Could the matchmakers be wrong?

Sadie Powers has crushed on her brother’s best friend for years, but when the Piece Makers, Sweet Water’s own quilting and matchmaking group, ask her to help them match him up with the new single mom in town, she just wants the man she’s loved for years to be happy, even if that’s with someone else.

When rancher and livestock auction owner, Colman Baldwin is asked to giving riding lessons to the son of the new single mom in town, he doesn’t hesitate to make time in his schedule to help out. That’s what small towns are for. He doesn’t realize he’s being set up. Maybe that’s why he’s falling for the wrong woman.

Soon, everyone in Sweet Water has a finger in the pie and everyone is holding their breath to see if the Piece Makers will have another successful match, of if a dark horse will ride in and steal the potential groom away.

They know what is important to put first.
It is always such a pleasure to read one of Jessie Gussman's stories. I really enjoyed this one. The Piece Makers are a trip but they have help this time by other matchmakers. Sadie and Coleman were awesome characters I liked Sadie a lot. The story was so charming and well done. If you are looking for a really good faith based story then this is the one to get. It is a wonderful addition to a great series. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Sadie's best friend and college roommate Shasta is now married to a man 12 years her senior, Sadie's big brother Nolt. Now, as far as Shasta is concerned, it's Sadie's turn with Nolt's best friend Coleman, also 12 years their senior. But the Piece Makers seem determined to match Coleman with a woman his own age, the owner of the used book store/bakery and mother to a 12 year old boy, but there is a problem. Peyton is not interested in men. Not now, likely not ever, though she wouldn't rule it out completely. Right now, she's focused on making her business a success, and entrepreneurship is hard work.
But the ladies are so determined that they enlist Peyton's best friend Sadie to help match her up with Coleman - and she agrees, wanting what is best for Coleman and her friend, even if it isn't her. But she does add a few things to their plans, which include Coleman's giving horseback riding lessons to Owen, Peyton's 12 year old son, a sober young man wise beyond his years, who acts much older than he is.
Coleman's paperwork is an absolute mess, and Sadie has organized their family business's papers in a simplified system that alloww her brothers to find what they need if she's unavailable. Nolt offers her skills to Coleman based on their mutual decision of what hours they can work out and how much she can do with her own responsibilities. On the first day, though, besides a storm, one of the cows is calving and having trouble. Sadie obeys all Coleman's commands, as they work together to help save the calf. After the job is done, they're soaked with perspiration, rain, amniotic fluid, and overjoyed that the calf survived, and for the first time, they kiss. Sure Coleman will later deny any significance except the celebratory nature of the kiss, she lays little importance on it before he can do so. But has she misread the signals? As she goes home for a shower and a change, she wonders briefly, but goes on over the next days of her regular duties, only finally telling Shasta one day when Shasta stops by.
Has Sadie doomed any possible relationship with Coleman, and driven him to Peytin's arms? Or back to bachelorhood? Will Peyton start to show an interest? What were the Piece Makers really about? Why does Coleman have a ring on a chain around his neck that he refusues to discuss with his sisters? Will they ever know? What secret did Peyton divulge to Coleman and Sadie?
A well put together story with interesting twist and turns that also give the reader insights into the 24/7 and capricious nature of farming, the expense it entails, the skills, the manual labor, the long hours that I would hope would make the most hard core city girl reading these stories want to get on her knees and thank God for the work that goes into the food on their plates, and the workers who endure harsh conditions - from triple digit summer temperatures to sub-zero winter ones, where each season has its work and its rhythms that tie the people to the land.

Love this fun story as the matchmakers are at it again but this time they may have planned the wrong match. After the success of their last match the Piece Makes have decided on their next couple to pair up. When Shasta asked them to make a match for her friend Sadie Powers, with her long time crush Colman Baldwin they gave her a negative answer. They already had plans for Colman with the new single mom who owned the bookstore. But Shasta decides to take them on and try to get her best friend, Sadie and Colman together. So what if he is older than her and being the long time friend of Sadie's brother Nolt, he thinks of her as a kid.

