This is the best picture book I’ve read this year! Virgina is an inspiration! This book is not just about a 102 year old lady who is still lobstering- it’s a story about how she didn’t settle for a “woman’s job” and became a lobster lady instead. Everyone needs to read this and celebrate Virgina!

This is a book that my son did not want to take down from his hands...while it's a bout an old lady!
When people thought of an old lady, we would immediately think of "The Old Lady Who Ate a Fly" or books of this sorts, but this story is even more intriguing.
Ginny lives in Maine throughout her life, and it is her passion and upbringing that makes her a lobster lady. While there are not many horrifying or surprising events, her being there across the course of time is what captivates children.
The binding of the book is simple, but the story and the pictures are sweet and moving.

Interesting Story. The book is targeted at children; however. I enjoyed the story. The illustrations are very colorful. Adds panache to the story. The lobster lady expressed advice through her story that readers should contemplate:" You have to keep moving or you will end up in a wheel chair" and that when you stop doing what you love, that's when you get old.

Such a good book on a local fisherwoman from Maine. Lobster is huge in Maine, and this is such a powerful book to follow your dreams and to do what you love to do. She wants to catch Lobster and this is her passion. She's going to keep doing it until she dies. Her words not mine.

A lyrical and lovely book about an incredible woman who has spent so much of her life on boats and lobstering. It's an interesting read, beautifully written. The soft, pastel art invites readers to explore Virginia's life and world.

Lovely book with beautiful, colorful, full page illustrations! A delightful story about this hardworking Maine woman. I am purchasing extra copies as gifts, as well as donating to our local school and library. Thank you for sharing her amazing story with us!
