Eighteen winters ago, Red defeated the curse the changed the wolves from normal shifters into bloodthirsty monsters. Everyone of Elder thought it was all done, and Red tried her best to bring the people of Elder back together. But that is all over now. The tree people fear the wolves and the wolves are attacking humans. And Castiel is caught in the middle of it. While Red is doing her best to protect the tree people, Castiel takes it upon himself to protect the wolves, if he can.
The wolves are growing sicker, and Castiel is doing all he can to help, but will it be enough? Can he keep his friends safe?
Born in Leeds, I lived a very normal life until I got bored one day and decided to travel the world. Since then I've worked on a Banana Plantation, cleaned ACDC's dressing room and been a professional clown. I climbed to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and the top of Kilimanjaro. Nowadays you'll find me being a climbing frame for my two young children, working in a school, and renovating my home. Did I also mention I wrote some books? I hope you enjoy them! This story of castiel is one i really love, but when are we going to see what makes him so special? This third installment is a bit slower then I am used to but it fits.
The curse was supposed to be defeated. But now it obviously comes back, bringing fear and distrust in its wake. Castiel, who was a lone wolf (pun intended) all his life, was at least accepted if not welcomed by both the wolves and the tree people; yet now with the curse returning, he is an outcast for both. His private life also does not seem very calm with his friend Nikkan being still mad and driven by jealousy; but now, it seems he will have to solve bigger issues, since no one else seems to care.. As the curse progresses, the story gets a darker hue, yet Castiel's calm and wise personality harbors the whole turbulent story. Being amidst fighting sides, whether we talk about Grace and Nikkan, Red and Micco, or in general humans and shifters, Castiel is the key that could unite them all if they allow him. I like the contrast between his personality and the drama around, making me feel as if I stood next to him in the eye of the storm. Although there were still some parts when I felt the story was lagging, I enjoyed it more than book one and am curious about the next installment.
In the first 44 pages of the story the word sick had been written 28 times and cursed had been used 45 times. Bit excessive I think and gave me the ick. I gave up counting after that. In the first book the sentence 'the wolves were sick and they never get sick' had been written numerous times. I didn't actually need to be told twice yet alone repeatedly. I understood it the first time. It feels like someone else has written these two books compared to sleeping beauty and little mermaid. I don't recall being told the same thing repeatedly or feeling the need to count how many times the same word was used because it's pissing me off reading that word! I won't be reading the next two and shall gather that by the end of book 4 the wolves are still sick and they haven't broken the curse. That the girls have heard about the wolves getting sick and have turned up and asked Reds son who's not sick to join them and the little dragon on their quest to find the witch and hopefully put the world to rights. Will I be keeping a tally of words used twice in a sentence or how many times two are both used in a sentence? We'll soon find out....

Heir of the curse is the second book in Red Hidding Hood by J.A.Armitage and B. Kristin McMichael.
Red have beaten the wolves curse 18 winters ago and its now coming back. More wolves are reverting back to the monsters they once were. Castiel, Red's son try to find a way to stop it but even his mother don't really know what stop it the first time. She's trying more to protect the tree people and Castiel will try to help the wolves and find a way to stop this with the help of Grace and Sera.
Really love it and can't wait to read more. I have received an arc of this book from J.A. Armitage.
This book dives right in to the suspenseful chase from the end of book 1. Things are changing, and not always for the better. The curse is growing, Castiel's friendships are changing too, sometimes in ways he never anticipated. This is not a romance, but a story of friends. There might a romance or two lurking in the background though. In this book, the curse becomes more personal. It ends in another huge reveal, can't wait to read book 3!
The is book 2 in the Red Riding Hood arc, read them in order as they are sequential parts of a serialized story.
Where it took me a while to get into the previous book, this one had me immediately. This one was much better! Suspenseful, full of action, fast-paced, and I’d gotten to know Castiel and the others better, so I cared more. I had accepted everyone for who they were and liked them more now. Castiel for sure, but also Grace. Sera even. Yes, way better: I loved it! It was ‘my eyes are gobbling up the words as fast as they can’ again. All systems go.
Having read the first two books in this series, I can't to read the next book in this group of this Fairy tale. Love the storyline and characters in this Fairy tale. This is a short and quick read and if you haven't kept up with each one of them it's easy to read a month of reading in two days once you get startled. I would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys and what happens next.
The story intensifies with the return of the curse and all that it entails. The characters continue with their struggles, while the Kingdom of Elder is rapidly changing. Looking forward to the next installment
Fantastic 2nd story to this retelling of Red Riding Hood. This book pics up perfectly with where book 1 ends and leads to great character changes and growth. This book leaves us with lots of questions! Definitely ready for book 3! A quick and excellent read!
Heir of the Curse has Red not knowing how she stopped the Curse 18 years ago and Helping The Tree People of Elder more than the Wolves which are converting to the monsters they once were. So Castiel will try to find the cure with the help of Grace and Sera.
This one was sad, in the middle of the series you are at the heart of the story and you feel for a character and your emotions grow with their journey! I need to read what happens next!
Totally love the second book in the series. If you love a great story then this series is for you. Pick up your copy today . You will not be disappointed
Wow. What a roller-coaster of emotions. We have a bit of everything in this book - amazing moments, terrible moments, great characters and annoying characters. The curse is coming, closer than we thought, and Castiel just wants to protect his friends. He's such an amazing character, my favorite so far, alongside with cute Grace. I can't wait to read about what happens next!
