They are Mythic Grade Artifacts. The greatest weapons of Humankind against the Demon threat looming over them. But the Dukes and Duchesses of the Netherworld won't remain idle. They will do whatever it takes to upheave the Conference of Alyras and steal the Treasures of Alexander.
And while this is happening, Salvos will have to come to grasps with taking care of the newborn Wyverns...
This is Book 8/Volume 5 Part 4 of the Salvos web serial. Cover art is by Fuyu Dust.
As others say, Author seems to forget were here for Salvos not for Side Character A-F.
I think book 7# was far better as it was mostly all Salvos and moved the plot forward as well, even the side characters POV were in scenes with Salvos.
This book? I skipped 60% of it because it was all side character nonsense from their view point doing their own things against Demons, with Salvos not within even hundreds of miles.
Then the Salvos stuff we do get in the first half is all her raising babies...which felt more like a filler episode of a TV show than something serious to put in a book as the main character's focus.
So the last 40% of actual Salvos fighting or doing stuff? Good but predictable, her normal Pride thing making her take forever in a fight and drag it out to play with her food instead of just killing them even when others are suffering in other battles. Instead of killing in one strike which she could do, she'll take forever while everyone else is dying just to have fun.
Totally Salvos but it feels more like book 2 Salvos rather than book 6 Salvos back when she learnt to emphasis with others and grew. Maturing Salvos should have not wanted her Princess friend to lose subjects or something ridiculous like that. Or just knew how upset others would be if she played around instead of rushed to kill everyone as fast as possible.
So honestly I'd say skip this book entirely. Nothing important happens. It takes course over like 2-3 days. Book 9 Surely will cover what happened by context, as there is only like one or two big events in this book and not all that important.
Feel like giving up on the series (it's hard to tell if the below should be considered spoilers. It covers a substantial amount of the book, but it's not at all related to the main plot so it doesn't feel like any surprise is spoiled).
A lot of the book details Salvos getting distracted from the main plot; she just doesn't care about world events. The clashes between humans and demons have escalated into war, hundreds of thousands are dead, the nexus may be collapsing but Salvos decides to leave and go off to handle some trivial crap. She .
Near the end, Salvos finally decides to participate in world events again, but she's so much stronger than everyone else that nothing presents any trouble so it's hard for me to really care about what she's doing. She just shows up and casually turns everyone to paste after everyone else has failed.
I was kind of bored and disappointed for the book’s first third. Salvos’s attention to the babies didn’t really interest me that much and I didn’t really care that much about Daniel or Edithe’s front at the beginning. When the elite humans plot to surprise attack the demon assassins, I started to get interested and when Salvos comes back from the beastlands. She really kicks ass better than any previous book during the second half. Salvos lives up to her own great name and opinion of herself by the end of the volume. I love Salvos and all her companions and am really excited for Volume 9!
Undoubtedly another great addition to the series, with great energy throughout the book, and fantastic forward momentum. Everyone was kept busy, on the precipice of danger and salvation, just waiting to fall into the abyss of death. Absolutely loved the action, and the addition of artwork throughout the story was highly enjoyable as well. As I said previously, if you’ve enjoyed the previous books, you will undoubtedly enjoy this one.
The author seems to have lost sight of the fact that we are here for Salvos. Instead we get more and more POVs from characters I'm not that interested in. Then Salvos shows up at the end and overpowers everyone to the point that there are effectively no stakes.
Belzu is still kicking u say I say it False. Clearly just a faker or maybe not you'll never know, except dude like me who've read the book. Imma go rip asz fumigation a region yk
Loved it. Felt short but I didn't check the length. Could be short or could have just enjoyed it so much it felt short! Either way I'm keeping an eye out for #9. Fair warning not a heck of a lot of development in the main story here but the characters do grow a bit.
The authors seem excited about this book and shows interest, I really enjoyed this book awesome action scenes and I like how you try to show with illustrations awesome
Loved Salvos’ character progression at the end. Makes me excited to read the next book to find out how she pursues divinity and bonds with the treasures of Alexander.
Would have given it 5* but I hate stories with tons of different POVs.
