Follow Kyree and Braelynn on their journey of love. Since the day their spirits collided, there was an inkling that they were meant to be. But love rarely makes its home on Easy Street.
Welcome to Kay Shanee's Reading Korner Kay is forty something wife and mother, born and raised in the Midwest. During the day, she is a high school teacher. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite pastime is reading and writing romance novels about the dopeness of BLACK LOVE.
Since The Day We Met was such a good book. I was rooting for Braelynn and Kyree from the moment they met in the hotel lobby. But, I didn’t need to root for them because these two were hot for each other. Kyree sees Braelynn across the lobby and he’s instantly smitten with her. He convinces her to sit with him for drinks and conversation. During their conversation, Braelynn and Kyree find out they have a lot in common. Not only are both of them certified mechanics but, they’re also in relationships with unsupportive partners. After some harmless flirting, they give into their attraction to one another and agree it’s only for one night. Fast forward a year later, the stars align for Braelynn and Kyree. Now that they’ve broken up with their significant others, her sister and BFF and his brothers come up with a scheme to get them back together. Oh, but their reunion is not without drama. Both of their exes refuse to acknowledge the demise of their former relationships and do everything they can to break-up Braelynn and Kyree up. From fake pregnancies to petty backstabbing, these two have to fight for their HEA but, they weather the storm and they got to it. Since The Day We Met will tug at your heartstrings. It was such a sweet romance. This was my first book by Kay Shanee and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I look forward to reading more from her. Now, let me hop on over to Easy To Love to see what Myla and Kolby got going on.
Since the Day we Met is a story about two car mechanics who collide one night in Seattle and don't run into each other for a whole year after that.
Both of them have partners who don't support their business endeavours, Kyree with his girlfriend Leah, and Braelynn with her boyfriend Samuel (but don't call him Sam, or else he'll get mad).
When they finally meet again, they're single, and not quite ready to mingle, but this type of love and attraction happens once in a lifetime and neither is ready to let it pass on by.
I'm normally not huge on the cheating trope, but in this case I can move past it. Leah was terrible and Samuel even worse, so in a way it was justice working when they got cheated on.
One of my favourite parts was when Braelynn grabbed that bat, I was cheering for her to give Sam what was coming and she did! Shame he was too stupid to take the hint and leave her alone that time.
My second favourite part is Stella! She's the funniest character in the book, and I just love the comments she made while she and Braelynn were doing the dishes.
Apart from Stella, I love that both Braelyn and Kyree had supportive family members and friends, and I can't wait to get to their stories too.
OH, and the miscommunication wasn't bad? It had a minimal part to play in the story, and while I would've preferred zero miscommunication, it didn't bug me, it was resolved quickly.
This was sooo cute, I love the instant connection between Braelynn & Kyree….you could actually feel the connection between the two and I was definitely cheering for them….I’m looking forward to seeing what happens between Kamden & Jaelynn and Kolby & Myla….This was such a cute story.
Since the Day We Met by Kay Shanee is about auto mechanic Kyree Ross and lingerie boutique owner Braelynn Waters. When Kyree and Braelynn meet it’s instant chemistry not even the knowledge of their significant others can stop them from ceasing their moment. A year later, the stars align and it is their time to be together. Braelynn and Kyree face many obstacles but their love endures. The friendships, sisterhood and brotherhood were an added bonus. I hope Myla and Jaelynn get their own stories.
