Calling Kimberly Brown to the front of the class. Ma’am, you did not have to come for my emotions like that! The Point of Exhale was everything! This book had me in a chokehold for the last 24 hours. I was all over the place. Anger, sadness, fear, happiness, and elation are just some of the emotions I experienced while reading this book. Elise and Safari meet each other at a time when they both needed saving and became each other’s saving grace. My heart broke for both of them for all the trauma and abuse they experienced. I just wanted to hug Safari. Considering what Niko and Jennifer put him through, he could’ve easily gone down a different path. Not that the life Niko gave him was any easier but, the alternative could’ve been so much worse. I loved that, after everything she put him through, Safari was able to forgive his mama and build a healthy relationship with her. Poor Elise. She endured so much pain at the hands of her husband but, she found the strength to escape her house of horror to give her babies a better life. While they didn’t make the best first impression when they met, there was something about Elise that made Safari just want to protect her and the kids. And, protect her he did. This man became her savior and her fiercest protector. At the same time, Elise became the peace that Safari had been searching for. These two were everything the other didn’t know they needed. If there were ever a couple deserving of a HEA, it’s Elise and Safari. The Point of Exhale was a beautifully written story. The subject matter (domestic violence, rape, addiction) will definitely trigger some folks but, it’s so worth the read.

I love this story….there were a few inconsistencies….However, it really was a good story of Learning to love, trust and forgive….this is my second time reading it…this time I listened to the audiobook….unfortunately, the narration didn’t enhance the story for me….and fortunately my first encounter was me reading it for myself….

Kimberlyyyyy. You're 2 for 2 right now. Loving it. Loving the writing, loving the love, loving the relatability.

Rhythms Blue's had me in a chokehold, and I'm not sad to say that I do indeed plan to read any book that I can get my hands on that you've written.

Thank you black authors.

Kimberly ain’t missing no shots when it comes to her pen game! Safari and Elise were everything! Both escaping abusive relationships and finding each other at just the right time, providing the Solace that they never thought possible.

Elise was in a 12 year abusive relationship and after being hit for the last time, takes her kids and dips. Not quite sure how things would come together she meets Safari at a time when her situation reached a new low.

Safari’s abuse was at the hands of his parents and while not physical, they definitely beat him up mentally at every twist and turn. Like Elise he also wanted out and was ready to risk it all to have peace of mind.

Niko and Marshall were two peas in a triflin pod! Just trash!

Althea was heaven sent and I’m glad she was able to keep Niko in line for the sake of Safari!

I loved Naaz and Travis! Naaz was so genuine with how she embraced Elise and I hope their bond remained in tact.

My heart went out to Jenn. Her early childhood trauma was terrible and helped me better empathize with why she did what she did.

Imani and O’Neal!!! They were the best! The way O’Neal protected his mama and sister was everything and little miss talk a lot added a refreshing element to the story! I thoroughly enjoyed Safari and Elise’ road to HEA! 🥰🥰🥰

Miss Kimberly, you have done it again! Am I surprised? Of course not, you always knock it out of the park! This read had a bit of everything, and put me in an emotional whirlwind! Elise! The man of her dreams, quickly turned into a stranger with constant violence on the brain! The loving caresses that were the norm, became hits, slaps and punches! That damn Marshall was evil personified! Just so damn mean, I wanted to put a hit out on him myself! 🤬 Ughhh…… Elise knew she had to save herself and her children before it was too late! No real plans, just pure determination to survive, so she ran!
Safari! Oh, my goodness did he touch my heart! ❤ This man had endured so much in his short lifetime, and could still hold his head high! I was teary after learning what he had to endure while living with Jennifer! Then to find out how he and Niko connected was just heartbreaking! 💔 Although Niko rescued him from one hell, he replaced it with a hell wrapped in bows and shiny paper! Enticing and prettier, but still hell! I sooooo despised Niko, and his sense of entitlement! He behaved as it he owned Safari, and that he would forever be in his debt! Grrrrrr……
Safari and Elise’s initial meeting was not pretty, but impactful! Elise thought, this man is rude and abrasive, he was so kind to Imani. Safari knew he had to help Imani, due to his ever-present reminders of abandonment! However, after parting Safari could not get Elise and the children out of his mind. For some reason he had a need to see about her, and make sure she was good.
They quickly formed a tight bond, with Safari becoming her strength and protection! He did whatever she needed, no questions asked and gave her children comfort. Elise calmed Safari’s spirit, and her mere presence became the peace he has always needed. Those haters Niko and Marshall tried to disrupt their new life, but Safari handled that like a G! Nothing and no one could come between he and Elise, while there was breath left in his body! I loved how Safari was able to dig deep and forgive Jennifer for all of her wrongdoings; by letting her back into his life! Just beautiful! 👍👍👍

