With its colorful art and engaging text, "Dinosaur More!" is the ideal book for kids who just can't get enough of these popular prehistoric creatures. Written and illustrated by the best-selling team of Henrietta and Paul Stickland, and including fabulous images from London's Natural History Museum, it's the perfect mixture of fact and fun. Each visually appealing spread provides an introduction to a particular species of dino, and includes: - Interesting information about its background- A labeled picture pointing out important physical features- A guide to pronouncing the dinosaur's name- Circled sidebars about its diet and defense - A chart comparing the dinosaur size to that of a human- An icon containing its weight
You can't like every book, even if it's about something as cool as dinosaurs. The overly stylized cartoon dinosaurs were too silly for me. Even my 3 year old was annoyed at the inaccuracies of the illustrations. He argued that Tyrannosaurus really should have 2 fingers on each hand. For a book that is supposed to be filled with facts, the dino nicknames were confusing too. We are still trying to figure out why Apatosaurus might be slimy and a Iguanadon might be clean. This one was a one time only read and is headed back to the library.
Dinosaur More! is full of fun dinosaur facts about a variety of types of dinosaurs. The colorful illustrations are attractive to children and keep them turning the pages to learn more about each kind of dinosaur.
This is an excellent science book for a school library, a classroom library or to have at home for your child to enjoy.
