It is a dream come true for ten-year-old Becky when her parents take her and her younger sister on a cruise to the Bahamas.

But nothing is how it is supposed to be when her parents can’t stop fighting, and soon the trip turns out to be a true nightmare.

It becomes a puzzling mystery when she and her sister disappear as the ship is about to dock in Coco Cay.

How do you disappear on a cruise ship?

Why can’t they be found?

Could they have fallen overboard?

FBI profiler Eva Rae Thomas is flown in to assist on this bizarre but very time-sensitive case.

The parents both claim to know what happened to their children. Each of them blames the other for kidnapping them.

Who is telling the truth?

Meanwhile, the passengers are not allowed to leave the ship as the search continues, causing the tension to rise onboard. It becomes a race against time as a frustrated Eva Rae Thomas tries to find out what happened in the hours up until the disappearance of the two children.

When one of the children is found dead, she realizes this is more than a simple case of a parental dispute.

There’s a killer onboard.

FBI Agent Eva Rae Thomas is in for some big surprises when she and her team investigate child predators on a cruise ship of 1,000+ vacationers docked at a private island in the Bahamas in Willow Rose’s, “Say It Isn’t So,” — the 12th installment in this series.

Some of the bizarre revelations revealed during the course of this novel, as well as disclosed during suspect interviews by the FBI with an NFL footballer, a conspiracy theorist, and a paparazzi include alien invaders, cannibalism among ‘reptilians’, and government sponsored vaccine mind control.

Although there is plenty of white noise to filter through, there is a disturbing storyline at the center that Willow Rose tells beautifully. Sadly, it is based on a couple of true stories.

JoyReaderGirl1 graciously thanks NetGalley, Author Willow Rose, and Publisher Bouy Media LLC for this advanced readers copy for review.

Catastrophes at sea happen more often than we know. The author has highlighted the possibility of a murderer on board and has written a great murder mystery set at sea and incorporated unforeseen twists.

In a nutshell: While on a family vacation onboard a luxury cruise ship, two young passengers go missing.

I’m always cautious about books that focus on harm done to children, so I did read with trepidation. I must have been thoroughly engaged in the story as I kept reading despite a big shock that I hadn’t anticipated.

The characters are unreliable and unlikeable, making it easy for readers to add them to their suspect list and the varying points of view offer readers more insight into their armchair investigative work. The shifting points of view occur within chapters and without warning, so this book will keep readers on their toes!

An avid cruiser, I found parts of this mystery lacked the research to make it believable. Two of my main concerns are with the investigative team and the cruise card use. I couldn’t believe that the investigative team failed to check the RFID access to the cabins! I also couldn’t believe that the female cabin steward was being referred to as a cleaning lady. Furthermore, her ability to exist on the ship without her card and her opportunity to invite family onboard three times during a contract are unbelievable. There were a few other instances of misinformation which could have been cleared up with surface-level research.

Regardless, I am thankful for the opportunity to read a book centered around my favourite type of holiday - a cruise.

I was gifted this book by Buoy Media and NetGalley and was under no obligation to provide a review.

We’ve got conspiracy theory, an affair, a killer, a kidnapping, suspicious passengers and crew! Any one of the 5,000 passengers could have done it or have seen something that will help FBI detective Eva Rae solve this mystery.
I’m giving this book a 4-star rating based on; the fact that I enjoyed the story, I wanted to keep reading to see the final outcome. I kept thinking about the story when I wasn’t reading. I will recommend this book to others.

This was a thought-provoking take on a whose-who of lying and scheming. I really enjoyed getting the different perspectives and backstories of the characters. I really thought I knew what was happening and the author did an excellent job of navigating the reader through the labyrinth of hectic activity. This book was a fast-paced read with a lot going on, keeping the reader enthralled for every part of the story.

This was such a good book, I was unable to put it down. I was never able to guess the plot, as just as you think you might have it, a spanner is thrown in.
I enjoyed the plot of being on a cruise ship (having my first cruise holiday in 2023), it was really interesting to hear from behind the scenes and also when things don't go to plan for the holiday makers when they have only alcohol for entertainment.

I voluntarily reviewed a advance copy of this book.

This is my 1st book by the author i like the storyline. Thanx to NetGalley for approving my request. The book is a short thriller where two girls were missing in a cruise and both parents accused each other of kidnapping. Passengers are not allowed of board and everyone is disturbed but may be the killer is among them. The book don't have lots of twist and the story is a short thriller but i enjoy reading it. Definitely recommend to the readers of short mysteries.

🚨🚨🚨My Review🚨🚨🚨

Dream vacation turns into every parents worst nightmare . Wow
this was a totally gripping psychological thriller with one jaw-dropping twist after another. I
Started and finished all in one day. I found this story extremely addictive. The end of every chapter leaves you wanting more. As the story progresses you get to know the parents along with one of the maids and her brother. Before you know it you become interested in their story as well. Nothing on this ship is as it seems. After they found the youngest daughter dead in a suitcase my heart broke in a millon places. I never did connect with either of the parents but I had to know what happened to the girls and why. Now that there’s a killer onboard and time is ticking will they find their oldest daughter alive ? At the end of the story i was blew away with not 1 but 2 huge plot twist that not only did i not see them coming but they had my mouth hanging open.