Bullseye

Mrs. Brown has not missed, she has come into this literary game to leave her mark. She has hit the bullseye every time. This is one of those books that takes you threw every emotion you can think of. You go from sad, angry, scared, and happy to breathing a sigh of relief. Elise and Safari go through the wringer to become one. Elise's husband was the culprit that started the wheels turning. His physical abuse towards Elise was inexhaustible and the verbal abuse towards the kids was plain uncalled for. I still trying to figure out his reasoning for all the abuse however I believe it boiled down to him being a narcissist. It's painful to say but Safari also experienced abuse from his "parents." Niko was the father no one wants as a role model. Yes, Safari was off the streets with his drug-addict mother however the life he was taught was horrific. Safari was a "grown" man by the age of fourteen. Niko wanted to control his kids, especially Safari because he had more "heart" than his siblings. It is potent when you read just how much power, greed, and the love of money control a person. I thought it was ironic that Niko thought he had the reigns but Mrs. Althea was the real queen of the castle. She shut down all moves that she did not approve of. She was also the mother that Safari needed in his life during his vital years.

Mrs. Brown, take a bow you did this! This book is straight fire. 🔥 The way that Elise and Safari found each other was genius. She had to build her courage to finally walk away with her kids in tow. His upbringing and the businesses he owned put him on the pathway of love. Miss Imani was the link to connect them both. Speaking of Imani I absolutely loved her personality. She was quite inquisitive for a five-year-old. My favorite part was when she told her mom that Safari was, 'too old she can have him." 🤣 It was a few sighs of relief but one that I really liked was Jennifer's recovery. It was great to finally read her beat that beast of addiction after so many years of battling it. It was sad to read how she got to the point. 😔 I also love the fact Elise got to reunite with her family. Elise and Safari both got to start over with a clean slate. They couldn't change their past but they can create the future they desired.

This is another must-read. If you are looking for a hero, book bae, or just bae Safari is your man. The leaps and bounds he took to protect Elise and her kids were admirable. If by any chance you have not had the opportunity to indulge in a Mrs. Kimberly Brown book here is your chance. You will NOT be disappointed by any means.

*Another one*
Like I've said before, KB is a beast. Totes read this book without even reading the synopsis.
This story came to a nice, beautiful circle. Both Safari and Elise were absolutely broken. The trauma was REAL…on both sides. But they needed each other to heal. My goodness. Elise was a fighter, a survivor, a loving, caring momma. She was strong and so resilient. Safari too was a fighter. Both literally and figuratively. His life was a terrible cycle of a domino effect. But he wanted better.
This story was both slow and fast at the same time…(it's a good thing). It felt like it had 2 climaxes. One in the beginning of the story and one at the end. One thing I love in my books is a transition from either friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, or whatever else to lovers. So, Safari was not looking for love when he met Elise. He met her and took it upon himself to be her protector. And boy did he protect her. Her knight in shining armor. So the transition from being her protector to lovers was so smooth. When Safari fell in love with Elise, he was almost unrecognizable. He was a different person…in a good way. He was madly, Head Over Heels, passionately in love with Elise. It was beautiful to see somebody like him being in love and seeing that side of him, to see him exercise those feelings and emotions with Elise and her kids. Loved, loved it. And like always, the love scenes were amazing.
Overall, I love the story. One thing I will say, there are a few spelling errors which I didn't care for. It was surprising because this is the first time I've encountered that in any of KB's books and I think I've read everything in her catalog so far. But I definitely recommend this book.