Breaslynn x Kyree **May contain spoilers** This is not what I expected out of this book. One thing I realize the author does in her stories is that she has her characters move so fast. A little too fast in my opinion. However, she always manages to do something completely different than what I expect. Most of the events in the book I didn't expect. I love that!! I was little iffy about the way the relationship started between Kyree and Breaslynn. It literally started on infidelity. Yes, I understand the love aspect of it, but it's still infidelity... on both part. So I'm not too sure how I feel about that. Some parts of the story was a bit far fetched and incomplete IMO. So overall, I didn't necessarily hate this book, but I also didn't love it. 3.3⭐️
Ma'am, you really know how to write a love story! I so adore the instalove ones especially. Kyree walked up to Braelynn like a boss, and was so smooth with it; she couldn't help but get caught up. Their connection was electric, right from the beginning; and you knew they were going to have a special love. But, your stories never lack the drama either! Whew, where they find these folks at? Nobody could see all that crazy? So glad that all the misunderstandings were cleared up, because this is a love that needed to grow and thrive! Now, I hope this will be a series as we need Jaelynn, and Myla's stories. Another great story of black love! 😃 👍👍👍
I loved this book love at first sight is something I always loved reading about I’m glad it shows the ups and downs with real relationships. I love being able to connect with the characters and how it was fictional story but based off of stuff that happens in real life. You did a great job can’t wait to read more.
Loved Kyree and Braelynn story with just enough drama to keep me entertained but sweet enough to make me say awww. Kyree was definitely apart of the BDE club he didn’t let nothing or no one stop him from being with Brae. Since the day they met it was a instant connection, the couple story tugged at my heart strings. I can’t wait to read the next installment of the series.
Great book!!! One of my favorite authors. No one does love at first sight like Kay Shanee. Braelynn and Kyree were meant for each other. I'm glad they got rid of toxic relationships and reunited. Another great read.
This is probably the best love at first sight book I’ve ever read. Fate definitely put these 2 together along with loved ones who had their best interests at heart. I love the petty in Brae when she was confronted by her ex and Kyree’s ex 😂 Kyree was such a take charge man. I love it!
This was a fast read for me. It had sll the needed elements for me to enjoy, great cover, great editing, a dope storyline and relatable characters. I am glad I one clicked.
This was a love at first sight love story between Braelynn and Kyree and I enjoyed it so much. One night together changed everything between the two and their connection with cars made their bond stronger. They face roadblocks but nothing they couldn’t handle. I definitely recommend
Kyree, whew child, the love this man showed was just as amazing as one could imagine. Dreams actually come true if you believe. I believed this story... It was so good.
3.75 ⭐️This book took me through it 😭. If merriam webster had a picture of messy, it’d be of this book. There was truly so much going on. No one is truly in therapy. No one is truly in their right state of mind. I had a time but I have questions (a lot of them actually 😮💨).
I enjoyed Braelynn and Kyree's story but I really didn't feel the chemistry between them when they first met. I felt like they had a connection but not a strong connection that would lead to love at first sight. I think they were more intrigued with each other. Later on as the story progressed the chemistry between them started to develop more as they started to get to know each other.
There was two times where I thought they both acted a little immature. I can understand why they both reacted the way they did but given their ages I felt they could have handled it differently. Kyree noticed his mistake and came back to Braelynn once he cooled off. Braelynn didn’t even think before she acted and Kyree had to beg just for her to hear him out. If this happened to me I would have thought about it before I reacted but I know everyone reacts differently when situations like this happen.
I finished this book in 2 days and it held my attention from beginning until end. I felt like I was there with them as they experienced the ups and downs of navigating a new long distance relationship, getting to know each other along with added drama from their ex's.
I'm giving this book 4 stars and I would recommend it. It shows that if it's meant to be it will happen no matter the distance or the drama.
Braelynn & Kyree meet one night at a hotel in Seattle. He's in town for an automotive convention & she's there for a wedding. He spots her instantly & his heart stops. Next thing you know they're sharing a night of passion. Fast forward 365 days later & they're reunited. A lot of their circumstances are different, but the one constant is there feelings.
I legit could not stop smiling. I needed the smart comments from Jae & Kam. I needed Myla & Kolby little breadcrumbs of flirting. I could NOT get enough of Stella Ross 😂😂 my heart never felt so full. Brae & Ky were made for each other. They supported each other to the fullest & always made sure the other one was good. They had some communication issues, but that was just fear from their last relationship spilling over into what they were building. Of course I hated the unnecessary ass drama of Leah & Samuel. I wish those two would have gotten together & just made each other miserable. I'm so ready to dive into Myla & Kolby 😍
Kyree and Braelynn shared something electric from their one night stand that neither could shake. After sometime, they reunite, something planned by his brothers and her sister and best friend and it was non stop from there.