This makes the second book I've read by this author and I must say I will be looking up and adding more of her books to my tbr list.

I fully admit I've been on a few cruises in my life and love them, I can only imagine the experience would be vastly different if there had been crimes on board, especially the type of crimes we find in this book.

With a dual timeline that was fairly easy to follow we have the story of Bryan an NFL player, and his wife Tina who may or may not be a tad shy of needing a stay in one of those nice places people go for "exhaustion" and their two children, Becky and Nicky.

The trouble starts shortly after Bryan and Tina get married and she makes some troubling comments to his family and seems to get more and more radical as the marriage goes on.

They decide to take a family cruise, Becky being ten years old was excited about the ship and the ports and the private island with the water park, her little sister Nicky was just happy to be getting time with her whole family and being well a three year old.

All of this brings us to the plot of this twisty tale of who did what, with everything from kidnapping to murder this one kept me on my toes the entire time, and while this may have been my first Willow Rose book it won't be my last.

Trying to figure out who was telling the truth, who had done what, and who was out to get who kept my brain spinning in the very best of ways and was a great example of a locked room.... well ship mystery. After reading this I don't think I'll ever look at cruise ships the same way again.

Thank you to NetGalley and BuoyMedia for providing a copy of this ebook, I have voluntarily read and reviewed it and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

A mystery, a cruise ship, a who done it !
Becky is 10 years old and so excited to be going on a cruise with her little sister, Nicky and her mom and dad. Dad is an NFL football player and doesn’t get to go on vacation much so this was going to be the trip of all trips to the Bahamas.
Becky was disappointed that her parents had been arguing the morning they left for the cruise, and it continued once they were onboard. Becky’s mom, Tina started drinking and stayed on the ship with her while her dad, Bryan took Nicky off the ship for the day while in port. When they came back Becky was visibly upset that her mother had been drinking all day and ignoring her . Bryan confronted Tina and they continued to fight. They argued into the night and Tina left the room and Bryan went looking for her . The girls were left alone . When Tina returned to the room the girls were missing .
There’s a death, missing children and suspicious parents and even a few questionable crew staff.

I was interested to read this book for the cruise ship topic and the mystery but could only give it a 3 star for the fact several parts were really far fetched including emotions, reactions and what an FBI agent would really do and say.
Clever ending , didn’t see it coming at all.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

Another Great Eva Rae Thomas Mystery by Willow Rose -- SAY IT ISN’T SO is the twelfth installment of the Eva Rae Thomas series. As usual, Ms Rose gives us a great suspenseful and well-written page turner with great characters.

A mother and two children go missing on a family cruise. When the mother suddenly appears, the fireworks start as each parent accuses the other of getting rid of the children. Pulling into port, no one is allowed to leave the ship, as Special Agent Eva Rae Thomas is called in to help find the missing children, hopefully quickly for the children's sake and before angry passengers start a riot.

Every time I thought I had it figured out, the twists and turns had me looking at someone else. After all, there is a cruise ship filled with suspects.

I could not put this book down and would recommend it to anyone who loves a good mystery. I did receive an ARC of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.

I like willow rose books. They are clean and have the suspense I love. This one I didn’t love as much as others because it involved the dad killing his children. That bothered me. I love a good twist and this one took a turn I didn’t ever suspect. I just couldn’t wrap my head around the end.

As I am reading the story, soon I get a "Huh, what the hell" moment. So, settle in and prepare to be reading till the end. A mother and her two children are missing on an enormous cruise ship. The husband/father is a famous NFL player. Did he throw them overboard? Did the mother jump taking her children with her? Eva Rae is flown out to the ship to help find them...hopefully alive. To say that I was NOT prepared for the ending is putting it mildly. I followed the path blindly as the author wanted until the rug was pulled out from my feet. Well played Willow, well played. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

A.Bit .of a Letdown

Mediocre thriller compared to the ones I usually read. The culprit's motive was not very developed nor realistic. Quick and easy read that kept me interested but felling like something was missing at the conclusion.

Better than her last book!

This book was a bit convoluted, but not as bad as the evil twin novel! It was different having Eva Rae away from her family the entire time - just working a case. There was no romance whatsoever in this book.