Sadie Powers is the youngest of seven and the only girl. She had a crush on Colman for years and knows he still thinks of her as Nolt's little sister. When the Piece Makers ask her to help match him with the new single mom Peyton Sinclair, her heart is crushed. She decides to go along with them because she wants him to be happy even if she doesn't get to be with him. She decides to bring them together by suggesting that Colman give Peyton's son riding lessons. That plan falls apart when Peyton cannot bring him to the lessons asking Sadie to drive him

I was so happy to see Colman Baldwin get his story. He's been in some of the other books and is the older brother of a bunch of sisters. After the death of his father, he has been helping to run the livestock auction as well as his own ranch. He's a busy guy and hasn't had time for romance but he does make time to give a boy some riding lessons. He has no idea that he is the focus of the Piece Makers latest match but when Sadie comes out to his ranch, he suddenly sees her in a very different light.

Will the Piece Makers succeed in bringing together Colman and Peyton or will Shasta's plans to throw Colman and Sadie together make the perfect match?

I received a copy of this book from the author and this is my honest unbiased review.

Reading this book left me with a big smile on my face. It is another well written, sweet and clean romance with characters that are relatable and fascinating. The Piece Makers are matchmaking again and this time they have to be just a tad bit sneaky or maybe I should say clever. They definitely know the two people they want to match very well and though this story is a bit twisty, their plans do work exceedingly well. Sadie and Coleman may seem unsuited to each other at first glance, but in fact they complement each other very well. Coleman may be twelve yeas older, rather serious and set in his ways, but he has a big heart and is willing to help whenever the need arises. Sadie may be younger, more cheerful and light-hearted, but she also loves to help others and has a huge, warm heart. Her heart has belonged to Coleman for over a decade, but he has never seen her as anything other than his best friend’s kid sister. Her love is selfless and big enough to agree to help the Piece Makers in their quest to find a match for Coleman, even though they have another woman in mind. She can’t fault their plan, and her conscience won’t let her tell the ladies that she doesn’t want to help. But Sadie has more people on her side than she thinks and Coleman has finally realized that Sadie is all grown up. God has a plan for them both, and now the time has come to see it play out.

If you are looking for a sweet romance with characters and a storyline that will leave you feeling happy and inspired, then this book and any other books written by Jessie are perfect for you. I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

A Match Made in Sweet Water

Cowboy Rescuing Me, book 6 in Jessie Gussman’s series Coming Home to North Dakota, gives her fans new friends in the familiar town of Sweet Water, which has grown since the Sweet Water Ranch series took place 15 years earlier. Lots of new residents provide lots of matchmaking opportunities for the sweet old ladies of the Piece Makers, who quilt while pairing up folks.
Their newest target is Peyton, single mom from Indiana and owner of a used bookstore/bake shop who sells addictive Berry French Toast Bake on Saturday mornings. Sadie Powers, who works in her family’s garage, stops by before work for her weekly fix before Peyton sells out. Since she has become Peyton’s friend and is the kid sister of Coleman’s best friend Nolt, she’s enlisted to help bring Peyton and Coleman together. Despite her decade-long crush on Coleman, Sadie agrees.
What happens next? Awkward moments in the bookstore and at Coleman’s farm; runaway horses; riding lessons for Peyton’s 12-year-old son; the birth of a breech calf; a kiss in a thunderstorm and a terrible blunder afterward; Biblical advice from two wise women; a happy ending for the couple who really belongs together; and a twist at the end that reveals there’s more to the Piece Makers than meets the eye!
I highly recommend this book to anyone with curiosity about baking, quilting, bovine and equine care, or quirky Sweet Water names like Nolt, Brawley, Orchid, and, yes, Coleman. Jessie Gussman writes well and handles Christian themes with just the right mix of truth and delicacy. My only quibble: I can’t figure out how Sadie is being “rescued”!

It’s my second book in this series and I really enjoyed reading them. Jessie Gussman makes us feel like we live in Sweet Waters, North Dakota. We totally experiment small town’s vibe, life on a ranch, small businesses’ success or struggle…

Sadie,22, has had a crush on Coleman forever. He’s twelve years older and has always watched her as his best friend’s baby sister. But she’s a woman now and she still looks at him with loving eyes. She’s very upset when the town’s matchmakers « the Piece makers » - a bunch of gentle old ladies trying to marry every single person in the town – ask her to match Coleman with Peyton. Peyton is a sweet and beautiful thirtysomething who just moved into town. Sadie agrees that she would be a perfect match for Coleman and accepts to help the Piece Makers even if it’s not her interest. But what if Coleman isn’t interested ?

