This was interesting, but not particularly useful. It reads like some sort of inspirational book rather than the practical "toolkit" it purports to be. The best part of the book is that it is full of cool profiles of city branding and social initiatives from around the world. There are also some nice quotes to pull on the value of culture and the creative industries to local economies. It was an engaging read, but I'm not sure what to do with the information next.

I anticipated it to be a lil more focused on cultures and communities, how it begins, how it build momentum... subjects like these. It touches on creative manifestations but briefly for each. I really should read it again...

I like his thinking, but found this to be a really hard read.
