In this new volume, Cheetham presents fresh translations and scholarly interpretations of Nostradamus's last prophecies, focusing on new and startling predictions through the end of this millennium.
While i was really impressed with the extent of research put into this book, I just didn't like how it was written. I don't know why, but i just found this to be dull and uninteresting. But she had some good interpretations, and I bet it's taken her years to get all this information together. So i give it 2 stars for effort :D
this book could be difficult for some readers but I think students of French history and French literature would really enjoy this to a degree. it was and is worth looking into for the curious as well.
A difficult read, but something worth looking into. The quatrains are interpreted by Ms. Cheatham, and are somewhat subjective. I found some of the quatrains to be so accurate they're scary, but for others the interpretation leaves something to be desired. The most dead-on prophecy was related to Louis Pasteur's discoveries, and most of the other quatrains relate to France. If you're a student of French history through the ages, you will love this book!
Extremely hard book to read. Yet, intriguing. Do I think he actually predicted the future? No, I'm not convinced even after reading this book or Ms. Cheetham's interpretation of his quatrains. I agree with another poster, the time to research this book, well I can only imagine the time and effort it must have taken. Heroic effort so I have to give credit for that alone. This might also be a good book to use as a reference for a college paper on Nostradamus life.
Although I didn't agree with some of her interpretations, this seemed like a really well-researched book. It at least was an interesting read and made me want to read more interpretations of Nostradamus.