The book is clean, I love that so much ! It’s a Christian book with Christian references but I don’t think it’s overwhelming if you don’t go to church. On the contrary, if you love characters with values, you’ll definitelly enjoy it. Plus : I really love the quotes at the beginning of each chapter. Christian’s marriage advice from Jessie Gussman’s readers all over the world.

Sadie has been in love with her older brother's best friend for years, but he's never looked at her enough to realise she's grown up. When the Piece Makers ask her to set him up with her friend Peyton, she agrees reluctantly and tries to put him out of her thoughts. Coleman is well aware that the Piece Makers pride themselves on being matchmakers and has no intention of obliging them. But when Sadie starts encouraging him to spend time with Peyton, he begins to see Sadie as something more than just his friend's sister. Meanwhile, Sadie's friend Shasta knows of her love for Coleman and hopes the pair will end up together. Will the Piece Makers succeed again, or is this match doomed to failure?

Another enjoyable read in the series - definitely some sneaky stuff going on here, which makes things interesting! There are some heart-warming interactions between Sadie and Coleman, and in particular I really loved the calf birth scene. I've never been present at the birth of anything (no opportunity), but the way it's written it brings out the emotion and the miracle of birth beautifully. All in all, I really enjoyed it and look forward to Peyton getting her story next. Recommended.

Note that I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author. I was not required to write a positive review and this is my considered opinion of the book.

Cowboy Rescuing Me is a cute story years in the making. The Piece Makers match making group is at it again with Coleman and the new woman in town that has opened a bookstore named Peyton. Coleman is Nolt's best friend since they were kids. They are almost like brothers. Nolt has just married Shasta who is Sadie's age but still considers Sadie a kid. The Piece Makers has asked Sadie to help get Coleman and Peyton together. Sadie tried but her heart is not in it. But this time the Piece Makers has put a twist on their trade and there are some working behind the scenes that the Piece Makers don't know about that is working against the match makers! The mystery that was talked about several books back about Coleman's necklace is finally revealed! Will this be another successful match for the match makers or will it be their second failure?

I received an advanced copy for my honest review. This book had quotes submitted by request from the author on what makes a good marriage. Imagine my surprise when I seen mine! Love this idea.

The Piece Makers have a plan. They are the town matchmakers and quilters. They ask Sadie to help them with their most recent matchmaking scheme of bringing Peyton and Coleman together. Sadie has loved Coleman for years, but he has never seen her as “grown up” since she is 12 years younger than he is and his best friend’s little sister. Sadie, as a Christian who lives by truth and integrity, reluctantly agrees to help them with all diligence. However, Coleman has a mind of his own and begins to notice that Sadie has grown into a beautiful young lady as she spends time with him trying to bring him to Peyton’s attention. To further discourage Sadie, she feels she is not the best choice for Coleman, and she wants his best – which may be Peyton. What a dilemma!

Christian principles are displayed throughout the story including the biblical definition of love. My favorite quote from the book is “God always has the best timing.”

4.5 out of 5 stars.
Let me begin by saying the book is absolutely wonderful! The reason I would subtract a half star is because if you are reading the series that this is in, Coming Home to North Dakota, book #5 in the series has the best friends of the two main characters in THIS book falling for each other with the same reservations of the age difference. Don't get me wrong, I was rooting for Sadie and Coleman all the way, but it just seemed like the two stories would have been better suited further apart in the series so it didn't feel so similar from book #5 to book #6. If you aren't reading the whole series or are reading them out of order, then that won't be an issue! I very much enjoyed stepping back to North Dakota with the characters that I have come to love and I know you will too! I received an advance e-copy of this book from the author. All opinions in this review are honest and my own. I was under no obligation to leave a review.

He sees her as a child. If only he could see her as a woman!

