree & Tim “do the deed”?… Emilia Finn cheers to another 50!!! Another one knocked out of the park ❤️🔥❤️🔥
This series brings vibes of Nora Roberts and Mary Higgins Clark. I LOVE their style of writing, and Emilia is right there with them!!!
Fletch opens a cold case of a 23 year old woman who died 36 years ago. Archer sneaks back to help Fletch with the case during his recovery. Felix is still lurking around. Aubree refuses to speak to Tim. Mia has a young hot nanny that Fletch swears he won't touch. Minka grows in her relationship with Archer, and in her friendship with Aubree.
I love Minka and Archer and how much they live each other. Emilia Finn you make me want to be in their world to be friends with them and enjoy all the banter. This book gave me all the love feels. You never disappoint I go through your books so fast and then am disappointed when I get to the end. Can’t wait for the next one. What a ending I’m on pins and needles. I never expected the killer to be who it was. Btw I feel sorry for Felix.

Emilia Finn is a master once again. The 5th book in this world of dead bodies, mafia brothers, smoking hot detectives and neurotic medical examiners is so freaking addictive. Minka and Archer are so good it’s hard to even continue to put into words how much everyone should be reading these books. Please get on the train and start this journey. Not just this series but anything with Emilia Finns name on it….read it. Just read it. You won’t regret it!
Minnnnnka. Gah I’m still loving this series of Minka and Archer. More Bones feels but this time, since Archer us supposed to be on medical leave, we dive into a cold case. A 36 year old cold case that is and it’s linked to some suspicious suicide. Damn dirty cops.
I say damn dirty cops, but I think that kinda what Fletch and Archer are, right? Anyways, while bringing justice to a wrongfully diagnosed victim, Archer and Minka grow closer. Thankfully, Archer accepted Minkas proposal, and we start off on their week right after the marriage. Aubree is still struggling with what she found out about the Malone brothers and being lied to. Minka is rightfully worried because hello, vigilante.
I kind of love Minka and Aubree’s friendship just as much as Minka and Archers. I mean matching anklets soldered on? Yeah that sounds like Aubree. Minka needs to tell Aubree the truth before it’s too late. It makes me nervous. I can also see Archers reasoning to not tell Aubree, protectiveness at its finest.
I’m excited for more into the story of the Malones. Why do I have a feeling we will be leaving Copeland and heading back to New York? Or maybe that’s just what I hope, and we drag Aubree along with since her and Tom belong together??
I simply am obsessed with this series and these characters! Minka and Archer keep being entertaining! A brand new case, a cold one of 36 years brings Minka, Aubree, Archer and Fletch together to fight to find the truth. Meanwhile, Felix is still around. We are introduced to Elijah, a fun one and Aubree tries yo come to grips with Tim's revelations. A storm is brewing, I can feel it, it's going to be wild!
The team this time have a very cold case.T victim’s sister knows her sister did not commit suicide. Holly had been buried 36 years before. Who planned it and what was the method? How could her death be suicide if she died in a car wreck? It appeared to be suicide until her body is exhumed and then surprises startle the ME and the investigators. Great read. The love story of the investigator and the ME grabs your interest even more!
If you haven’t read an Emilia Finn book then you don’t know what your missing ! She has the skill and talent to bring to life these fictional characters where you just fall in love with them , you get invested in their “lives” it’s an amazing ride with ALL her books !! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You know it's funny, between books I keep telling myself "I'm not as invested in this series as I have been in the others." Yet the awesomeness that is Emilia Finn sucks me in with every release! Great continuation of the series! Looking forward to the next installment.
They just keep getting better and better the more you get to know this world of characters. They are snarky and sassy, cool and smooth and so ultimately lovable. The growth between Archer and Minka has my heart speeding. The relationship between Aubrey and Tim is sizzling. And Fletcher leaves each scene with laughter in my head. Love this world.
Minka has given up being rude, which ruined books 1 and even 2. She and Archer have finally quit fighting so much. I found the case they work in this book to be the most interesting, even including the next book, which is as far as I've read.
The whole series needs better editing, but I've seen much worse.
You never know what is gonna come from a case even if it is a cold case. I enjoyed the softer side of Minka. Aubrey has some difficult decisions to make in the future. I think everyone had a role in this and I also believe that everyone is going to have a future role in the Malone brother’s situation.
Do us all a favor and start at book 1. Minka is amazing, smart, strong, and confident. I’m not disappointed and I did read it nonstop once I received the notification that it was available.
Ms. Finn-I give you your flowers for another amazing piece of work.
My favorite part of this series are the characters. I also love all the little moments between Minka and Archer and how their relationship develops and is portrayed in this book. We definitely see a different side of Minka this time.
Another great one! She's amazing! Only problem with Emilia Finn's books is I devour them in one day.
I love her stories, the research that goes into them. She's awesome, but now I have to wait again for the next, and I already know it's going to be great!
Wow what a book!! I am LOVING this series. Each book has it all, humor, suspense, mystery, smexy time. I cannot get enough of this group! So excited for the next one in this series! Emilia Finn has nailed it again!
Archer and Ninja are back and ready. Love the fact that they can find a way to accept each other and still love unconditionally. As always its a delight catching up with all our other character.
The family dynamics in this story keep you on the edge of your seat. This is an amazing read that leaves you waiting impatiently for the next book. I'm so glad we get to read the next book soon.
These just keep getting better! I love all the characters and plot twists! Finn keeps you on your toes with so many story lines going on at the same time! Couldn’t put this one down!
Well the storyline is getting better. I think it will finally be to a good spot in the sixth book. Minka still keeps questioning her relationship with Archer almost like she wonders if she made the right choice. I’m still in it to the end so one more to go.
