This novella has put me in such a reading slump that I just cannot not mention it. It took me days to read it and about a month to finally review it. And the thing is, this story wasn't all that bad, technically, but it was just so wattpadish that I couldn't enjoy it.

The story starts with Cassie, a young woman who is waiting in a room for an interview with a popular photographer...Who seems to be very late. So what does she decide to do while waiting? She decides to start cleaning the office and sing because she's Snow White I guess. Who does that? While singing, she gives her own touch to the lyrics and melody. Someone enters the room at that moment and it's not the photographer, but the original singer of the song Cassie is singing, and he likes what he hears. He then asks her to help him work on his newest album as the release date approaches and he's no where near done and satisfied with his songs.

This heroine was such a Mary Sue that I couldn't stand her. Everything she did was perfect, her voice was beautiful and she was SO unaware of her talent. The way Cassie could instantly remix a song and make it much better. The way the pictures she could take were absolutely amazing. How she didn't mind singing in front of a crowd during an open mic but was uncomfortable and nervous while recording in a studio? She also made decisions on her own, didn't communicate, created unnecessary drama and made me roll my eyes every chapter.

As for Ford, he was such an uninteresting hero. I mean, in my notes I literally just put a question mark beside his name. He was a nice guy and was protective, I guess? Also, wtf?

"Didn’t anyone ever tell you that you don't yell around women, asshole?" I growled. "There's always a chance that there was a man in her past who screamed at her."-Ford

It wasn't really an engaging story. I feel like things did happen but they were so insignificant and not thrilling. Everything between these two happened way too quickly. The contract, the recording, the romance, the drama...I just couldn't get into it. The fact the characters got intimate so quickly just makes me think that they would do that with just anyone. I didn't believe in their love nor their chemistry. I personally prefer when there's longing and development between the characters. Also what's up with every chapter ending with corny sentences? Wattpad I tell you:

I had no idea how, but when I stopped trembling, I would find a way to hang out with a rock star.

Every single detail about Cassie drew me in. I already knew that I never wanted to let go.

I already knew that we were destined for something great. Well, it was too soon to know. But I was hoping very hard.

Complete trust. I was sure it was the sound of love beginning.

Most important of all, I was already head over heels in love with her.

And just like that, I realized that I was in love with a rock star.

She was the first person I'd ever loved more than music itself. I hadn't even known that was possible.

I don't usually mind it when a chapter ends in that way, once in a while and for good reasons. But if you use the same trick repeatedly, in the same place or the same way all the time, it gets old and loses its purpose and appeal. It's not as impactful. In this case, it just made it all corny.

Would I recommend this novella? Maybe? 😐️ I really didn't like this novella. It's not even the worst I've ever read but it was so insipid to me. Personally, I didn't like the style.

I loved absolutely everything about this rock star romance!! The characters were fantastic. The story was incredibly sweet and unexpected. The steam was kindle meltingly HOT! The ending was beyond beautiful and better than I could have hoped for! This book is a MUST READ!!

Ford and Cassie are my new favorite couple!! Their meeting was destiny and right from the start he is so sweet and caring. They meet when Ford is supposed to have a photo shoot with the photographer she just started working for. It didn’t go as planned but definitely went the way that it should have. Ford discovers she is musically talented with a beautiful voice. He’s got a new album in the works that’s at a stand still. He asks her to help him fix it and their magic begins. The only problem is that she is incredibly shy so the rock star lifestyle may not be for her. Ford wants to convince her to give it a try but that might be more than she’s ready for. I ADORED these two together and was beyond thrilled with how their story ended.

Loved this story! Cassie was trying to step out of her shy comfort zone by getting a job as a photographers assistant. On her first day her boss doesn’t show up but Ford arrives for his shoot and hears her singing his song. He is in love at first sight. He persuades Cassie to help him with his new album but she’s nervous about both their relationship and her singing. Hot, steamy with amazing chemistry. Ford is kind, caring and attentive to Cassie’s needs. She is his one and he’ll never give up on her. Fabulous story with a wonderful HEA.

Rock My Girl is a well written story that will have you lost in the pages from the start. Cassie took a last-minute photographer assistant job, that would turn her world upside down. Ford was a musician, who came into the studio for a shoot, when he walked in on Cassie singing.

I love this story, the connection between Ford and Cassie is electric. The love and support Ford shows Cassie melts your heart and the passion between them is off the charts.

This is my absolute favourite genre rockstars, bands etc and this is Cassie’s and Ford’s story. Cassie a photographer meets Ford a rockstar to take photos of him he instantly falls for Cassie but Cassie is a shy girl she can’t believe that a gorgeous rockstar would fall for her. I loved this story, the characters and their sizzling 🔥 chemistry they have and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

If you are looking for a quick read this is the author you go to. Her two books I've read so far get to the point quickly with no slow burn. This book was very sweet and the chapters weren't long. I think it took me a total hour and five minutes to read this and I wasn't disappointed. There was growth between the characters and I just loved Ford and Cassie's story.

Intended accidental meet when working a temp job and you have instant chemistry and puttering around music. this is one of those "I don't sing professionally" but you can try it this way laugh lines. Bantering, experiencing new thing, reacquainting back to old school type of feel stories. good read. no cliff.

This is a sweet sorry, i feel like it was missing the build up of the relationship. Almost like Ford saw her and ticked her off the list as “find the one”.

YES. YES. YES. This was such a cute and fun book!!!!! I loved how Ford literally had her in mind every step of the way (except in that one situation) but once he had that realization he was trying to right in! Cassie was also a good face as she grew out of her shell!