Sadie Powers has crushed on Coleman Baldwin since forever, so when the Piece Makers asked her to help them match Coleman up with Peyton Sinclair it was like someone pounding a stake into her heart. Sadie could not refuse the little old ladies without revealing her feelings about him and she couldn’t deny that Peyton would make a wonderful wife. Why would God ask this of her?

Her best friend, Shasta, is determined that the Piece Makers will not succeed with their matchmaking this time. She has her own scheme to help Sadie win Coleman. Who will win, and who will fail this time?

This clean cowboy series brings love and faith together in heartfelt romance. The Piece Makers schemes always have a way of working out for the best. What a great book! I received a free book but this review is voluntary and honest.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I had read #5 in the series, and couldn't wait to see what happened with Sadie and Coleman. When the Piece Makers decided to match Coleman with the new single mother in town, I was surprised, since Sadie has been in love with Coleman for years. Then they ask Sadie to help with the match and she couldn't say no as she just wants Coleman to be happy. But her friend Shasta had asked them to match Sadie and Coleman, and when she hears their plan, she decides to work on getting them together. There are sweet and funny moments in this story,as well as some angst and misunderstandings along the way. But there's a happy ending after all.

I listened to the audio version of #5 and this one on YouTube, and Jay Dyess. He does a great job with the story and the different voices.

This is a sweet, clean and Christian Romance.

Sadie has had a crush on her brother's best friend, Coleman since she was in middle school. He never saw her as anything, but a kid. With 6 older brothers, Sadie is treated as a princess and not given the credit that she should for being grown up.

When the Piece Makers ask Sadie to help them fix up Coleman with the new single mom in town, she doesn't know how to tell them that she doesn't want to. So she agrees.

However, there are others working in the background to thwart the Piece Makers plans. Are the Piece Makers making a mistake with this match or do they really know what they are doing??

Such a sweet book on wanting to see others happy and doing what is best for those around you. True love is sacrificial.

Loved Coleman and Sadie's story. Coleman was ready to find a life partner, but he couldn't see who was right in front of him. Sadie had loved Coleman since she was a child. Now, at 22, Sadie was being ask by the 'Piece Makers' quilters/match-makers, to help Coleman get together with her friend. Between thunderstorms and birthing a calf, Coleman stopped seeing Sadie as a child. It was lovely watching him be so thoughtful in his actions before telling Sadie his intentions for their future. If you like clean, heartfelt stories, 'Cowboy Rescuing Me' is a great choice. I highly recommend. I received this book from the publisher. The thoughts and comments are my own.

What a sweet story! I was afraid that this one wasn’t going to go the way I wanted it to, and curious as to how the author was going to write it differently than her fans wanted, and still make us happy.
That’s all I’m going to say about that! I’m happy, and no spoilers here.
I do love reading Jessie Gussman’s books, because she’s always able to bring in good morals and love and respect and God without being preachy. She always seems to say something I’m feeling, in better ways than I could. Here’s my favorite from this book: “I think sometimes we try to reinvent the wheel, and we end up with something less than what we started with.”

Even though the Piece Makers are proud of their reputation and success (they've only failed once) as match makers, it certainly looks like they have messed up this time! They enlist Sadie's help to pair up Coleman with Peyton even though Sadie has had a crush on him for ten years. Shasta, Sadie's college roommate, enlists Peyton's help to pair up Sadie with Coleman. Coleman is content to just live his life but suddenly he has six women trying to manipulate him. What's a man to do when he's always been taught to be respectful of women but there's no way he can force himself to have feelings for someone just to make some old ladies happy?

Coleman had to wait for her to grow up!

Did they or didn’t they try to match Coleman and Peyton? Or is it a grand convoluted scheme to sneak Coleman and Sadie together without them knowing? Jessie is up to her usual hi jinx through the Piece Makers especially Miss Charlene. And a definite yes, we need the recipe for Berry French toast bake. You are going to have a silly smile on your face the whole time you read this, so sit back and enjoy it. Nolt and Shasta do their own bit to move the relationship along, who knew Nolt could be so devious?
Clean and wholesome and Christian themes.

Jessie's books are edifying. I would say they are also light reads, but she does tackle difficult topics. Bad things happen to the characters or because of their choices, but there is redemption, grace, and forgiveness. She weaves in truths about how we should leave as Christians, which serve as reminders as I listen along.