Going through hell to get to heaven.

It opens to Elise, a married mother of two whose husband is abusive and just the devil's crack. This man has alienated this woman from her family, he's condescending, he can't keep his hands to himself, and even his children who are 13 and 5 despise him because they know what he's doing to their mom. Sis has had it! She does something crazy, packs up her kids with the bare minimum and flees like adios!

Next, there's Safari...whew there's A LOT of unpacking here. Ex-D-boy, turned hitta, sold for his mom's drug debts to Niko, AKA "we done when I say we done." Y'all my heart hurt for Safari because 20 years later his mom is still on the streets injesting poison and he's still looking after her, after all he's endured because of her decisions. Safari is smart, he has lucrative legit businesses and he just wants out! When he meets Elise and her children O'neal and Imani it's OVER. This woman and her children have him feeling things he's never felt and wanting a life he never imagined for himself. Elise doesn't make it easy because a woman that's been in her situation can't, but she calls him when something happens and he comes running.

Through vindictive fathers, strung out mothers, crazy husbands, leaving the game, and a budding relationship...these two go through it to get to a HEA. Plus, he buys roses - and a "rose" and knows just how to use it!😜

“Let me in, Elise…” he whispered against my lips. “Let me know you, baby. All of you.” He pulled away, looking down at me with sincere eyes. “I’m afraid.” “I wouldn’t hurt you. I wouldn’t hurt your children. You being here… I feel myself changing. I feel myself wanting to change. You’re making me a better person, and you don’t even know it.” 😩🥰

If I could give a million stars I would. This story was so well written and had me engaged from the first page. Safari and Elise went through everything in this book and it just brought them closer. I loved how slowly but surely Elise and her kids melted Safari’s cold heart. The ending was chef kiss!! They all got the HEA they deserved.

Read the trigger warnings in the beginning! This was a heavy story and starts like that, but it was worth getting through Elise and Safari’s pain to see them get to peace.

I just wanna say, this story made sense and I appreciate that! The continuity of the story line and the cleanliness of the details with Safari’s lifestyle. He wasn’t offing people at the supermarket lol.

Elise was a brave woman and from the first chapter, I had nothing but respect for her and I’m glad she came across Safari and finally got to a place where she and her kids could feel safe. She really deserved that.

Safari, my heart hurt for him. Luke the fact that he could still get up in the morning was a miracle. He had been through it and I liked that his character still carried softness within him that he was able to share with Elise, O’Neal, and Imani.

Whewwwww 🔥🔥🔥

Safariiiiiii is baeeeeeeee 🥰🥰🥰

Eliseee endured a lot from the hands of someone who’s supposed to love and protect her. Some women in DV situations never has the will to leave and to know she did for the sake of the kids and herself made me root for her so much more.

Imani was soo cute and O’Neal was such a strong young man who protected his mom and sister to no end. The bond that Safari forged with the kids was beautiful and they had him wrapped right around their fingers.

Elise and Safari started out rough but eventually their relationship turned into everything that their heart desired and needed.

I highly enjoyed this book so much and I highly recommend this book 📚

One was trying to get away from an abusive husband with her two kids while the other wanted to leave the game and get out under the hands of his boss aka his father.
This was a good book. I’m happy Elise got her happy ending and Safari was able to leave the family business and mend fences with the woman that sold him at 8 years old for a hit.

Safari had demons from his past and Elise ran away from an abusive but when they crossed paths, it became evident that they were soulmates and made for each other other. I couldn't stand Marshall and Niko. I loved, loved, loved Safari and Elise together and the children especially Imani. Despite some of the heavy issues addressed in the book, this was an enjoyable book to read.

Please check your trigger warnings before starting this book. The beginning is very heavy. I would like to say I loved the love story portion of the book, and the MMC is top-tier. I would’ve liked to have more of their final story in the epilogue, but that’s just me.

Amazing book indeed 🥰

This was an amazing story, well written, keeps you engaged from beginning till the end this is a instant click for sure!