This is the twelfth book in Willow Rose's brilliant "Eva Rae Thomas" series, each one as good as the last.
It was one of the biggest cruise ships in the world, nineteen storeys, high and cruising the Bahamas, two small girls had disappeared along with their mother. The ship had berthed at a private island and FBI profiler Eva Rae Thomas had been brought in to find them alive, but one child was dead, this was no longer a search for children that may have wandered off, it was a race against time to find the second child alive, there was a murderer on board.
This book is set over two timelines, the early life of famous NFL footballer and his wife to be Tina, and the present day when Tina and her two children ten year old Becky and three year old Nicky had disappeared.
The FBI had issued a statement that no one was to leave the ship, it had to be searched, it would be like looking for a needle in a haystack.
When the names of the passengers were put through the FBI database several passengers were red flagged but with the father blaming his psychotic wife who had been drinking all day and who he had been seen arguing with both of them had also to be on the suspect list.
As with all Willow Rose books, the suspects are many and each with their own stories, I suspected each one in turn and no, I didn't guess the ending.
The tension on the ship was palpable, over six thousand people had paid a lot of money to visit the private paradise island and they were being kept prisoner on this floating skyscraper.
This story is action packed and suspense filled and I can really recommend it.
I received a free copy of this book and my review is voluntary.

You hear of people disappearing off a cruise ship and it is usually alcohol-related or a baffling mystery that never gets solved. This was a wonderful thrilling read that I will highly recommend to all my friends, family and patrons as it is a wonderfully written mystery that just sucks you in until it is done. Fabulous book.

So this was… interesting. My first by this author. A super quick read but I figured this was a juvenile writer - not someone with so many titles under her belt! The character development is non-existent (aside from the kooky mom) and leads to an unbelievable conclusion. I thought the conspiracy theorist angle was at least fresh - some premises from Q Anon, basically - but (spoiler) had nothing to do with the pivotal investigation at hand.

Neither parent is believably devastated following the discovery of their dead 3 year old. Instead, the parents keep pointing the finger at one another.

A few other puzzles:
- Why did the conspiracy theorist wife agree to take this vacation when this couple was on the verge of splitting?
- what was the explanation for the mom’s choking wounds appearing self-inflicted?
-was the paparazzi in on the killings? Or just think he was taking photos to frame the wife and, if so, what would his role have been if the dad succeeded in killing all 3 while he was hired to be following their every move?
- the paparazzo was shot in the shoulder, then unconscious for the remainder of the book??
- huge spoiler!!!
why did the doting husband kill his children for the sake of an affair?

Pros:
Suspenseful, quick read
Cons:
Felt juvenile, overwritten/exaggerated plot

Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

Note: the advance copy had a lot of formatting issues (unclear when the character POV changed, weird spacing)

Willow Rose has another hit in her Eva Rae Thomas series. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat turning pages until the end. And then you are hit with a surprise. Eva is sent to a docked ship in the Bahamas to investigate a missing mother and her children. With lots of red-herrings, Eva Rae has a tough case to solve. But when the mother is found and one of her children is found murdered and the other still missing, the parents go at each other with blame. This case has Eva Rae in full blown investigative mode especially since children are involved. Can Eva uncover the truth and find the other missing child? Who would murder a child? You will turn page after page trying to figure it out, but you will be hit in the face with a surprise ending! Willow Rose is incredible when it comes to descriptions and characterizations and her use of words and phrases that make you unable to put her books down when you begin them! I highly recommend the Eva Rae Thomas series! I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

A family takes a cruise to the Bahamas with their two young children, and something horrible happens. Their two young children go missing, and until they are found, no one - both employees and passengers - can leave the ship. This creates a lot of ill feeling on the ship as it is hard on both the ship's employees who are supposed to work shifts, and for the passengers, around 2500 people. All of the off-ship activities are cancelled as no one can leave the ship until the two girls are found so there are a lot of bored, resentful passengers. As each day goes by, the danger of a mutiny rises.

Eva Rae Thomas is an FBI profiler who is flown to the ship to investigate. The FBI began background checks on everyone on board, but that can also be slow. Eva must interview the parents, the other passengers, and the employees, while they are waiting to find the children, find the bodies, or receive ransom notes. The ship was searched from top to bottom, and also the surrounding sea in case one or both of the sisters fell overboard. While this is going on, the parents are blaming each other for their children's disappearance.

There is another mystery going on also. Two siblings, one who works on the ship, and her brother, are two of the other main characters. Her brother has gambling debts that he can't pay to some dangerous people, and is desperate for money. He also gambled while on the ship, and is desperately dodging people he lost money to. But was he desperate enough to be involved in the disappearance of the children?

I enjoyed reading this thriller, and never guessed the outcome. I received a review copy of this book from publisher Buoy Media via NetGalley, and voluntarily read and reviewed it.

Although this is the twelfth book in the series, I had no problems following the plot.

The story unfolds on a cruise ship where ten-year-old Becky is overjoyed about the family vacation with her parents and three-year-old sister, Nicky. Becky didn't have the glorious time she thought she'd be having with her family. The children's parents are behaving oddly, and she wakes to her parents arguing, then both leaving the room.

Eva Rae is called to investigate missing passengers, which entails locking down the ship so no one can leave.

A distraught father soon becomes two distraught parents flinging accusations, a stowaway masquerading a role with nefarious plans to bail themselves out of a tight situation, and passengers with questionable histories all made it difficult to pinpoint the guilty.

I enjoyed this mystery and the twists and turns. I was surprised by the ending.

I received an ARC, and I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.
