Zachariah was a true craftsman. It was the passion to reach true perfection that drove him to work long after he should have retired. With the aid of the spirit of his long dead wife each piece that was commissioned not only restored years to Zachariah’s life but imbedded each piece with a special mysticism. Now as a new piece of jewelry has just been commissioned, jealousy has fl ared and an evil as old as time itself is straining against its chains to be unleashed to wreak havoc upon the latest client, an innocent young girl that has become dear to Zachariah’s heart. Several masterpieces of jewelry, each bearing the maker’s mark of the crimson Z... Five stories of romance, each written by a different Black Velvet Seductions’ author... All told from the lips of an old jeweler who is falling in love with a girl way too young for him. Will the jewelry bring the wearer love or will it be a curse releasing unthinkable evil on unsuspecting lovers?
I LOVED THIS BOOK! “The Crimson Z: A Compendium of the Paranormal” is a great read, with well thought out characters and a great story line. Even with stories within the main story, one doesn’t lose track and the transitions flow smoothly.
The multiple authors did a grand job! They managed to combine their talents to create a wonderful novel in “The Crimson Z”
The Crimson Z is a fabulous story, with great characters and a little bit of ‘naughty” sex slipped in. Once I started reading it, I couldn’t put it down.
I received this book for free, to review. Member of Goodreads, Librarything and the Penguin Book Club.
I love the idea of a frame story involving a jewelry story that sells magical objects and I like that different authors told the object's stories. The big reason that I did not like the story was that Melanie and "Papa" Zach's relationship was just creepy, and Melanie's backstory seemed very unrealistic.
I must confess a bias as I did the cover, and know not only the other others on this anthology but my first publication is on here as well The Anniversary, but having said that I still found the book an enjoyable read reading the others stories masterfully tied together by the Author Robert Cloud
