October 11, 2020Satisfying conclusion with further humour and danger
The epic quest to save the player monsters continues, with Jace continuing to display his trademark blend of strategy, bravery and naivety in-game. Meanwhile IRL, answers to his and Charlena's most burning questions are sought and found. This book concludes the storyline sufficiently to prevent cliffhanger cramps, yet is left open ended enough for further adventuring should the author choose 🙂. I certainly would be up for more!

Real world getting in the way
I am disappointed as the real world situation driving the insertion overly distracts from the game story to the point where the game does not matter. Minimal level progression and only token crafting component. A number of typo/word errors that were particularly noticeable in the third quarter of the book. On the plus side, I enjoyed the relationship tension and the moral quandary introduced about the MC’s identity.

Slow
This drags a bit much for me. No real changes from book 1. Progression is glacial for both the characters and the plot.
Some typos, more than I can tolerate with the slow pace.

Story is still good, characters are so so.
So the characters have improved but still have issues. The focus given to certain things does not match the life and death story arc. This destroys the immersion into what could be a very well done story line.

Very entertaining read