Kyree, while very much unattached to his relationship, finally let's his girlfriend of two years, Leah, go. She's always trying to change him and doesn't support his dreams. Little does he know, he's not the only one. While Leah is trying to pin her unborn baby on him, he's moved on or trying to, with Brae. Leah had some deeply rooted issues to do what she did to him. Just sad😒. Either way, once that situation was taken care of, Kyree was set on ensuring Braelynn knew she was his one and only.
Braelynn wanted it to work with her ex, Samuel, yet all he wanted was for her to be barefoot and pregnant, which didn't align with her plans of being a female mechanic. She wanted to honor her dad by buying the shop her dad worked in his whole life, yet she later finds out her ex bought it and had it demolished. He was never any good for Brae and I'm glad she left and never looked back.
Although I get that things were new between her and Kyree, when it came to his ex sending those photos, she should've let him explain. Either way they worked it out and are letting their love strengthen them.
This was my intro to the Ross brothers and I was so eager to know about this dynamic group of me.
This was my first book from this author, and I liked it. It is very Insta-Love, and though I like insta-love, this moved a little faster for me compared to the other books I’ve read with this trope. That was something I had to get used to. Also, their relationship started with infidelity on both parts, and yes, their partners weren’t great and I also get the love aspect, but cheating still isn’t my thing.
I enjoyed the progression of their relationship. Though it moved fast, it wasn’t easy. They had some arguments and misunderstanding but they cleared things up. I also loved their families. Kyree’s brothers and Jaelynn were hilarious. I loved seeing how quick Kyree’s family took to Braelynn and welcomed her into their family.
I also thought it was cool that they are both mechanics.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 There is nothing like a bomb love story! This was one of my favorite type of love stories too! I love a good Instalove story! I need friends and family like Kyree and Brae had! I really liked how they had people in both of their corners rooting for them to make it! I’m so glad they were able to deal with every obstacle accordingly!! I don’t want to give away to much of the book but just know it is worth every star I gave! Don’t take my word.. read this book for yourself! This is most definitely one your gonna want to read if you love a good love story like myself! #shangeereads #shangeereadsreview #romance #blackromance #blackromancematters #blacklovematters #romancereadersofinstagram
Kyree and Braelynn story was a whirlwind with their over the top exes. They both went through so many twists and turns with the two people there were originally dating. I was thinking at one point would they ever be a couple without the other stresses. They made it and were very compatible with each other. This was the first book I read about a female mechanic the profession fit her to a tee. It is great to see a couple open a business together.
Once again Mrs. Shane has written this. I am hoping that a book is in the works for the other two brothers. Great read, relax, download and enjoy.
A prime example of love at first sight. Reading this book gave me a giddy feeling that I can’t quite explain. The love these two characters share was mystical, magical, and like a fairytale ♥️😍
2.75⭐️ This is probably one of my most annotated books and not for good reason. I generally like instalove when done well. I’m not opposed to love at first sight. The way this book was written just wasn’t it for me. This was giving lust at first sight. I didn’t really feel a connection between the MCs. There was too much going on and everyone was making dumb decisions. The one time Braelynn made a logical decision based on past experiences, everyone in her life tried to talk her out of it and make her feel guilty. This story just didn’t work for me
Kyree & Brae paths cross at a time where they were questioning their current relationships. However, their ne night of passion ignite the flames that would continue to burn until they were reunited. Go along for this wild adventure to see exactly what happens when Dem Ross Brother’s set their sights on the women of MyLynn’s Bedroom Boutique. Looking forward to see the other brother’s stories.
Ugh!!!! This crazy exes are getting on my nerves. Kyree was very upfront and honest with Brae from day one. She was the same with him. I like how they didn’t wait months before revealing secrets or problems. So what I didn’t like is how Leah was able to get Kyree like that and he sort of let her off too easy. I know he didn’t want her but drugging him? She needed to be taught a lesson. I think it’s hot that they will be working together.
