"Your job description is easy. As you learn about Jesus, you teach others what you have learned." ~ R. W. Schambach, You're One in a Million, p. 38.
This book is targeted to the new believer that has just accepted Christ. It gives instructions on what to do if you have accepted Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour.
The following is a basic summary of the instructions you will find in this book, as found on page 41-42:
"1. Read your Bible every day.
2. Pray and worship God daily.
3. Regularly ask God to forgive you of your sins and to help you grow in your faith walk.
4. Find a church home and be active in it.
5. Ask God to baptize you with the Holy Ghost until you speak in tongues. Then pray in tongues every day.
6. Tell others about Jesus. Become a soul winner."
Only point I disagree with is number 5. Although I speak in tongues myself, I do not believe you require to speak in tongues to be filled with the Holy Spirit. I say as Paul said in 1 Corinthians 12:30: "Do all speak in tongues?"
I actually went to a church when I was younger (6 or 7 years old) and they would force you to pray for tongues at the alter. No matter how hard I prayed and asked to speak in tongues, I never received this gift. Only when I was older did I ask God for the gift of tongues and God gave it to me, but it was because I wanted it and no one was forcing me to have it. God does not force things on us. He stands at the door and knocks and we can choose to open the door or leave Him and His great blessings outside. We can choose.
Choose today whom you will serve! (See Joshua 24:15)