My heart went out to both Safari and Elise, they both had to live with all that hurt and pain but they came together and helped each other heal. It was great to see Safaris relationship with his mother heal and Elisa got connected back with her family and that her kids also got their own HEA and was able to see their mother getting loved how she is supposed too. Her ex-husband was so evil but he got his karma back for sure. That Niko wasn’t s***, like how you try to hold someone hostage like that. My favorite was that bet between Trav and Imani 🤣🤣🤣

Elise and Safari took me through so many emotions, yet the one it ended on, Happiness, was the best.

I wanted to jump in this book and haul off on Elise's husband. It's one thing to mistreat and beat your wife, yet the way he talked down to their precious daughter Imani, rubbed me all the wrong way. I thought their son, O'Neal was following in his dad's footsteps with the way he said Imani talked a lot, but I saw it as he was a bit annoyed by it; it was just him being the annoyed big brother that he was. No malice was behind it.

I absolutely loved the bond Elise and O'Neal had. Being that he wanted to protect her from his dad, her husband, made me love him so much. I hope we get an update of this crew, or even a story of him as he's older; maybe I'm college or something.

Elise was a strong woman. Baby, I thought she just left, but to know she burned that house down was giving me Angela Bassett from Waiting to Exhale; LOVED IT😏. She needed peace and although their initial meeting was awkward, I'm glad Safari and her crossed paths. It would start them on a forever journey that neither knew they needed.

I'm so glad Elise family welcomed her back with open arms. Definitely need more on that situation.

Safari was bred from a very early age to be on go. The loyalty he had to his mom, even with her addiction was so heart warming yet sad to read about. Even though he was a horrible man imo, I'm glad Niko took him in. I loathe that he started Safari off the way he did, yet things probably wouldn't have ended so good for Elise had he not had that monster in him. I'm glad he let loose on not only her ex, but his dad Niko too. He had no right treating Elise the way he did, yet I bet with the way his wife Althea threatened to leave, he'd be leaving Elise and Safari alone for good.

I'm so glad Jennifer got herself together. I know she'll be such a great grandma and mom to Safari and his kids.

Although they could've let him be, I'm so glad Althea and Travis kept a relationship with Safari. He needed his own family just as much as Elise did.

This was such a great story. I expect nothing less from this writing genius.

Great read. Highly recommend.

Free To Be Loved!!

Marshall made my a** ache. Wasn't nothing Elise could do right in his eyes. It's bad when his own family hated him. Jenn did what she thought was the best for Safari by giving him to that no good Niko. Niko was training him to follow in his footsteps, to be ruthless and not care about anybody expect for the almighty dollar. Safari was thinking about his life and about him having his own family but he had to get from under his Niko thumb. Same goes for Elise, but when O'Neal bucked up his sperm donor. O'Neal was protecting his mama.Elise got everything she wanted from Marshall. His baby mama is spiteful and something else, she wanted more money. Mrs. Althea wasn't going for Niko hurting or killing her son because that's what she viewed him as. Just to think all this got started by Imani getting lost in the store. I'm happy Elise reconnected with her family.Safari proposed to Elise in front of her family. I'm happy. They went through h@££ to get to heaven

Loved this book.. Elise deserved to be loved and treated right. I love how well behaved her kids are and they deserved to be loved and in a safe environment. I felt bad for Safari, he just wanted some peace between Jenn & that damn Niko he was at war with himself. I’m glad he beat the shit out of Marshall, he deserved it. I’m glad Elise was able to go back home and be with her family. I was happy Safari was able to get from under Niko, he was not a nice man.. His wife told him off and meant it. I was glad that Jenn was able to get help. Yay! Every one got a new start and a happy ending.

Oh My Goodness

I loved this. Marshall was a jerk, I am glad he got what he deserved. Not sure what to say about Niko. He was a bully. He wanted everything to go his way. Loved the hero and the heroine. They were two troubled souls that needed each other in order to heal. So happy Jennifer got her life together. This book touch on domestic violence, drug addiction, and murder. Kudos to the author. 👏👏👏👏. FANTASTIC