I've listened to her books on YouTube "Say With Jay." He's a great narrator, even for the women's voices. It's the type of book that you can listen to while doing something else. Any can be read as a stand-alone, but I recommend starting the series in order as several connect characters and places.

I love this series! The Piece Makers are delightful matchmakers who really want to see the single people in Sweet Water North Dakota happily married. Colton is hard working and serious. Sadie has had a crush on him since she was in Junior High. Colton is 12 years older than Sadie and best friends with her oldest brother, Nolt. Colton has never thought of Sadie as more than a little girl until one day, he does. I love the quotes at the start of each chapter that are marriage advice from all over the country. I love the Bible teachings that are taught here too.

I have come to really enjoy the Piece Makers, the Sweet Water matchmakers.  They were at it again in this fun, christian story of friendship and romance. I enjoyed the quotes about marriage at the beginning of each chapter and how they spoke of putting God first in the marriage.  This story with Sadie and her brother's best friend, Coleman, was interesting, especially since Sadie gave Coleman a ring when she was 12 and he was 24.  I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

Schoolgirl crush works out
The matchmaking Piece Makers are at it again but are now using subterfuge to get two people connected. Coleman knew Sadie as the kid sister of his best friend. But she gave him a ring and asked him to wait for her to grow up and guess what happens? He wears the ring around his neck and never looks for love. The PieceMakers enlist Sadie to help them push Peyton and Coleman together when they are actually putting Sadie and Coleman together finally. It works out well and the matchmakers are moving on to, well, you'll have to get the next book like I do don't you?

Thought provoking!
The Piece Makers are getting tricky! Lovely story of God’s perfect timing, bringing two people together that have known each other for many years at the perfect time. Their communication needed fine tuning with the help of his mom’s and her friend’s advice. Learning how to be better people, facing their fears so they can move forward was heartwarming. It touched my heart and led me to some soul searching. What a wonderful book!

Received ARC and this is my honest review.

A new amazing story from Jessie Gussman filled with humor, laughter, faith, love and meaning. She always teach a lesson in everything she writes and keep you thinking about her meaningful words. Sadie is been in love with Coleman all her life. But she is only his best friend kid siter’s. Can the Pace Maker bring them together or will they plans to match Coleman with Payton work? Looking forward to listen to Jay’s voice, mainly the part with Sadie and Coleman goofing around.

Great story!

The Piece Makers have asked Sadie for help in matching Coleman with Peyton... and she agrees! Because of who she is, she won't go back on her word, even if...

Coleman is a bit surprised that he's noticed that Sadie is no linger the little girl that used to follow him and Nolt around. When did she grow up, and why can't he stop thinking about her?

Loved the book! Love this series! Her longtime crush is her older brothers best friend. Being 12 years younger makes her just a kid in their eyes. Can Coleman finally see that Sadie is a grown woman, or will the Piece Makers match him up with another single woman in Sweet Water. Loved the quotes about marriage in each chapter. Also love how the characters stay true to themselves and God. Couldn’t put this book down! Great read!

I loved this age-gap romance! My grandparents were 12 years apart, and I've always been intrigued by that. Sadie and Coleman have known each other their whole lives. Sadie has crushed on him for almost that whole time, but Coleman only thought of her as his friend's little sister.

Come to Sweet Water, meet the Piece Makers and wonderful other townspeople and see if Sadie and Coleman can work things out. I promise you'll want to stay!

Great clean storyline and fun characters.
The Piece Makers are at it again!
They have decided to match Coleman with the new lady in town, Peyton. They want Sadie to help with the match. Problem is, Sadie is attracted to Coleman and has been for years. Coleman is best friends with Sadie’s brother and twelve years older. Can she help the ladies make a match or will her feelings finally come out?

Another great small town matchmaker romance. When the piece maker ladies decide to matchmake again, this time they use a bit of reverse psychology. Sadie has been interested in Coleman for as long as she could remember. Coleman saw Sadie as his best friends little sister that liked to tag along. All of a sudden Sadie is trying to get him interested in a woman named Peyton when he realizes Sadie has grown into a lovely woman. Another loving story that works out just as planned!!
