He said I was filthy and wicked. He said it would make me pure. I was only five years old...Enslaved by their white foster family, the only love and affection Harmony and her two sisters experienced came from each other. When Harmony attempted to get help nobody believed her...until it was too late. The three little girls were emotionally shattered by the abuse and only Harmony survived to tell this tragic tale. She knew she had to escape or die. This is the incredibly moving true story of a little girl who was betrayed by the people supposed to protect her, and how she finally found somewhere to belong.
What religion, creed, persuasion, gender, is it true?
We are all made equal, humans of all kind
But, individuals, being controlled, majority are Blind
Judging each other, bigoted, racist and cruel
Indoctrinated, linear, dumbed down...A Fool!
Monitored, pigeon holed, judged by our actions
Labelled, given a Know-Ledge, put into factions
All in formation, swimming the right, or rite, way
A caste system, a pawn, a player, a pre-dater, or prey?
So what is a colour? A pigment, a hue, a spectrum of Light, or a Shade?
A rainbow, a prism, or Prison? Diluted, masked, weakened to Fade
Open One's Eye, see the real picture, see the Whole
Ignore the rules, laws, acts, that trap and Control
🐯👍
Bigotry and hate and judgemental egotistical tendencies is not a human condition. Where one is born, educated, influenced as a child has a major impact on one's outlook on life. However, at some point in one's life one will have an epiphany, one will feel one's heart grow heavy, whether it is a case of watching the rhetoric or propaganda on MSM or, whether one has experienced hate, or perpetrated hate and judgements on another, the heart is the centre of one's being and it is the consciousness that shows in one's heart. The heart beats faster and sinks when we see suffering to our fellow humans. We all show remorse and emote. That is true human nature. As people we are all connected but, experience life as an individual. It is the individual that has to change. Look at the person in the mirror. Decide, when one has the epiphany how one can change the reflection inwardly. Beauty is not skin deep. Beauty and kindness is deep, it is suppressed by the Ego. Stop taking countless selfies and trying to be more popular than the next person. When a human is stripped bare, has no wealth, no fame or fortune, it is plain to see that people come together with compassion, no matter how they dress, look, whether they are gay or straight or the colour of their skin. We should, as people, see the real enemy. Like in the Game Of Thrones. Different races and creeds and kingdoms all fighting each other when in fact the real enemy is coming from the cold and dark. When humanity realises that all hate and bigotry is manufactured and manipulated we will finally see through the veil. 🐯👍
I was brought up by loving foster parents, but still carried around that little bit (deep inside) that festers because I was given away. I knew I was lucky, but still the feeling remained. I Thought if I read about other foster kids who had not been with such loving families, then it would alleviate the feelings. Well, there are so many books, I chose this one because the title echoed the part of me that felt the same and the little girl on the cover looked similar to me when I was a child (without the braids).
Nothing prepared me for her story.
Instinctively I knew every word was true and that her story could have been mine.
Deeply sad unfortunately this is a real story. I can never imagine someone could bear this experience as child. It's lovely that she choose to share this experience as book to encourage others to seek for help and tell them it's never late to seek help.
I can't even find the right words to describe the way this book made my heart ache. Never would I have ever imagined in a million years someone could survive this much abuse.
